    Thursday's Game

Boston College is 6-1 this season, losing only 28-17 to Florida State; they're 5-0 as road underdog since '03, but may switch to different QB for this game, as Ryan rallied them from nine-point deficit in fourth quarter of last game, vs Wake Forest. Va Tech is 3-1 in last four games vs BC, with road team winning three of the four-- BC won their last visit here, 34-27, as 14-point dog in '03. ACC home favorites are 4-7 vs spread this year. Hokies are 7-0, with their last six wins all by 17+ points; they better not look to next week's showdown with Miami Hurricanes.

Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers October 30 - 1:00 PM ET

It took a Paul Edinger's 56 yards field goal with time expiring for the Vikings to complete their comeback handing Packers a 23-20 loss moving the season mark to 2-4 (2-4 ATS). The Vikings held to less than 20 points in four of their six games are 5-1 'Under' on season. The Panthers off a bye and three consecutive 'W's are 4-2 (3-2-1 ATS) on the season with 4 'Over' and 2 'Under'. Minnesota and Carolina last met in 2002 a game the Panthers won 21-14 as 6 1/2 point road underdogs marking the second consecutive win against the Vikings. Washington Red Skins at New York Giants October 30 - 1:00 PM ET

The Redskins have been winning on the strength of defense but last week the 'O' took over as they pounded lowly 49ers 52-17. A 4-2 SU/ATS on the season Washington will be tested against the division rival Giants (4-2 SU/ATS) marking their third consecutive home win last Sunday beating Broncos 24-23. The Cardinals (2-4 SU/ATS) notched their second win of the season beating the Titans 20-10 in the desert last week despite McCown only hitting 12 of 28 for 140 yards. Drew Bledsoe is probably still having nightmares after chucking an interception with five seconds left allowing Josh Brown to boot a 50 yarder giving the Seahawks the three point win (13-10) sending the Cowboys to the bottom of the NFC East with a 4-3 SU & 2-4-1 ATS record. The Boys won last years meeting 24-7 marking the 4th consecutive series win and cover in front of the home crowd.

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions October 30 - 1:00 PM ET

The offensively challenged Bears (3-3 SU/ATS) won a 10-6 squeaker against the Ravens making their second consecutive game without allowing a TD and remain the only team that has not allowed a rushing TD all season. The defensive minded Bears 1-5 O/U on the year recorded the only 'Over' against Lions back in week two when they pounded Detroit 38-6. The Lions (3-3 SU & 4-2 ATS) off a 13-10 squeaker of it's own against the lowly Browns putting up 329 yards thanks in part to replacing Harrington with Garcia (22-of-34 210 yards). Home team in series is 3-6-2 ATS but Detroit still looks like a solid revenge play knowing Mariucci is 7-0 ATS with same season pay-back.

    - scoring 6.94 points per 100 yards offense (TY) - 3.95 pts/per last week

Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans October 30 - 1:00 PM ET

Off a horrid game throwing 3 INT's and getting sacked four times in a 13-10 loss to the Lions it would not surprise if Dilfer carried the clip board this week. Only things one can depend on with the Browns, they won't score many (13 PPG - 1-5 O/U). Cleveland took L2 meetings but we doubt a third is in store. Neither do Sportsbooks who opened the winless Texans as favorites. Enough said about this sad lot.

    Cleveland Browns

    - 1-3 ATS L4 in week 8

    - 5-9 O/U L14 as road underdogs

    - allowing 4.64 points per 100 yards defense (TY) - 3.95 pts/per last week

    - 3-0 ATS in week 8

    - 3-4 ATS as home favorites.

    - allowing 7.84 points per 100 yards defense (TY) - 8.69 pts/per last week

    - scoring 6.58 points per 100 yards offense (TY) - 14.39 pts/per last week

Green Bay Packers at Cincinnati Bengals October 30 - 1:00 PM ET

The Packers not only blew a 17-0 lead falling 23-20 to the Vikings they lost receiver Robert Ferguson (ankle) and running back Ahman Green (Knee). Green out, a 30th ranked rushing offense (72.3 yards/game) the (1-5 SU & 3-3 ATS) Packers are in for a long losing season. The Bengals (5-2 SU & 4-2-1 ATS) off a 27-13 beating at the hands of the Steelers still remain in top spot and should still hold the #1 AFC North ranking after Sunday's battle with Green Bay. Beyond that it's anyone's guess, the Bengals have yet to beat a winning team this season. Teams last played in '98 a game Green Bay won 13-6 pushing a 7 point road favorites.

The Saints also off a third consecutive loss allowing 28.7 PPG on the season could be the medicine Dolphins need. Then again, Miami hasn't exactly been road warriors losing 10 of L11 away (5-6 ATS). The (4-2 SU & 2-4 ATS) Eagles now face another big AFC West opponent in the Broncos (5-2 SU & 4-2-1 ATS) who had a five game win streak snapped at the Giants (24-23). Interesting clash, Eagles #1 pass offense (299 yards/game 12 TD's) against Broncos 26th pass defense (240.6 yards/game 9 TD's) - Broncos #2 rushing offense (158.7 yards/game 8 TD's) against Eagles 10th ranked rush defense (101.3 yards/game 3 TD's) Last meeting '98 with Broncos blowing out Eagles 41-16.
