Event: Marshall vs Akron on 01-19-2005 at 16:00
Condition: Akron
Explanation: I'm backing AKRON over Marshall on Wednesday night as my Value Game of the Week! The Herd have not protected their home court this season going just 2-5 S/U, 2-4 ATS! Marshall is weak on the defensive end where they allow 80 PPG in front of the home crowd and the Zips will take advantage! Bubba Walther will give Marshall all they can handle outside while Darryl Peterson and Jeremiah Wood work the inside, with Peterson also drawing a frontcourt defender away from the basket at times, which allows Wood to clean the glass. My power ratings have AKRON by 8 in this one. I'm backing the AKRON ZIPS, my Value Game of the Week!

Event: South Florida vs Memphis on 01-19-2005 at 16:00
Condition: South Florida
Explanation: I'm taking South Florida over Memphis. The Tigers looked as though they were beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. They had won two straight heading into the weekend, but then the wheels fell off. They lost 61-59 at home to TCU and then found out 6'8 forward Sean Banks, (their second leading scorer), was ruled academically ineligible for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, USF suffered back-to-back tough defeats, dropping a 62-61 decision to UAB and a 66-64 defeat at Marquette on Saturday. But the Bulls are getting solid, tenacious play from all 5 starters, especially 6'9 Terrance Leather, who pumped in 25 points at Marquette. USF has covered 6 of 7 lined games this season, including 3 straight. Tonight, they get a S/U victory to go along with the cover! SOUTH FLORIDA is my TOP ****** release on Wednesday!

Event: Clemson vs North Carolina on 01-19-2005 at 18:00
Condition: North Carolina
Grade: MAIN EVENT
Explanation: I'm laying the points with NORTH CAROLINA, my Main Event on Wednesday! Those who were with me on Saturday scored a BIG win going AGAINST the Tarheels with Wake Forest. Here's quick bounce-back for Roy Williams' squad. The Tigers have been no slouch at home winning 8 of 9 S/U, and have held the opposition to just 62 PPG. Those numbers will serve as a wake up call for UNC! After struggling a little away from Chapel Hill, expect supreme intense effort for 40 minutes from the Heels! Carolina features 3 players averaging OVER 15 PPG and will push the tempo. Clemson played UNC tough last season, with the Heels pulling out a 9-point win. But this is a much better North Carolina team. Even though the Heels are just 2-2 S/U on the road, they've still held those 4 teams to an average of just 24 makes in 59 tries from the field per game. That means home teams are connecting on just 40.6% on THEIR OWN COURT! Wake got the win for us, but it must be noted they connected on 32 of 32 from the charity stripe! Tough to beat that no matter who you are. Tonight, UNC bounces back with a BLOWOUT WIN at Clemson. NORTH CAROLINA is my Main Event!
