Here we go! The Sun Belt Championship Game. Funny enough tonight we have to choose 1 from the 2 who cashed for us last night! For me, when its South Alabama and Western Kentucky, it is a very hard task. I love these 2 teams, and like I said in my writeup last night, both of these teams have tougher years in front of them with the rise of talent in the belt. But we are now focusing on tonight! On the game that I said last night WE WOULD SEE one more time around! #1 seeded Western Kentucky vs. #6 seeded South Alabama! These are the KINGS of the Sun Belt the last couple years, even though South Bama's #'s aren't as dominant as years past. But both of these teams have showed it in these big games, to get to the Big Belt Game! As up to this point, you still do not know who I am backing, but from here on out, you will! After MUCH thought, I have decided to take the team that I feel is just a bit more complete. Western Kentucky has more playmakers, and I have to give the edge to Western Kentucky tonight. -4 is a respectable line, where as if this line was -1/-2 I would have reason to think SBama would win (losing 2x to WKY this yr already). But -4 is respectable, and I can see WKY winning a close one covering this spread late. The Public is HEAVY on WKY tonight, but the public has been HEAVY on WKY this whole tournament, and have covered them all. I hate heavy public, but I have to agree with the public in this one. Most Vegas Casinos have this game at -4.5, but most online books have -4. When I look at this WKY roster, I truly see points for every angle. Orlando Mendez-Valdez had a horrible night last night, so I can see 15-20 easily from him tonight. AJ Slaughter is simply a stud 8 out of 10 nights, Sergio Kerusch was simply outstanding with 23 pts and 10 reb (meaning he will be playing with a whole lot of swagger tonight), and then Pettigrew and Evans can handle their end. South Alabama has Tilford who is without a doubt outstanding, but they don't have the luxury WKY has in a more "balanced" offense. Put it this way, if Tilford has an off day, that drastically hurts this team, but if Slaughter or Valdez have off days (as Valdez did last night) others step up. Its a more spread out talent, even though Slaughter and Valdez are studs without a doubt! Watching South Alabama last night, I saw keys on why they did not have as dominant of a year this year as years prior. They don't seem as crisp, and are a little bit sloppy. They take alot of time off the clock to set up their offense, which is very reminiscent of an Air Force type Offense. As an example of sloppiness, Tilford had a great offensive game, but did lose the ball 7 times for turnovers. Tilford also likes to attack the basket which is a good thing, but tonight he has Evans and Kerusch who won't be easy to get by down under. This "should" be a Great Sun Belt game tonight, but I have to take Western Kentucky to pull away late to cover the spread and DANCE! Best of Luck!

BP Sun Belt Championship 3* Western Kentucky -4 (WIN)

@ 7.30PM we have North Texas playing Western Kentucky, and the winner goes to the Sun Belt Championship Game! When I think of the Sun Belt Championship game, I think of the South Alabama and Western Kentucky, but I must say the Sun Belt Conference has had alot of good notes with Denver, North Texas, Arkie LR, and so forth, even FIU wasn't a push over. Anyways, the game we have in front of us should be a good one tonight in the first of the 2! When I look at this game, I see North Texas with the Edge on Overall Offense, but I see Western Kentucky with the significant edge on Defense. I think the Defensive side off the ball is the more important # here. Western Kentucky is no slouch on offense either, with Salughter and Mendez and crew spreading that ball around. Western Kentucky played a tougher SOS, so their #'s hold more water. These 2 teams did meet in January, where WKY won by 4. To tell you the truth, I see them winning by more than that tonight, My #'s have WKY winning by 6+. Rebounding was a big WKY advantage in that first game where they outrebounded them 33-20. WKY is the team with more big game experience in this one, and I expect them to win this one and cover the #.

BP 2* Western Kentucky -3.5 (WIN 77-70)

@ 10 PM, immediately after the above game, we have the other half of the Sun Belt Games! South Alabama and Arkansas LR battle to play in the Sun Belt Championship. You know where I am going by this next statement, "The Sun Belt Championship will be Western Kentucky v. South Alabama!" I truly believe that both of these teams have 1 more year in them before all of this other young talent take over the Sun Belt Conference. Denver in the next 3-4 years is going to run this division, along with these Arki's and North Texas' and so forth. But as far as this year is concerned I am saying that WKY & USA will be playing in the Championship one last time before their studs move on! South Alabama and Arki LR ... what can I say, Arki LR should not be in this game right now. Denver out played them, but let down late to lose that game in the final minute. Tonight, a much more "experienced & mature" team in South Alabama are not going to let that happen. They will win this game tonight Straight UP. When I saw that line +2.5/+2 early on, and said sh*t my #'s have USA winning this game. The Truth is, in this game, if you look at most of the overall data, the #'s say Ark LR ... South Alabama had a relatively weak year, and did not perform like the USA's of past, but once again I said yesterday, and as I said earlier this week, #'s are only part of the equation this time of the year, maturity and big game experience is another, and I would say South Alabama, off a weak year, will still play in the big SB game! They cashed for us last night, and will cash for us tonight!

BP 2* South Alabama +2 (WIN 54-44)

@ 1.30 we have FIU taking on Western Kentucky! Western Kentucky come in the #1 sead on their side, while FIU comes in the #8 sead! In the first game of the tourney, I said FIU was finally healthy with their starting lineup, and it would show... it did with them not only covering but winning SU! Today, I am going to stick to that last writeup I had from that first game, and take the lott of points in this one. Western Kentucky is favored 9.5 in this one, and obviously they are the top team, the name in the conference. They just beat FIU by 13, but like I said, FIU has a different team on the floor right now. FIU keeps it close today!

BP 2* FIU +9.5 (loss 48-66)

@ 730PM I am also taking the Dog Play! Denver is the youngest team in the Sun Belt, but they have had a great season! One of the best ATS teams, found a way to always be in the game. Keeping it low scoring, Denver actually had the best shooting % in the conference. Home Fave's have not done well in the SunBelt Tourney in years past, and this is a close to home game for Arki Little Rock. Win or Lose, I like Denver to stay close in this game. Low Scoring, and tight Game!

BP 2* Denver +7.5 (WIN 55-58)

@10.30 we have what should make to be a great game! I waited because I wanted to see what kind of line movement we would get, and let me tell you, we got exactly what I expected. Troy v. South Alabama! Troy beat South Alabama 2 times this year, swept their series this season. First Blew them out, then slightly beat them recently. Tonight they play yet again, but this time in the Sun Belt Conference Tourney. When I saw this line come out at a pk, I loved South Alabama, a team with alot of Big Game experience (especially Tilford as a Senior) ... but I wanted to see what the public would play and what it would do to the line. Public Joe is 70+% on Troy (I would say since Troy beat them 2x already ,it looks easy) ... with all of that public on Troy, the line when the wrong way making South Bama the -1 favorite at this point with less than 30 of the % on them. I love it! #'s and current trends favor Troy in this game, but at this point in the season, you have to feel it out and read the game more. Lets roll South Bama to hopefully win tonight, and revive the very possible Western Kentucky South Bama series again!

BP 3* South Alabama -1 (WIN 78-75)

Tonight in the SUN BELT Conference Tournament we have "THE BATTLE TO PLAY WESTERN KENTUCKY". The winner of FIU @ ULL plays Western Kentucky in Round 2. ULL is favored 5.5/6 in this one. ULL owns this series from head to toe, and even beat FIU by 17 earlier this season, hence why they have home court tonight. FIU's road record this season is disgusting. After beating FIU In ULL by 17 this season as 7.5 pt faves, tonight they are in ULL again but this time the line is less. Looks like ULL is the "EASY" play here. As an FIU ALUM, I follow this team closely, and trust me that hasn't been easy this year, but I know this team, and one thing that differs tonight from most of this season, including that 17 pt loss to ULL, is the team is HEALTHY, the studs are all in place, and ready to play tonight! With FIU's Starting 5 all gelling together (just whooped up on FAU), healthy as ever, this team could give ULL a good fight tonite. With that being said, I like FIU to be in this game. I would not book on the fact of ULL hitting another 14 3's tonight as they did earlier this season against FIU I like Asprilla, Galindo, Russell, Soto, and Gacesa to out play ULL's strong 3. I wish the #'s were more on our side so we could play this large, but that is not the case, therefore, we will play this @ 2*'s tonight! My #'s do have FIU within 5 pts today, but the history and road #'s do not favor us, but I am putting alot of weight on how healthy this team is now, which is a first this season!
