NBA Picks for Wed. May 21

It was a mirage last night! Don't be fooled by that performance by the C's! I'm serious here. They had the extra adrenaline carry over into Game 1 last night. Watch what the Pistons do to them in Game 2. Ray Allen is still nonexistent. KG and PP must have huge games every night if the C's are going to have any chance to win. I don't think that will happen. The Pistons D will clamp down in Game 2. Don't expect the C's to shoot over 50% in the next game, or anywhere near that. Definitely expect Billups to take it to Rondo in Game 2. This is supposed to be the huge mismatch in favor of the Pistons. Is Chauncey still laboring right now? We will see in Game 2.

Opinion:

L.A. LAKERS -7 (what shall we expect in Game 1?; will the Spurs struggle because of their flight troubles? nah, they will struggle b/c the Lakers have been solid at home so far in the playoffs; Kobe and crew should wear them out in the fourth quarter; the line seems a bit high, but that may be telling us something here; I will stay away and enjoy the action)

Series Play:

L.A. LAKERS -270 (after all my talk about never doubting the Spurs, I choose to roll with the Lakers; hmmm, why?; for starters, the Lakers have the home court edge, which has obviously been huge in these playoffs; Kobe is the greatest player on the planet right now and he has plenty of playoff experience; this team has finally come together this year, with a couple of key additions; Gasol definitely pushes this team over the top; in my opinion, they are just a better team than the Spurs this year; they definitely know how to lose in the playoffs; just ask the Suns, who ousted them in the first round in back-to-back years; the Lakers are definitely ready to compete for another title)

Series Prediction:

Lakers in 7

  1. I booked both the Spurs for the series and the Spurs in 6 games for a nice payout prop.

GL...Spurs are gonna dismantle the Lake Show. Denver and Utah while the Spurs had the Suns and Mavs...we'll see, but the tight games will go to San Antonio.

I agree with your assessment of game 2 east coast. Pistons are gonna make it happen in Beantown in game 2.
