I have been on an interesting trend where posted picks seem to flop while my "mediocore" plays that I don't post are easy winners. Nonetheless, I am still going to post my top plays this weekend with confidence.
MINNY -3.5 This play is very reminiscent of the UCLA/OKLAHOMA line last week. The public is likely to jump all over "ranked" Purdue getting 3.5 points (actually surprised on 57% on Purdue as of posting). Minny will pound the ball over and over against Purdue and even if this game is close, Minny will pull away in the 2nd half as the Purdue defense wears down. How Minny isn't ranked right now I don't know. There is also a tremendous revenge factor for Minny as they have lost "7" in a row. Look for that streak to end in a big way.
Northwestern +7.5 Sundaybreak wrote an excellent write up on this game and I couldn't agree more. Penn State has a very pedestrian offense and while Northwestern isn't exactly stellar on defense, their offensive should be able to keep this game close. NW was a little embarresed last week out west and will look to get back on track at home against an overrated Penn St team. NW might even win outright.
Louisville -20.5 Brohm finally had his breakout game last week and will cont against a decent S.Florida team. I know its alot of points to lay on the road, but have no worries....L'ville is Italian Sporstcar going against a Pontiac Fiero.....there is no comparison.
Oregon +21.5 USC may be the best offense in college football but their closest games last year were against PAC 10 teams.. Traveling to Autzen Stadium is tough for any opponent and the Trojans will be no different. USC has given up 437 yds to Hawaii and 326 to ARK and 3rd year starter Kellen Clemens for Oregon will NOT be intimidated at home. The Ducks won't win this game but they won't be embarrased at home either. Take the points!
