You know my standard speech...BET THIS CARD EXACTLY AS I DO AND YOU WILL MAKE CASH...don't deviate, but then again, tellin a gambler how to bet is like trying to take crack away from the Bengals players.
Let's roll...we smoked the last UFC, I got some dogs, I got a favorite, and I got the Main Event:
First fight:
Roll with me on Carmelo Marrero +210 against Wilson Gouveia. I like the fact that Carmelo is this big of a dog. Anyone see his UFC debut in UFC 63? Dude cashed as a bigger dog than this. He has skills and this matchup bodes well for him. Unless he gasses, this should be his fight. He likes to ground and pound is a very good wrestler. So, let's get it on the ground, let's get the rook crowd to start booing, and let's win that wrestler's decision.
**1 Unit on Carmelo Marrero to win 2.1 units
2nd Fight:
Sorry Jimmy, I disagree. I'll take Ivan Salaverry -160 over Terry Martin. I don't know what Terry Martin fights Oakland is seeing, but bro, I think this guy is terrible. Jason Lambert destroyed him and James Irvin beat him badly. Good luck, maybe you know something I don't, but Salaverry is the play in my book.
**1.5 units on Ivan Salaverry -160
3rd Fight:
Roll with me on Thiago Silva -250 to beat up on James "the sandman" irvin. Even though the UFC vet is the huge dog, I'll take the pedigree. Thiago is a Brazilian JuJitsu Black belt, at the age of 12. He was teaching submissions while most of us at the same age were in Junior high. He is the real deal and a serious talent. I hate laying the high juice but it's my protection bet for the main event.
**2 Units on Thiago Silva -250
Main Event:
That's Right, I'm rollin the Iceman. Screw the line drop, screw Quentin, screw his howl, Chuck is gonna knock his ass out. I loved the beer belly at the weigh in, that means he's in prime shape. I'm not kidden but every time I see the weigh ins I can usually tell and I think Rampage is scared. I know that sounds crazy but I'll take Chuck all day in this one. Let's really look at it..
The line opened over 200 and it's all the way down to Chuck -160 for me. Why? Well the betting public who has just started to get in MMA sees the Cro Cop upset, they see the GSP upset, and they think this is the standard, not the exception. If you know me and have read my UFC posts in the past, you know i will ride dogs and and I will ride favorites. Tonight is a night to go after the favorite. There is absolutely no reason for me to back Quinton.
Wrestling: advantage Chuck (and he didn't have the advantage in 03)
Strength: advantage Quinton
Endurance and Stamina: Chuck..I'm tellin ya, that beer bellied fool has never gassed in a fight I've seen. Quinton usually gasses after 10 minutes. This could very well go into the 4'th or 5'th. Hell I think the first round will be a feel out anyways.
Experience: push..but only because Rampage has fought better competition the past 3 years. Otherwise, you put a fighter in front of Chuck and he beats him. It doesn't matter if he's an elite wrestler (couture) an elite BJJ practitioner (Sobral and Horn) or a striker (Vernon Tiger white) or a ground and pound (Tito). Put simply, Chuck has beaten everyone that has been put at his dinner table.
Get your UFC gear out again, the boys on this side of the pond will prove AGAIN they are better fighters.
2 units on the Iceman Chuck Lidell -160
Good luck boys..enjoy the card.
Juice..if you want to just give "hey buddy" 200.00 for Houston send him a card. Jardine is gonna whip that ass badly tonight. Leg kicks and then a submission in the 2nd..book it.
