PC NBA 2012
Let's roll.
Orlando @ Oklahoma
I have to take the Magic here. Orlando's strength is the same it always has been, Dwight inside and great perimeter shooting. I'm not buying that Orlando doesn't have what it takes to stay within 8 points. The pre-season was so short that it was hard for me to get a read on teams, but I'm going on matchups in this one. Jameer Nelson can run with anyone, including Russell and Kevin. The Thunder had a great run last year and they have a good team, but Orlando still has veterans and gunners everywhere. Dwight will take the pressure off the outside shooters. Here's my logic: Orlando dumps it inside until they start swarming Howard. They then rely on the perimeter game. Guys like J Rich, Turkolu, Reddick, and Anderson fill it up. Put simply, Orlando hits their outside shots, they could win outright. They are cold, they don't cover. I think they can hit enough to keep it inside 8.
PC 2** on Orlando +8.
I have a 4 and 3 star coming later in the week. I'm all over two traditional doormats in games where I think the total is going to be way off the mark. I'm starting with the Magic on Xmas day.

Well, we pushed although I did get 8 1/2 from my local. Anyways...
0-0-1 ATS
Tonight I have two I like:
Charlotte over 180 with Milwaukee. I like this Charlotte team from an ATS perspective and I think they have some surprises early in the season. I knew this total would be low, I think it's going to get blown out of the water. Not a huge write up here. I could talk about Kemba but I'm not going to bother. You look at the Bobcat's starting 5 and think this is a defense first team. I see Maggette and Walker making this team much more potent offensivelyl. Milwaukee will run and gun with Jennings and Jackson running the 1 and 2 and Bogut is a legit threat inside. I just think the number should be more around 192.
PC 3*** on over 180
OKC @ Minnesota
Again, I'm taking the over. I see 209 and people will think the under might be the play because Minny had some trouble scoring last year. I look at this Twolves team and with new addition Williams from Zona (god I loved him filling it up last year in college) Rubio back from Europe, the monster K Love down low, and a host of role players, Minny should not have trouble finding points this year. We just saw OKC put up 95 against Orlando in a game they should have scored 110. Minny doesn't play great defense, this game should soar over the total.

Lines moving the other way, which I expected. Hoping I'm dead on for my thoughts on these two.

I can't help myself on these two plays, I just have to take them:
Boston @ Miami
I will take the 9 1/2 on the Celtics, even without Pierce. I love the Heat, they are my team, but Boston always plays them well. They covered the 5 at the Garden without Pierce, and he should be back for this one. The Heat are now playing an uptempo run and gun game (at least they did against the mavs) Boston match's up well and is one of the better defensive teams. I have to take Boston with this many points but going small since it smells like a trap.
PC 1.5** on Boston + 9 1/2
Utah @ Lakers
I am hitting up that over. 187 seems awful low especially with a Jazz team that I think has gotten better offensively. Gordon Heyward is gonna be a star in this league (at least I'm banking on it fantasy wise) and I think Utah will force LA into a running game. Lakers need to put up a big game after the loss at home on Xmas to DRose and the Bulls. I think this one hits the over.

Let's roll:
I really like three plays on the board tonight:
Boston -2 1/2 @ New Orleans
I have personally hit on Boston for their first two games (one posted) and think they get their first win tonight. This team is playing very tough mentally. I hate the Celtics, I'm a HEAT fan, but the way Miami couldn't knock them out tonight leads me to believe boston can get it done tonight on a back to back. With that being said, the low line scares me a little bit. Playing it small.
PC 2** on Boston -2 1/2 over New Orleans
Utah @ Denver
God, did anyone see the goosegg that was the Utah offense against the Lakers? I'm not buying they are that bad offensively. The Lake Show was 0-2 and absolutely had to have a win and new coach Mike Brown is always a defense first kind of guy. Tonight, Utah goes against the Nuggets and let's look at the trends:
**The over is 6-1 ATS in Denver in the last 7 in this series @ Denver.
**In five of the last 6 games at Denver between the two, Utah has gone over 102 points. In terms of the total listed, this game would be 6-0 ATS on the over.
I know there are a lot of changes on both rosters, notably the subtractions of Deron Willams, AK 47, and Melo. However, with that being said, Andre Miller and Ty Lawson are two guys who can push it at the point. Do you guys remember how happy Denver's head coach was with what he got in exchange for the Melo trade? Denver has offensive talent and I still think they are a defensive pansy. I'm going on the over in Utah again, if it fails miserably, then I'm off this team for what i think they can do.
PC 3*** on Denver/Utah over 202
Miami @ Charlotte
Man, the Heat are running and gunning. How fun is it to watch this team go up and down. Charlotte is more offensive minded and we hit on the over on them already this year. Not a huge write up here. I think we see Charlotte get after it with Miami pulling away. I'm not expecting a defensive battle, in fact the opposite. Kemba and company get it going but can't hold it late.

Sunday night:
I'm taking Portland against the Clippers. Sure, the Clips have some serious talent, but so does Portland and the Blazers play much better defense. Ray Felton, Wesley Mathews, and LaMarcus Aldridge are all solid ballers and I think the depth is better for Portland too. The Clippers have had a lot of hype but still have come out of the gate 1-2. They will get better, but tonight, I'm backing the Blazers.
PC 2.5 ** on Portland +4
1 star plays:
**I like Charlotte to stay within the 14 of Miami....PC 1* on Charlotte +14
**I like Dallas to cover the 3 at Minny....PC 1* on Dallas -3
Have a good one players.

Saturday Night NBA:
I'm taking 2 one of them big:
Ride with me on OKC and Houston over 202. These two teams light it up when they play each other. OKC can get it going with anyone and Houston will run when given the opportunity. The Rockets defense is one of the worst in the league. Their PG, Kevin Martin loves to run. I'm taking the over.
PC 4**** on Houston/OKC over 202
Charlotte @ Indiana
The pacers are coming off a big win at Boston and I think this is a classic let down scenario. Charlotte has some scorers and can play defense. I am very impressed with their new center Mullens who is playing extremely well. In addition, Kemba comes off the bench and is getting better and better. I don't see any reason to chase the high chalk.
PC 2.5 on Charlotte + 10 1/2
