Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, and that was the case Saturday as I cashed a winner with the Marlins on the runs line. Great late comeback and than the miracle 11th inning crooked number snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. I'll take it, and with the full knowledge I'll have one go the other way and will complain all night about it when it happens. In any case, I will make the same play today and I don't expect to need any luck here. Chris Volstad has been terrific for the Fish, and he's been electrifying on the road ever since making the show, with a 5-1. 1.84 ledger. Daniel Cabrera will tease every once in awhile with a big game when he has his command, but those are few and far between. It's no small note that the confidence level of these two teams has to be night and day right now. Plus, the Nats are having problems with some of the players, as Milledge has been sent to the minors and Dukes showed up late for the game yesterday and got fined. No surprise, really, as that's what happens when you employ players other teams didn't want for just these reasons. Look for the red hot Marlins to win comfortably today, and once again go for the underdog odds by laying the runs with Florida.

Today's winner is the Baltimore/Boston OVER.
Both teams combine for 17 OVERS, 4 UNDERS, and 1 Push this season. The O's games average 16.8 RPG on the road while the Red Sox games average 10.4 RPG at home. The Oriole's come into this game with 6 straight OVERS and the Red Sox have 7 straight OVERs. Baltimore sends Koji Uehara to the mound. He is 2-0 with a 7.20 ERA overall, including an ERA of 12.60 in his only away appearance. Boston has Jon Lester going today. He is 0-2 on the season with a 9.00 ERA including a 7.00 ERA at home. The left-hander's last 2 starts were both OVERs. With both teams crushing the ball and both starters prone to giving up runs, this is an OVER play. Thank you.

This game is priced more like the middle of last year when these two teams were going in totally opposite directions. That's not the story at all this year, as the Padres come into this game a very "live" dog.
The Padres have complied a 9-4 record start to the season while playing what ESPN.com ranks the 2nd hardest schedule to date in the sites daily RPI rankings. In fact the same poll has the Padres ranked the #1 team in all of baseball as of Sunday evening. The Phillies on the other hand have been one of the bigger disappointments thus far going 5-6 in playing what ESPN.com calls the 2nd easiest schedule so far on the year.
The Padres were one inning away from being up 3-0 on the road in this series. They turned to Edwin Moreno in the last inning instead of their normal closer Heath Bell who has been lights out so far this year but he was forced to sit out in this one and rest after 3 straight days of use. Moreno ended up giving up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning, blowing the save and the Padres hopes of a 3-0 series lead.
This is just to tempting of a price to pass on here with a team playing as well as the Padres are. Take the juicy dog price in this one today.

Colorado starter Jason Marquis has allowed just 3 runs total in his first two starts winning both games. The Rockies are 10-4 after scoring two or less runs in their last game. Marquis is 18-7 when his team is off loss. Arizona Jon Garland has allowed 10 runs in 10.2 innings of work in his first two starts. The Diamondbacks are 3-9 their last 12 games vs. pitchers with a WHIP of less than 1.15 and they are 0-4 their 4 games as home favorites. 10* PLAY ON COLORADO + (Marqius vs. Garland)
