ADVERTISING ON GOTPICKS
Just curious, but is anyone else "annoyed" at the pop ups and data miner viruses the advertising on this site causes? I tried to log in to check messages and ITT technical institute wasn't having it!
Ricky, cmon man, I know it's worth $$$ but the pop ups are annoying as hell and I actually have gotten two data miners from this site on my virus protection.
Otherwise..props and MONMOUTH$$$

PC, I disagree.....After a devasting Superbowl Sunday, I logged in only to find this great add from ITT Tech which I will be using to get another job to pay off Benny the Book!!
Also, I tried to hawk my Sox/Royals Tix to help pay my tab but couldnt get a damn person to buy them!!!!

I think we need to get rid of these free ipod winners and spam banners and add some BPC touches
!! haha Ricky.. all advertisment is cool, just make sure you dont put the ones that make our virus protection jump up .. its happen to me a few times last week from GP!

sorry about that boys. The ad networks I use prohibit all that crap but some people I guess know how to get around it.
Anyway, I removed the ad network I was using for the top banner here. Please let me know if you get any of those alerts again while in the forums.
And just so you know, I barely make enough off those shitty ads to pay for hosting. These slow months I put up the difference just to keep the place going. No big deal, but don't start thinking that I am banking in any way...

Ricky 1st off let me say for the record ur HORNS Wont be in final four.

More on a serious note .......I believe we should create a Fee for hosting this site.
Example <> 25.00 fee 1 TIME A YEAR.
Lets say due August 25th or so as most come in here for Football.
Hilly should pay 100.00 which will include Cappy and My fee.
Pc BP im sure will agree to this.

I would post regularly if we kept the shemps from posting (no one get offended but there should be some regulation to posting, everyone and their mother throws out plays and no one knows what their records are. I used to track them but I know who can cap.)
As of right now there is no rhyme or reason to posting in my opinion. You guys know I care for this site but I think everyone agrees it is not what it used to be. GP has lost tons of great cappers because the board was/is flooded with rooks.
Moderate the posters, charge a fee to be a member, and limit who can post until they prove themselves. That's my two cents, for what it's worth. But I'm pretty much done being a regular poster. It's impossible to tell who is worth a damn as a capper. In my opinion someone should go back every night and GRADE each capper's performance so you know who is hitting and who isn't.
I once told my boy JTmoney I want a write up with my posts because I enjoy a little gravy with my mashed potatos. Instead I get some man with a silly logo tellin me to lay the 20 points on a game he knows nothing about.
Again, I go on, but it's only because this site has lost some serious talent. Good luck, I'll be around here and there but the way it is now, who wants to sift through 30 posts come football season.
GL boyz...anyone wants to see MY records they know where to look. I'll put up before I shut up and win or lose, you know what you get with me. but this Bullshit of just posting and saying you got a lock has to stop. OR how about the guys who are on a mailing list of pay plays they haven't played for and they forward the info. That bullshit is done too.
See the old school of GP in vegas and in fantasy and on the email. But my regular posting days are gone..I'll pop in here and there but there just isn't a reason to post on GP anymore for me. Thanks to the two people who sent me a thanks for the 8-1 free plays and the 4-1 NBA. Don't believe me, ..3-0 on NBA's first games back from the break and 1-0 on the Suns over last week.
Check out the free play thread for yourself, the numbers don't lie.
Sorry for the hard stance but I'm sick of the B.S. and the amateurism. This is about money fellas, not throwin darts.
Charge a bigger fee than 25.00 Ricky...that will get the college kids and the 20.00 bettors out of here. Either that or get a good pool of cappers and charge a fee and limit posting privelages. You can always have another forum for ANYONE to post and a proven handicapper area as well.
The reason I bitch is because I hate to see the direction this site is going. I effin guarantee NFL season next year the big board will have 40 posts with no writeups, just 10,000 star locks like give me 10K for the Colts to win the Superbowl...or how about logic like "I just feel they are gonna dominate today." Enjoy the mess fellas, I will play with old school like Billz, Como, Ricky, Sunday, Z, BP, TOD, hell even Vegas who bitched but had a legitimate point 2 years ago about the rooks on the board. I'm excluding a big list, but those that I met in person I know can cap. And there's a few I follow in sports I suck in, but you know who you are. Including that canadien national that is dying to see the cup back in canada. GO LIGHTNING TAK-O$$$

I would pay for Cappy and myself no problem, but Z man I dunno..lmao bro! I totally agree with the theory fellas. Lets get this place back to what it used to be, the place we all loved. This would also generate revenue so Ricky wouldn't have to have these women on here talkin to me everytime I log on about the free lap top I won.

Yes Sir Z .. I agree... I agree with what you said, and I do agree with what PC wrote ... I love this place, but find myself barely ever coming on .. why ? well I think most of that is noted above ... Alot of good people on here, and I dont mean capping, I mean GOOD PEOPLE! Which in the end is what matters .. but we all know how the other side goes ... Bang em fellas .....

I TOTALLY agree ! I have "NO" problem paying to keep the rif-raff out of here.
This is a great site,but it has gone down in the last 12-15 months or so (maybe a bit longer than that) and I hate to see it heading that way.
Everyone settle in on a fee and go that way.........I agree that's the only way to clean it up and restore it back to the level that we were all use to !

the site will never be what it once was. we lost too many good people already.
charging a fee won't bring that back. (what's to say charging a fee won't keep the riff-raff out?)
the elite that made gotpicks special have moved on. they've got their own "group" set up and do their thing outside of gp. ever wonder why nobody ever see them posting anymore?
the cbs message board was the beginning. then came gotpicks. then as peeps got to know each other better, peeps moved to emailing....text messaging....instant messaging....or dam, just cell phoning.
gotpicks has evolved. maybe the time to say "goodnite" is right around to corner.
just keeping it real.

I hear what everyone is saying. All I know is it would be a real shame if this site is lost. I enjoy talking about sports and betting, sparring with Messy and riding picks.
I used to post in the NHL forum, but I wasn't having a good year. So, I stopped posting, mainly because every time I post, I genuinely feel bad in case someone was riding.
I don't know the solution, but it seems that limiting membership might be the way to go. I don't know, just my 2 cents.
