Gentlemen,
We hit on the Game of the Month last night in scintillating fashion. Today I have an even bigger play for you. ROLL WITH ME ON CREIGHTON +1 as y Missouri Valley Game of the Year. I figured on Creighton beating Indiana State, thought Wichita State would get my Mo State. Top 1/2 of bracket went down as planned. You have to roll the Jays today in St. Louis. For those of you that follow the Valley, you know SIU is the regular season champ for the 5'th time in 6 years. Did you know that SIU has only won 1 post season tourney in the last 6 years? There is a reason for this. The Jays and Shockers and Braves have been dominant in St. Louis. The Salukis are playing for a 3 seed vs. a 4 seed. They will not get a 2 seed even though I believe they deserve it if they win the tourney. I'm tellin ya right now Creighton is a strong ST. LOUIS tourney team. They will have a nice fan base there as well from Omaha...a short 4 hour jaunt across the plains. I've made this trek myself and I know that the jays are the play today. I'll take Funk and Tolliver's senior leadership against a younger, now in the NCAA dance Mo State Bears team. All 4 of these teams should make the dance with RPI's in the top 30 and all have 20 wins. Creighton always does well in this spot as they have faltered towards the end of the regular season. You have to know the Valley to think Creighton wins this game. They are monsters of the Midway (sorry for the pun) when it comes to the talk of March hoops in the Valley. When I went to Creighton, we used the phrase "Beware of the ides of March" in reference to Creighton's strong play in St. Louis. Funk and Tolliver are two of the better players in the Valley and the defense they play is strong. Mo State will have trouble matching up in this nuetral court game. Jays by 5 or more today. ROLL WITH ME ON CREIGHTON +1 as my Missouri Valley Game of the Year. Let's roll boys.
