Carolina -3 @ Chicago

Play: Chicago +3

I'm going to ride the Bears again. This time as a small play, or a lean.

I've been backing Carolina a lot this season too, but this time around I'm

going with the value. This week the Bears have no redzone edge, as they are

virtually tied in that departement with Carolina. Probably two of the best

redzone teams this season. But they do have better defense and especially

better running game on both ends of the field. Actually their running edge

is ranked #2 this week. They are playing at home, in a rather cold weather,

and I just have to take the points here. Carolina played all of their games

this season at temperatures of 70 or higher. This Sunday they will be

playing at 45 and in those conditions (+ possibility of strong winds) I

favor a better running team over a better passing team, and that team is

Chicago. CAR center Michell is banged up and questionnable for this

game.Chicago wasn't impressive at all last week vs the 49ers but hey,

Carolina played the hopeless Jets and 23 of their 30 pts have been scored

off of NYJ turnovers !

Play against teams that have been outrushed, passed for 180-yards in

previous game, if they won it by double digits and the opponent had 4

turnovers or more: 28-7 ATS L15Y (Play on Chicago)

Play on dogs that rushed for 170+ yds in two straight games: 35-19-2 ATS

L15Y (Play on Chicago)

If they also outpassed their previous opp: 15-4 SU and 16-3 ATS. (Play on

Chicago)

Since '98, the dog is 9-0-1 ATS in the battles of teams on 4+game winning

streaks in weeks 5 or later. (Play on Chicago)

Play on home dogs after winning by 7+, opp. of win and cover: 48-26 ATS L20Y

(Play on Chicago).

Arizona +9.5 over ST. LOUIS (1:00 Eastern)

The first of my three Sunday dogs. This week is the first one all

season that I feel like we are really getting value on multiple underdogs

and this Arizona represents the best of the early games. We get an

overrated huge favorite against a team that has played like crap. But, the

team that has played like crap has a QB with a lot of extra "want" in

this one. After floundering while he was out, the Cardinals now have Kurt

Warner back under center. He threw for 359 yards last week against

Detroit. They are likely to have Anquan Boldin back here as well. This

Arizona offense is leaps and bounds better with those two playing vs.

without. With Warner throwing to Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald, the Arizona

offense has the potential to score, especially against the third worst

defense in the league. And, do you think Kurt Warner wants this one? You

bet! The Rams basically discarded him like a piece of used luggage. He

wants nothing more than to go into St. Louis and play well as the !

starter. He played well in the first meeting with his old club back in

week 2. He threw for 327 yards as the Cards lost by just 5 points. This

one means more though, being in St. Louis. Warner had his best game as

a Cardinal last week and should just now be getting comfortable with

this offense. St. Louis is normally tough at home but they had the wind

taken out of their sail last week in a blowout loss to Seattle. They are

now 3 games back and know they have virtually no chance at winning

their division. After that HUGE game, they will find it VERY hard to get up

for this one. I expect the Rams to sleep walk through much of this

game. The Cards have dropped four of their last five games and under Dennis Green, they have never lost a sixth of seven against the spread, going 6-0 in this situation. Arizona is bad but St. Louis is simply not 9.5

points better. When things are going as bad as can be for a team like

Arizona, and you have a public favorite like St. Louis, and fav!

orites have been hitting like clockwork, you have a prime chan!

ce for major value on the undervalued underdog. Take Arizona.

Detroit Lions

NFL DETROIT LIONS +7.5 (Sun., 11/20, 1:00 ET) – This is a big letdown spot for Dallas, as the Cowboys are playing a non-division game on a short week after a HUGE road divisional win at Philadelphia on Monday. The Lions have had their moments this season such as their 27-21 win over Arizona last week, and we look for them to stay within a field goal or so here.

NFL BUCCANEERS/FALCONS UNDER 39 (Sun., 11/20, 1:00 ET) – Both of these teams were involved in shootouts last week, but that has been the exception rather than the norm, so we expect a return to normalcy this week. Tampa Bay is still allowing just 17.3 points on a measly 253.8 total yards per game this season, while the Atlanta defense is allowing just 19.6 points. Also, both teams like to run the ball often, which should serve to eat up the clock.

NFL HOUSTON TEXANS +7 ***NFL GAME OF THE WEEK*** (ESPN - Sun., 11/20, 8:30 ET) – The Texans may be just 1-8 SU this season, but they have been very kind to their supporters lately going 3-0 ATS in the last three games. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that these two offenses are averaging an identical 16.7 points over the last three games, and that the Houston defense is allowing only one more point per game (22.7 to 21.7) over this same stretch. We look for an inspired effort by Houston in this rare national TV appearance, so the Texans should take this game down to the wire here at home.

    Minnesota Vikings

    +4.5 / 2 units

NFL MINNESOTA VIKINGS +4.5 (ABC - Mon., 11/21, 9:00 ET) – Strangely, as atrocious a road team as the Vikings have been in recent seasons, they have still managed to go a PERFECT 5-0 ATS in their last five trips to Lambeau Field! In fact, Minnesota is now 8-2 ATS in the last 10 head-to-head meetings between these long-time rivals regardless of the venue. Given that the Vikings are actually still in the hunt for the division title in the weak NFC North at 4-5, we are looking for more of the same Monday night.

    RANDALL THE HANDLE

    Jacksonville @ Tennessee (SIA)

The Titans needed their week off from both a physical and mental aspect. They are now ready to get back to work and while they won’t sniff the playoffs, they do take pride in their craft and are determined to improve in second half of season. Tennessee has won six of the past seven in this match up while both of last year’s games were decided by a field goal. Look for a healthier Titans squad to battle here.

TAKE: Tennessee +4½ -1.05 (Risking 1.60 units to win 1.5).

    NY Jets @ Denver (Pinnacle)

This sad New York bunch will travel for the fourth time in its past five games to face one of the league’s hottest and most balanced clubs. The Jets travel poorly, having yet to win on the road while being outscored by a lopsided 124-44. Denver has handled much better visitors than this one and should have little trouble trouncing an opponent that has a rookie quarterback and a hobbled running back.

TAKE: Denver –13 –1.05 (Risking 1.60 units to win 1.5).

    Kansas City @ Houston (SIA)

Despite a winning record, the Chiefs have not looked particularly sharp for most of this campaign. Star TE Tony Gonzalez has just one touchdown reception this season while defensively, Kansas City ranks a disappointing 26th. The Texans aren’t a formidable bunch but they’ve been a bit better recently. Houston will be at home in front of a national audience against a visitor playing their fourth road game in five weeks. TAKE: Houston +7 (Risking 1.65 units to win 1.5).
