I'm still leaning towards re-investing last night's winnings on Utah -10 but I want to look into it more.
I had to lay off posting for a while because I was feeling jinxed. I have gotten back on the pony with a couple of good weeks and feel better.
Tonight we have the Utah Utes (ever seen a Ute?) against the New Mexico Lobos. The line opened with Utah 91/2 point favs and the line now stands at 10. O/U is 48.
Utah has been touted as a possible "BCS Buster" by the media and looked impressive before a national audience with a shalacking of Texas A&M 41-21. The Utes are 4-0 albeit against less than average competition. Alex Smith is the 14th ranked Utah leader at QB where the Utes avg 40+pts per game and over 460 ypg. He is 13-1 as a starter and guess who is responsible for the lone loss....if you guessed the LOBOS you've just won a new CAR!!! Not really, but revenge will be on the Utes mindafter a 47-35 whooping last year at Utah. Meanwhile, the Lobos come in at 2-2 against a little better competition. They lead the MAC in defense allowing a paltry 66 ypg on the ground and only giving up 16 pts per game. Mew Mexico took a big hit last week when Dontrell Moore was hurt with a strained knee (he was the MAC leadding rusher). While the Lobos won't dazzle you with offense their solid defense keeps them in the game and they are clock eaters on offense. ATS notes seem to favor NM as well as they are 11-3 against conf opponents, and Utah has lost to NM the last two times they were ranked. Also Utah hasn't won in Alberquerque since 1998. In a match of the MAC's best offense against the best defense, I'll take the points......and the home team.....
