Just wanted to post early as I think these lines will move quickly on the UAB/Kentucky game...

...Does everyone remember the first round games for these two? UAB and Washington running and gunning with that 40 minutes of hell Nolan clone coach ran? 102-100. Kentucky/FAMU...60-52....oh...that's right at half time. Both of these games went way over their posted totals. I see this one playing along the same lines. Kentucky has much better D than Washington..which I think will lead to a lower total. But UAB brings it for 40 minutes and will do enough scoring to make this total go safely over.
Play over 148...don't know what's up but I bet this one early..don't know if it will go up or down..but I'm already on it.
Vandy/NC State

Tough game to pick. ACC player of the year vs. Vandy's big inside game. I initially liked Vandy but then thought about the W. Mich game I watched. Sloppy, ugly, 11 turnovers in the first half, couldn't hit free throws, lazy D against an average scoring team. NC State on the other hand led the ACC in FT % and have a money closer in ACC player of the year (AP) Julius Hodge..a trash talking money delivering 6-6 silky smooth power forward. An interesting contrast in styles...

Take NC State to cover the -3 1/2
(**note, I'm also playing a small small one unit play on the under 138 in this game as well. Both first round games for these teams went under.)

Well it has not been a great week or disaster so far this week lets recap! 4-5 ATS yeatreday! -1 ats since tourney started ! +3 ats for week! 264-221 ATS for year! All caught up? First my PITT+1 play as those who read my posts know I have been ridin Pitt all year but now there is some concern due to Pitt recent shooting( in last 7 games they have posted their three lowest field-goal percentages of the year with last game being their worst of the year 29%) This concerns me no doubt! Now today the game opened at pick(up to +1 and by game I feel will go up some more, will be back later to post final spot) Now they face a Wisky squad in what amounts to a home game! Things do not look good!! But "not so fast my friend" (my first reaction after last game was to jump ship but after more thought..) Bottom line is that this year Pitt is 30-4! In those 4 losses ( by a total of 10 pts) they have had the ball for the last shot with a chance to win or tie!! They just do not get blown out with their defense no matter how they shoot!! Lets look at those losses. U. Conn twice(beat once) in sweet 16! Syracuse in sweet 16!! Seton hall just lost to Duke! Beat B.C. twice game out of sweet 16! So to recap 3 losses to Sweet 16 teams vs two wins if B.C. wins 4-3 vs sweet 16 teams even with Eagle loss big east is doing very good in tourney! This squad has played tough games all year! Losing twice to Conn in close games no shame as they are the cream of the crop when oak is healthy no doubt! Lets recap if Pitt shoots good its all over but the cryin if they shoot bad well they will still be there at end of game( 5-2 in that seven game run of bad shooting losing to U. conn & cuse by three) Saw a stat that Devin Harris scores over 25% of wiskys points! Well Devin meet Mr Page! Though he is mired in just an awful shooting slump(main reason for pitt shooting woes can only hope HUGE 3 at end of game will bring back touch as that shot was so pretty just like old times) he is still best "D" guard in country( ask Ben Gordan or Jerry from Cuse he has shut both down in past Ben 7-24 last game) Devin will not go off today he will get his but not carry this team! In summary Pitt getting points always a PLAY as defense keeps them in games ! Streaky shooting keeps this from being a large play but in the end will lay average bet down on Pitt! Wisky will be the public play no doubt (cannot blame public) but watch out for the Panthers as they are not dead yet!! This team has stones they find a way its ugly sometimes( shot 29% won by 9 last game) but they just win baby! DO NOT NO WHY BUT JUST FEEL PITT WILL BE SKY HIGH TODAY VS A SQUAD WHO HAD TO MAKE A LARGE COMEBACK LAST GAME(NEVER BODES WELL FOR NEXT GAME) AND PULLS OUT A WIN !! IF THEY THOUGHT SPIDERS COULD PLAY DEFENSE BEFORE WEARING DOWN(WILL NOT HAPPEN HERE) BUCKLE UP BADGERS THEIR IS A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN !! Even boat jumpers around here have written Pitt off!! I SAY NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!! Hope this has helped!! Also in first Game like MISS STATE -4- As cream rise to the top here ! ATL 10 not in SEC leauge with second tier team vs first tier team!! DOGS +3 ats for tourney after 6-2 run yesterday! watch for a bounce back today as public jumps to dogs to late! Back later good luck!!

Went 2-0 yesterday winning with Miami & Manhattan. Up 4 units for the week. Here are my Sunday picks.
1) Kentucky (-9.5) - Kentucky is 9-1 ATS last 10 games, didn't cover the 28 against Florida A&M. UAB will see what 40 minutes of hell is like against Kentucky.
2) Denver (-8.5) - Last week MPLS Star Tribune wrote an article about how bad the Wolves were on Sunday their last 4 games, then they lost to Portland as a 8.5 favorite making it 0-5 straight up and ATS last 5 Sundays. So I'm taking Denver for the same reason.
3) Miami (-3) - Miami is 43-25-1 ATS for the year and 13-3 ATS last 16 games. Also, Miami is 12-6-1 ATS on zero days rest but after killing the 76ers yesterday, they were able to rest their starters.
4) Kansas (-11) - Kansas is 5-1 ATS last 6 games. Pacific was lucky and played a slumping Providence team in the 1st round. Kansas has been playing great basketball of late and smoked Ill-Chicago who had a 12 game winning streak by 25.

NICE WRITEUP JOE !!! I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING BIG FROM YOU TODAY AS THIS IS THE GOY FOR PITT. THEY CAN HUSH ALL THE DOUBTERS WITH A WIN IN WISKY TODAY. WISCONSIN IS A TOUGH TEAM THAT GETS TOUGH WINS & IF THEY WERE NOT PLAYING PITT ( OR UC ) TODAY I WOULD BE ROOTING FOR THEM BIG. HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE & I AGREE WITH YOU, PITT WILL WIN. JUST TO ADD TO EVERYTHING YOU SAID, WHICH WAS STRONG MAN. I BELIEVE THAT DEFENSE ULTIMATELY IS THE VICTOR. I RESEARCHED THIS GAME HARD, BREAKING DOWN EACH TEAMS SEASON, & GRADED EACH TEAM IN 12 STATISTICAL CATEGORIES. WISCONSIN TOOK HOME THE TROPHY IN THE OVERALL OFFENSIVE CATEGORY. PITT, ON THE OTHER HAND, WON IN WHAT I FEEL ARE THE MORE IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE GAME. THEIR OVERALL DEFENSE IS STRONGER, THEY OUT REBOUND ON BOTH SIDES OF THE COURT, THEY TAKE MORE FREE THROWS PER GAME & WISCONSIN ALLOWS THEIR OPP MORE ( THIS COULD BE HUGE IN THIS GAME ) & LAST OF ALL, I FEEL AS THOUGH THEY HAVE PLAYED A TOUGHER SCHEDULE, MORE QUALITY OPPONENTS THAT WILL HAVE THEM READY FOR TODAY.
ALSO, EVERY BREAKDOWN I HAVE DONE HAS 120+ POINTS BEING SCORED IN THIS GAME. EXPECTING BOTH TEAMS TO BE IN THAT 59-65 POINT RANGE EASILY COVERING THE OVER OF 114.

Terrible day yesterday going 1-3....Putting me at 11-8 for the week and 211-179 overall.. Today I have:

Here we go! Was leaning to favs but after further pondering have changed some bets! G.T. -6 I am a big east guy but today the eagles get derailed as just not enough firepower here as Tech will run b.c. up and down court which will take a toll on Mr Smith! N.C. STATE -3- vandy cost me vs W. mich where they did not play that good! N.C. shot bad last game look for a nice bounce back from a better team here! THE NOISE +1 this is a gut play take it for whats its worth and hey the WEAK TEN HAS TO GET ONE TEAM IN THE SWEET 16! MEMPHIS +6- lot of points for a young but quality team that won with both stars having off nite in last game !! Not tonight its a barnburner! PITT +1 would be huge play but iffy shoting puts huge play on hold! Last two games PACIFIC +11 was leaning towards the hawks but nicked up here a ton of points and I see where Pacific went to play Duke on the road and lost by 13 ( kansas you are no duke) that combined with the fact i still can recall the jays getting pounded in some games this year makes me leary to lay big number!! UAB +10 another game i was leaning to fav but this team is just pesky! went to Miss State and lost by 2! Worth a peek!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD DAY!!
