2008 MLB FUTURE (Yankees OVER 93.5)

Alright gang (everyone except Big Papi Messy)

Lets ride with the YANKEES OVER 93.5 wins (-110)

1) We only need to get to 94 wins? If my memory serves me right.... the Yanks number has been somewhere between 96 and 99 wins the past few years. We use to have to bet on the Yanks getting to 100 wins, and now we only need 94, talk about a discount.

2) Skipper Joe G has lit a fire on this club. Better conditioned and a better clubhouse atmosphere IMO. This is a ballclub that wont get off to a slow start again this year. Yanks historically close well.

Yes, the Duncan slide into 2nd was a cheap shot. But, I like the fire. Havent seen that kinda fire in pinstripes since Paulie O'.

3) Ill tell ya, ever couple days I check into the Yanks spring training games and theres another 4-5 innings of shutout ball by a Yankee pitcher. Even the MOOSE! I think Hughes and Kennedy will be solid starters this season. No, were not Boston, but Wang / Pettitte / Huges / Kennedy / Mussina...... I ask you, name 5 better starting 5 rotations? Joba and Rivera..... I ask you, name a better 1-2 punch in the pen? And if you tell me Wang isnt a good pitcher, dont even bother responding (ill grant you his playoff record is poor, but were wagering on reg season wins here).

4) Dont be surprised to see the Yanks go after a pitcher during the season this year. I dont think it will be him, but the name Oswalt just popped in my head. The new Steinbrenner is reminding me of his pops, and I can see the early 2000's Yankee mid season acquisition back this year. Lets see who it will be!

5) Most feared lineup in baseball, nough said.

6) Wins since 2000:

07 - 95

06 - 98

05 - 97

04 - 107

03 - 110

02 - 104

01 - 105

00 - 98

And now we get a line of 93.5?? This line is wrong guys... and as much as I am a Yankee fan (and I am), I have NEVER placed action on the the season win total before. Always felt the line was inflated due to Yankee nation. But this year, IM ROLLING!

  1. Hey Southern....Can't argue with your logic but I am not sure how the Yanks will respond to the new coach.

I will name you a better one-two punch in the pen....How's about OKAJIMA/PAPELBON??? Remember those two guys?? I have the numbers in front of me but why bother....

Joba appeared in just a measley 19 games and completely fucked the Yanks in the playoffs!! Rivera is still decent but his numbers don't match up against Papelbon's....Rivera pitched 13 more innings and gave up 38 more hits, 13 more runs, struck out 10 LESS and had an ERA of 3.15 vs Pap's 1.85....One-Two my ARSE!!!! :moon:

Let a kid bitch more than 2 dozen games before he is considered a valuable #1 in the 1-2 punch!!!

Ok, sorry but I got off track there! Anyway, you have made valid points. I still question Moose and Pettitte for this season, but I agree Wang is solid (until the playoffs!!)

Good luck on your wager---But I'll be rooting for them BoSox!!!!

  2. yo messy.. assuming he stays in the pen.. ill take Joba vs Okajima ERA in 2008!!!!

Paps is solid, but until further notice, Mariano is the best closer in the game. sorry friend.

i just think 93.5 is a silly number.
