NBA Picks for Sat. Jan. 17
PC, nice grab on the Magic last night and good overall NBA night! Orlando has actually surprised me with the way it has played this year, but I have to see what this team is all about when it comes to the playoffs. The Magic have been nothing but a regular season team up to this point. We will see if they have what it takes to compete with the two big dogs when it counts.
NEW JERSEY +7 (I see the Celts ATS road woes continuing here with the Nets maybe sneaking out a win)
MIAMI +4 (the Rockets need McGrady and Artest back soon or they are in a lot of trouble; the pub. is smashing the Rockets here and the line isn't moving up.....yet; that low line should tell us all something)
DENVER +1 (the Magic have killed me so far this season but Denver is always a tough place to play on the second of back-to-back games; Orlando has been dynamite on the road but the Nuggets have been just as stellar at home; even without Melo, I think they get it done; it's amazing how much better this team is with Chauncey on the squad)
L.A. CLIPPERS +3.5 (they are all banged up, but they are still hanging around in half of their games during this 12 game losing streak to almost all playoff teams; Thornton has been a beast this year and Gordon has had a solid start to his NBA career; I like the Clips in this spot, catching the up-and-down Bucks on back-to-back road games)
