4-5 ATS after post on 4.15.08
Here's my card tonight:
Side note: If I don't post the Handicapping contest game, I'm on it anyways for my standard 2 units. But I'm not counting those and you guys know BP and I both advocate not playing a lot of games in one day or session of gambling. (All though I had my days in the tourney with 9 to 11 plays in all sports, so yeah, I'm guilty too). Anyways, I'll post two daily on GP until other things get going. Slow start for me, but I'll take it with the wacky start to the year.
Some PC notes on the season:
**Did you notice 8 former all stars have hit the DL by week 3.
**Zona is 8-2 in their last 10..and haven't been more than -175 to open in any of those 10 games.
**Washington has scored 16 runs in the last 7 games..do the math...see write up below. They are also 1-9 in that stretch.
**As a big totals fan, the trend is for warm weather to open up scoring. Cities in the midwest without domes or enclosure (Kansas City, both Chicagos, etc) STAY AWAY FROM THE OVER UNTIL MAY. Even though Texas and Atlanta might start jacking it, wait until warm weather to consistently go over in cold cities. I know it sounds wacky but I eliminate 1/2 my card on totals in about 5 seconds every day.
Tonights Action:
Game of the Week:
4 units on under 9 1/2 -115 ( I would take to 8 1/2)
Risking 4.6 to win 4 units
Washington, as mentioned above, can't score. Why? Is it the stadium? Can't be PC..they just built a new one for the Nats and the ball is supposed to carry well? Are the Nats hurt like always? Nope, they have everyone including Zimm and Johnson and a bunch of solid 2nd tier hitters?
The Nats are terribly coached. As a glutton of punishment, I like rooting for cellar dwellers (GO ROYALS..what's our magic number?) and I have taken a hankering to the Nats.
Anyways, they haven't broken 5 runs but 3 times this year. That translates to a lack of big innings. Makes sense doesn't it? Mets have some big bats but you would be surprised to know the Met's pitching is ranked 6'th in MLB in ERA with a 3.41 ledger.
The pub is at 90% plus on the over figuring a fill in starter for the Mets and Lannon for the Nats will give it up. I don't think so..and Slam or Hippy or any New Yorker..give me a weather update if you have a chance..but I love this under tonight in Shea hopefully with the wind blowing in.
Let's roll
PC's first Game of the Week:
Washington/New York Mets under 9 1/2
Listed must go
4.6 units to win 4 units
Play #2:
(also in contest)
KC over 9 1/2 -105
Listed must go
2.1 to win 2 units
As I always tell Como in our fantasy draft, remember the Royals/Halos tilts on the over. As a trend (one of three I throw at GP every year..remember the Giants over at home after the all star break) this one is usually cash money and in the 4'th year of mention at GP. Scared to death of pub number on the over and Hilly (a good capper) is on the under, but I'll take my chances with the first two games in the series split on the total. Tomko is bound to get drilled and a vet lineup like the Halos is probably the one to do it. Even though I'm a Garland fan, his 3 games this year have all gone over easily.
