PC's big card on Monday
Too late to send to BP, here's my card tonight, I'm playing it exactly as I got it layed out.
CBB:
Wichita State +6 against Pitt. The Panthers are in serious rebuild mode with all 5 starters gone or injured. Wichita State came on strong last year and won 8 out of their last 10 and beat 3 post season teams. This team will have a huge fan base in nearby KC for the pre season tourney. The Shockers are loaded with young talent and a nice mix of returning players. the MVC scores again early in the season.
2** on Wichita State
I gotta take Texas to cover the 15 against Iowa. Iowa lost everybody, I mean everybody to transfer or graduation. Their coach is not well liked amongst last year's players and all the talent left. One returning starter and now they go against national power Texas who has the kitchen cupboards full. I love Dexter Pittman and he's lost 20 pounds to be the inside force Texas needs to contend with Cole Aldrich later this year. Abrams is back and they have a slew of talent who got loads of minutes last year. I think Texas wins this one by 25+++ tonight. Iowa has had troubles with patsies and UT is blowing out everyone they should so far. Texas gets us that cover.
2** on Longhorns -15
NBA:
Sactown +6. Going against a memphis team they beat in OT. This team has been an ATS machine. I lost on them last time out but I don't think I will tonight getting 6 in Memphis. They have serious injury issues with Kevin martin and Tyreke out, but looking at the roster, they still have Spencer Hawes and Beno Udrih contributing. Memphis has Marc Gasol and a few other players who are scoring, but the Queens have been an ATS force (except for the one game I took them against the Bulls) and they have a shot at the SU win. I gotta play the Queens again.
2** on Sac Town +6
SA/Mil over 193
Have you heard of Brandon Jennings? You will by the end of the year. The man is a lock for ROY if he keeps this up. The Bucks are one of the surprises of the early season and they have done it with scoring. The Spurs finally got Timbo back in the middle, but they are not the defensive stalwarts we are used to seeing. No more Bruce Bowen, and they have added offensive talent, not defensive in the off season. They had to do it to compete with the likes of the high flyers in the West and I don't think it's all that bad. I look for the Bucks to get us that over and San Antonio to not play the defense we usually see in the Alamo dome. Watch Jennings tonight, the kid is special.
2** on over 193
Portalnd under 183
The Bulls are in town and the Blazers are a defensive juggernaut. I watched 4 games so far this year and the team is very slow tempo oriented. The blazers like to utilize 1/2 court sets and I see more of the same tonight. The Bulls 4 pass offense of whipping it around the outside is not going to work tonight and that speaks well for the under. Rose is still hobbled by his bum ankle, and hasn't posted the numbers we are used to seeing on him. Noah has been great inside for the Bulls but Oden is among the league leaders in shot blocks. I think the Bulls will have to win with outside shooting and no one defende the perimeter better than Portland so far this year. Let's roll the under.
PC 2** on Portland under 183
More college:
I'm taking Montana to cover the 15 against Oregon. The Ducks usually have a great team, but did you know they went 8-20 last year. Did you know they lost to Portland (A PC play last week) Pilots? This team is garbage and will be lucky to get to double digits in wins. If Montana stays disciplined their pre season all american candidate Anthony Johnson wil make Oregon pay. The Grizzlies return 3 starters while Oregon had one of their worst recruiting classes of the last 20 years. I wish I had the nuts to lay on Montana ML, but I don't. I do have the cajones to take the points though. oregon is 3-1 but big fricken deal. They beat Mighty Winston Salem State, Colorado State (22 losses last year) and mighty UC Davis. As I called it last week, Portland had their number and did for most of the game. The Grizzlies can run as evidenced against a 90+ point effort against Boise State, and they can slow it down (64-63 win over loyola Marymount) I'm taking Montana as my Blue Light special play tonight on a game you can't find coverage on to save your life. (and i have every basketball channel available in America!)
2** on Montana +14
