Lets be honest -- The Cowboys win against Georgia was quite impressive. The eight returning offensive starters including the dynamic SR QB Robinson, WR Bryant and RB Hunter combined for 38 TDs in 2008. This week they are not playing that stingy Bulldog defense but a Cougar defense that allowed 31 PPG last year and only returns 5 on defense (ouch). The influence of new DC Bill Young (Mia F), the Cowboys defense will be a slightly improved over last year.
The Cougars return eight on offense including the Conference Player of the Year QB Keenum. This kid threw 44 TDs while leading the nation in total offense last year. In fact, 86% of the offense is back from last year's team. They also return their stud RB Beall who lead the C-USA in scoring with 102 points and WR Carrier who posted 9 TDs. The defense which allowed 31 PPG lost some key personnel.
Last year these teams combined for 93 points as the Cowboys won 56-37 as 16 point favorites in Stillwater. Let the fireworks begin!!
