PC's England Premier 2010-2011

I will be on this thread all year on GP...think I'm ready for the start of the season.

2010-2011 season record: 0-0 ATS 4 plays pending

6:30 AM CST

ManCity vs. Tottenham Hotspur (ESPN 2)

Easily the best game of opening day. A battle between two teams who fought until the last weekend for the right to UEFA champions league last season. City is loaded with talent, but played terribly on the USA tour. They have all stars in the back (Richards, Lescott, Boateng brought in from Barcelona) stars in the midfield and strike force (Tevez, a healthy Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Craig Bellamy and emerging Jo) and should be one of the top offensive threats in the EPL. Spurs are solid too though with Jermaine Defoe leading the way. I really expect a high scoring game because newly acquired keeper Joe Hart looks terrible and Spurs are not going to get shut out at home to start the season. I'm taking the over and expect a 2-2 or 3-2 result or 3-1 result

PC 2** on Man City/Spurs over 2 1/2 +115

West Ham vs. Aston Villa

9:00 AM CST (Fox Soccer Channel)

Man, this line is soft. Villa had a good season and West ham did nothing during the transfer market. Villa will attack and win this game to start the campaign. No way in hell Ham pulls the upset. They might squeak a tie (which would be a loss) but I fully expect Villa to be in the top 7 this year and expect them to start with a win against the Hammers.

PC 2** on Aston Villa -130

9:00 AM CST (no TV)

UPSET ALERT:

I'm all over Stoke City to surprise Wolverhampton and get the win today. Stoke is consistent and getting better every year. Ricardo Fuller is my gambling hero as he time and time again bulges the net to cash for me. Wolverhampton barely saved themselves from relegation while Stoke finished 11'th out of the 20 league team. Tony Pulis is the most underrated manager in the EPL and I expect him to get the win today. The best striker on Wolves, Kevin Doyle, is probably out with bleeding in the calf and Stoke is deeper than they have ever been with the record signing of Kenwyne Jones up front to partner with my boy Ricardo. I'm taking Stoke to get the win on the road.

PC 2** on Stoke City +185 to win in 90 minutes

Wigan Athletic vs FC Blackpool

9:00 AM CST

Small bet on Wigan to TCOB vs. recently promoted Blackpool. It's going to be one and done for Blackpool as they made a surprise run in the championship to get to the big time. They simply don't have the talent to play at this level. Wigan barely survived relegation but they started last season gangbusters and with early games looming against Spurs, Chelsea, and Man City in 3 of their next 4, they know they need the 3 full points on opening day.

PC 1.5* units to win in 90 minutes -130

8/14 recap:

Mancity over 2 1/2 +115 (2units

Wigan Athletic -130 (unit

Aston Villa -130 (2units

Stoke City+185 (2units

All games are 90 minutes, a draw is a loss

Not a epl game but going to jump on game 1 of the Bundesliga.  We have the top team in Germany starting the season off at home and cant see them starting the season with a draw or loss.  Playing the high juice on this.

    190 to win 100  Bayern Munchen -.5

I would say we got lucky but i think that happens alot in this game.  Winning goal in the 90th minute.

    EPL 2-0 +300

    Bundesliga 1-0 +100

PC. looking forward to your post tomorrow. Was with you on the villa game but think they will be a different team without Milner now.  Not sure Ireland is the same player Milner is.

    EPL week 2:

I have two this week. Bad first week, but it's a long season:

    Everton/Wolves under 2 1/2 -130

Both teams were surprises to me in first week. I think we see a low scoring game and Howard is feeling the heat as the #1 keeper for the Toffies. Wolves looked good to open the season but they will be wise to bunker in and not take any chances on the road at Goodison Park. I'm taking the under.

    2** on under 2 1/2 -30

    Chelsea/Wigan over 3 +110

Chelsea was absolutely dominant and the offense was healthy and cranking. I can't see Wigan getting it done after giving up four goals to recently promoted Blackpool at home. Can the team make that many tactical changes in one week against a Chelsea team that put up 7 goals? They will undoubtedly play 11 behind the line but Anelka/Drogba and company should get us this over on their own.

    PC 2** on over 3 +110

1-3 start -3.8 units on the year

Will have a 3*** on Man City/Pool on Monday.

    Monday 2:00 PM CST

Manchester City (my team) vs. Liverpool

My boys have spent more money than all of MLS salary, and they have incredible talent. However, with that being said, Liverpool is no slouch. City is happy to have depth as they had to play a tough Europa league away game on Thursday and now get a top 4 contender in Liverpool at Eastlands. Tevez, Silva, Milner, Balotelli, Toure, Boateng, so many new players to gel together in such a short time.

Liverpool still has a strong nucleus but I don't expect Fernando Torres to play and they will be missing a key piece of the puzzle in Joe Cole, who saw the red card against Arsenal last week. (By the way, how about Arsenal? Shoey, I think Arsenal might be the best challenge to Chelsea, not your boys!) They still have Stevie G and some great transfers, but this is already a must win game for City. With that being said, I'm taking the under. Here's an interesting stat:

Stats: Five of the last seven games between the two sides have ended in a draw, with three of those finishing goalless at 0-0.

Man City has firepower and lots of it. But Liverpool is strong defensively and Joe Hart looked incredible in goal against Spurs last week. I learned my lesson in a loss last week. While City has incredible players, it's going to take some time for them to gel. Adebayor and Tevez should feature up front with Milner replacing Ireland in the midfield, and on paper, that's really strong. But these guys just haven't played together so I'm expecting an under today as City looks to defend their turf at Eastland.

    PC 3*** on City/Liverpool under 2 +105 (a tie is a push)

    PC1* on the draw +215

    5-3  +165

Serie A starts tomorrow. Taking two plays, one sat and one sun.

    Roma -1 -1.5 for 1 unit  -125

    Milan -1 -1.5 for 1 unit -120

Epl. going to stay on Chelsea until they show other wise.

    Chelsea -2.5 for 1 unit -105

    Arsenal -.5 -1 for 1 unit -115

Also like Chelsea over 2.5 but juice is at -333.  I'm going to play it but not counting. Just an oponion.

    Sunday EPL:

Didn't like the board on Saturday, heavy juice all the way around.

    Sunday:

I'm taking Villa under 2 1/2 -35 for 2 units. Milner's move to City and Ireland's move to Villa make the midfield unsettling for AV. Everton always seems to start the season slow and this year is no exception. Arteta has been non existent and I think Villa will play more cautiously on the road.

    PC 2** on under 2 1/2 -35 in Villa

    Man City -120

My boys look to stay undefeated in the EPL and they should get by Sunderland today. On the road Man City doesn't look hot but they did get a point at White Hart Lane and Sunderland is not in that class. I expect City to get it done.

2** on City to win in 90 minutes -120

EPL RECORD: 3-5 ATS -3.6 units on the campaign.

    Saturday 9/4:

No plays this weekend. The boys were playing Euro qualifiers. See ya next week.

Small play on Kansas City to beat Philly in MLS. The Wiz are hot and have a remote shot at the playoffs. I've got one big unit on it but not counting on record.

Went 1-2 but hit the big boy this morning. Lost 4.2 on saturday, won 4 units today on Pool/United over in a thriller game.

Shoey, Arsenal sure didn't look like the team we saw earlier in the year. Slight hiccup but they are going to be top4 this year barring injury.

    Sunday 10-24

I am playing the over 2 1/2 +105 in Arsenal Man City at Man City. This is a huge game in the premiership. City is only 2 points back of Chelsea and needs a win to stay 2 points back. Arsenal is right behind them and both teams must get the W. I see too much firepower to keep this game under the number. Joe Hart has been incredible in goal for City but Arsenal will be throwing the kitchen sink at them. I think they score at least one goal and since I think City will win or draw, my bet is on the over. Carlos Tevez leads the premiership in goals scored and this team has so much talent that they aren't going to get blanked at home where they score a full 1.2 goals more a game. Roll with me on city over 2 1/2 +110

    3 units to win 3.3

Opinion: I don't care what the goal line is, the signing of Rooney is huge for United and they will be playing with a pep to their step. Since I'm a MCFC fan, I will NEVER bet on united even when I think it's the play. but look for united to win by at least 2 goals Sunday AM early.
