A couple to look at for today..............
LaSalle / Duquesne OVER 163
The Explorers are a good scoring team, but a very poor defensive team. The Explorers and have surrendered an average of 92 ppg in their last the games all losses. Needless to say, a game against high-octane Duquesne, the A-10's second-highest scoring team, isn't what the doctor ordered. The Dukes avg. 87points in two meetings with LaSalle dropping 101 on them on the road ! In their last 3 games (Temple,Charlotte,& St.Louis ) all much better defences than LaSally......they've avg. 84. They might hang another C-Note on LaSalle today, even if they don't 163 looks like NO Problem! Opened at 166 and dropped early tonight - don't take the bait with line movement here, pound the over ! ( Over 1st half should be strong as well)
C. MICH. -6-
Central Michigan will face Northern Illinois in the opening round of the conference tournament it will be the third meeting of the season between the two squads. Central Michigan prevailed in both meetings earlier this season. N.Ill. won only 3 conf. games all yr. while CMU were winners in 3 out of their last 4 conf. games including a win over West div. champ W.Mich. N.Ill. has had it rough with everything happening to them this yr. and our prayers do go out to them, but in this spot to sum it all up for them this yr. - Their DONE !
S.MISS -15
Speaking of being DONE....Rice ! S.Miss 8-2 last 10 ats. SMiss still has a shot at an NIT bid with a good showing in the conf. tourney & Rice poses threat.

Well... 1-2 yesterday for a total of 3-4 posted since beginning of last week.
The Devils didn't even show up and the Lakers would have covered if they would have gone for a defensive rebound. That should've been a blow out! Nice empty netter though for the Red Wings to get the lone win!
I like Syracuse to start today. Give the 3 pts. and let them work their Big East Tourney magic!
Be back with more later!

Wunderdog's free pick:
Game: St. Louis vs. Dayton (12:30 PM Eastern)
Pick: Dayton -5.5 (-110)
Saint Louis has sure put up some ugly numbers this season, none worse than their 14% shooting, 20-point effort against George Washington. Their last two games have been almost equally ugly, falling by 27 at Duquense and by 20 at home to Saint Bonaventure. The fact is that four of their last six games have been double-digit losses and here comes Dayon, a team that beat them by 11 and 27 points during the season. The Flyers closed strong, have an RPI in the 30s and is squarely on the bubble. A win here puts them up against Xavier, which could be a game to earn an opportunity to get in the NCAA tournament. We like the Flyers to advance here.

Gonna try the two A-10 tonight. I’m with phball on both.
La Salle +7.5
I thought this might be around a pick. Teams split with LS winning by 3 at Duq and Duq winning by 17 at La Salle. Both struggling down the stretch: LS lost last 3 SU and ATS (two were UMass, Temple, #2 and #3 seeds), Duq lost 5 of 6 SU and ATS.
LS can keep up with Duq scoring: A-10 only, Duq +1 on offense and give up 3 less on D.
I’m playing this based on how they perform away from home:
LS is 11-1-1 ATS Away, Duquesne is 6-7
In A-10 games, LS was 6-2 SU on the road (with two losses at Xavier and UMass; wins incl at St. Joe’s and Duq). Duq was 2-6 SU on the road (win at LS). LS was only 2-6 SU at home in A-10 games.
In A-10 road games, LS was 7-1 ATS, Duq was 3-5 ATS.
Not sure if this means anything, but common opps on the road:
Fordham: LS +5, Duq -1
SBU: LS +11, Duq -15
Xavier: LS -13, Duq -27 (although this could have been payback because I think Duq beat them LY)
URI -2
Four days ago Charlotte won by 10 at URI, and now they’re a dog? Seems weird. Last 8, URI is 1-7 SU and ATS while Charlotte is 4-1 SU/ATS L5. Neither team great away from home, although URI won at Syracuse and beat UAB on a neutral floor (Lost at Temple in OT, UMass by 2). Charlotte won at Clemson and has been close in most conf road losses. Recent ATS numbers not in URI’s favor, but I’m basing this on how the team’s shot on Saturday.
In A-10, URI is 2nd (prob first before last game) in 3-pt FG%. On Saturday they shot 3-21 on 3’s, including 0-8 from Baron who had 2 points (14ppg). On the other side, Charlotte hit 12 of 25 3’s and Goldwire ended up with 34 points (6-13 3’s). Mack hit 6 of 7 3’s. Despite this, it was a 4 point game with under 3 minutes to play. I can’t see all that happening again. Also, Rebounds were URI 45-43, TO’s URI 16-15…..so pretty even except for the 3-point shooting.
URI made a good run in Atlantic City last year, so they have some experience. Maybe some revenge from Saturday. Hoping the ATS trends and 3-point shooting reverse for this game (plus they owe me for blowing my ML parlay a few days ago).
