Vegas Experts tip of the day :

Pittsburgh Steelers at San Diego Chargers, Monday, October 10, 2005 9:00 P.M. EST EST

With Jerome Bettis set to return to action tonight look for the Steelers to stick to the ground game. San Diego figures to do the same versus the tough Pittsburgh "D." PITTSBURGH is 23-8 UNDER in road games after 1 or more consecutive losses since 1992. SAN DIEGO is 25-11 UNDER in home games after a playing a game where 50 total points or more were scored since 1992 and 18-5 UNDER as a home favorite of 3 points or less since 1992. The average score was SAN DIEGO 17.0, OPPONENT 18.1 - (Rating = 2*)

SAN DIEGO over Pittsburgh by 1

The well rested Steelers are 16-4 ATS as October dogs in their

last 20 tries and they are a dominating 9-1-1 ATS against these

Chargers in the last 11 meetings. San Diego needs to win every

home game it plays and the Chargers are good enough to do it.

Still, let's see where this number settles before snapping the

rubber band

WINNING SYSTEMS

Monday Night Football (5-2 o/a, 4-1 sides)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2-3-1 on Sunday. Jacksonville only gave me a push after leading by 7+ most of the game. Vick didn't play for Atlanta and that bet was stil up in the air until the last seconds. Chicago colapsed in last few minutes. Could have been a 5-1 day with a few lucky breaks here and there. But that's why we call it gambling. 32-21 ytd (60.4%) NFL.

MNF: Pittsburgh +3 @ San Diego

PLAY # 7: San Diego -3

5-2 MNF YTD, 4-1 ATS ON SIDES ONLY.

Two excellent offenses on the field should give us a very entertaining MNF game. Right now, the Chargers are full of confidence, and their offense seems to be unstoppable. San Diego scored over 40 pts in last two games. I don't think they'll put another 40 pts on Pittsburgh's D, but I do believe that their balanced offense can find the end zone often enough to win this game. They are extremely efficient in the red zone (80%) and they are making 50% of their third down attempts. Their red zone efficiency is even better when you only look at their last three games (2-0-1 ATS) as they converted 10/11 offensive opportunities and stopped the opponent 7/11 times defensivelly. And those three games were played against some damn good opponents. During that same period of time, the Steelers were good for only 50% both offensively and defensivelly. When you look at the paper, Pittsburgh seems to be better defensivelly, but not by much, given the difference in turnovers forced by two teams. San Diego actually allows a few yards pg less than the Steelers, and they are achieving that by forcing about 1 turnover less per game than the Steelers. Another key stat that contributed to SD's last two wins, is the # of turnovers on offense, that was cut to 1 in last two games, compared to 4 TO in first two games of the season. San Diego has a much taugher schedule in the next few weeks, as they travel to Oakland and Philly, before playing KC at home. They need this win to get over .500 before that dangerous part of their schedule and I believe they can do it. San Diego win this one by 10 pts.

For the system lovers:
