Hoops 3/19

Nba: 2-1 ats +2.9 units
Ncaa: 1-1 ats -0.2 units
Tennis: 1-0 ATS +1 unit
NCAA DANCE:
Colgate/Arkansas: I have to back the over. Both teams run and gun and I think the committee put this game together so we have a high flyer early in the day. Arkansas has been on a tear and is the highest scoring team in the SEC. This should be a game for a half and then a chase of the number in the 2nd half.

Utah State/Texas Tech: The Aggies are a popular pick. I like the Red Raiders. Tournament tough, played quality competition all year vs. a Utah State who only has 3 quadrant 1 games. I will take the experience over the hype on Utah State.

Drexel/Illini: I'm taking the dog. A lot of points for an Illini team to cover. They will win, but by 23? Illini have not beaten a team by 20 (in fairness playing in the Big X is the best competition in the country) in a long time.
3*** on Drexel +22.5
Georgia Tech vs. Loyola Chicago
I like G Tech. Loyola has Sister Mary, G Tech has legit numbers. Winning the ACC tourney was an eye opener for me. They have peaked at the right time and I expect them to win outright.

Oregon State vs Tennessee
The Beavers are one of the hottest team in the country doing a Georgetown like run to make the dance and winning the Pac12 tourney to get a bid. I don't expect them to win, but I do expect an extremely tight game. Tinkle is as very underrated coach and I think he keeps the Beavers competitive enough to cover the number.

Purdue vs. North Texas
I'm on the under. Both teams are solid defensively. Go look at their points allowed. N Texas will play slow and try to stay in the game. They have been in tight ones all year and have only allowed 70 points once since February 1st. Purdue is a good defensive but will play slow or fast.

Liberty vs Okie State
We hear the hype on Cade Cunnigham and the Cowboys are excited they get to dance after charges were tied up and allowed them to play. Dig this: Liberty has lost by more than 7 points once this year, a 69-60 loss to Mizzou in the 4th game of the year. They are disciplined, have won 11 games in a row, and match up extremely well with the Cowboys style of play. I would not be surprised to see them win SU.

Rutgurs/Clemson
I am taking the Tigers. Rutgers is a feel good story and dancing for the first time in a long time. The program started hot but has been a 500% team (albeit in the tough Big 10) but man, I don't see any reason to roll Rutgers here. Clemson is the better defensive team, has a better PG, and should be able to take advantage of them offensively. 85% of the public is on a Rutgers team that's 8-9 since January 1st.

Winthrop/Nova:
We know Nova is facing some injuries and adversity. It's always tough to fade Nova in the tourney but I am. My bigger play is on the over though. I think both teams will come out blazing and then we have to sweat the 2nd half defensive adjustments.

Morehead vs WVU
I'm taking the over. For the last 5 years I have watched Huggie bear play a defensive minded game. For some reason, the Mountaineers are all about offense. Morehead State has won a ton of games in a row, but aginst patsies. They do like to run though and will have to play from behind. I expect WVU to cover the number but the better play is on the over. WVU is on a 12-4 run on the over, Morehead on a 7-3 run on the over It's my biggest play of the day.

I'm on the Buffalo Bulls. Think they will win outright vs the Rams.

Not a lot of time so will keep it short.
Heat scored over 110 5 games in a row and then laid an egg against Memphis. Indy will push more with LaVert working his way towards 34-36 minute a game.
I'm taking the over.

Phoenix/Minny:
Phoenix lost to the Twolves and it was a run and gun. I expect more of the same from Phoenix, Minny can't do it two nights in a row but will try to keep up.
