    tom luicci's picks

LSU over Arkansas, giving 17 1/2 (Ch. 2, 2:30, tomorrow): With the SEC West title at stake, Tigers should continue their dominant play -- especially against the run. Hogs are walking into an ambush.

COLORADO over Nebraska, giving 14 (Ch. 7, 3:30, tomorrow): Has it come to this for the Huskers? Well, yes. Buffaloes own the nation's No. 1 run defense, are home and can win the Big 12 North with a victory.

KANSAS over Iowa State, taking 3 (FSN, 12:30): Solid at home all year, and good defensively most of it (except for the Texas game), the Jayhawks have upset potential if QB Jason Swanson is on.

CONNECTICUT over South Florida, taking 8 1/2 (Ch. 7, 3:30): Not only is the weather an issue for USF, but there are rumors about Jim Leavitt leaving for Kansas State. Huskies' defense keeps them in this.

VIRGINIA TECH over North Carolina, giving 23 (ESPN, 7:45): A big line, but remember this: It's Matt Baker at QB for UNC against a relentless Hokies' defense. A replay of the Virginia game for Tech.

Notre Dame over STANFORD, giving 18 (Ch. 7, 8): A week after being no match at home against Cal (and a backup QB), what's changed for Stanford? It could get ugly if QB Trent Edwards can't play

WEST VIRGINIA over Pittsburgh, giving 14 (ESPN, 8, tonight): Panthers are 0-4 on the road and their offense continues to struggle (192 yards vs. UConn last game). WVU is putting it all together now.

Texas over TEXAS A&M, giving 27 (Ch. 7, noon, tomorrow): Aggies have lost three straight and haven't beaten a team with a winning record. The 12th man can't help that much against Vince Young & Co.
