NBA Picks for Mon. May 5
Big Mess, I think that Game 7 was over right after the starting lineups were announced. Now it's time for the C's to get down to business. And of course, every dimented fan here in Cleveland thinks the Cavs can win now. Yeah right! Are they worth a series play? (like PC did with the Hawks) Maybe. But I don't think the Cavs are winning this series. They are worse than they were last year and they are playing a better team here. I really don't think people realize how good this C's team was this year. I had some doubts even later in the regular season, but this team plays awesome defense. The question is: Can they keep it up consistently? If they do, they will win the title.
Play:
SAN ANTONIO +2.5 (I'd actually buy this one up to 3 if you get 2.5, although I think the Spurs will win; adjustment time; who else is better?; nobody; the Spurs were crushed on the boards in Game 1; that won't happen again in this game; Duncan will bounce back in a big way; you can expect Pop to go to him early and often; and oh yeah, West won't get close to 30 in this one; and the 50% the Hornets shot in Game 1, forget about it, that's not happening either; could be a PO, but I very rarely PO on the road in the playoffs)
ML Play:
SAN ANTONIO +120 (I'm hitting both the ML and side b/c it's almost a PO play for me; otherwise, I would recommend to roll with just the ML)
Opinion:
DETROIT -6 (I would expect much of what we saw in Game 1; the Pistons appear to be focused right now, and the Magic will need to hit the long ball to have any chance in this one)
