Barclay's Premiership/Spain's La Liga/Italy Serie A--2008
Well....we've had a good 07 in soccer/futbol
But that's last year...I'm resetting the number...I will try to post one tonight, I'm just getting into it, but I'll most likely post them early early Saturday morning. ( I go to work at 4:00AM CST) anyways...let's see if we can have a nice start to the new year.
Studying:
Tottenham/Chelsea
Birmingham/Arsenal
Man City/Everton
Newcastle/United
I can't bring myself to look at Wigan/Derby but the initial lean is on the under as it should be easy. But I"m not touching that game..so wager that total on your own risk.
Sevilla/Bilbao
Coruna/Villarel (GOM material possibly)
Espanyol/Almeria
I'll stay away from the Italians this matchday. I don't like any of the games. I'm gonna study and whittle and hope we have a strong start. See ya in the AM or later tonight.

Here's my first Premiership plays of 2008:
Reading/Aston Villa over 2 1/2 -125
Risking 2.5 units to win 2 units
I like the over in this game because reading always seems to take care of me from the 80'th minute on. I like this team because they can bulge the bag and they are not afraid to go forward. By this I mean they aren't a counter attack bunker in team, they aggresively push the ball down the middle of the pitch and have some excellent finishers on the wings. Villa keeps moving up the table and they are doing it with offense. This time of year the shitty English weather always plays a factor but these boys should get us 3 at least.
Newcastle +1 1/2 goals +115
Risking 1.5 units to win 1.7 units
Ballsy play because Newcastle is usually Man U's bitch. However, I take that with a grain of salt. Carlos Tevez will probably sit today. Ronaldo is in fine form and has been the dominant goal scorer I expected (he is still my vote for futboller of the year in 07..Kaka did NOT deserve it) but this Man U team still has many injuries at the front of the attack. Rooney is hurting, Gigg's fitness is in question after an ankle tweak and VanDeSaar hasn't been the goalie we all know him capable of being. Newcastle might steal a point at Old Trafford but I'm hoping they don't lose by 2 against a loaded but hurt Man U team. Let's not forget the layoff usually favors the dog. I'm hoping Michael Owen gets us at least one for Newcastle because I can't see Man U scoring 3 goals today.
Tottenham/Chelsea under 2 1/2 even BEST BET
Tottenham has really turned their season around is playing some great futbol. They have a world class keeper and they know how to play defense. I really think this game is not even gonna make us sweat on the total. The Big Blue wall (AKA Chelsea's Defense) is a monster at home and usually has no troubles frustrating the offensive side of their opponent. The African Nations cup really hurt Chelsea and Arsenal as many of their big gunnars (bad pun) played this tourney. Guys like Drogba, even if playing, are going to be exhausted. Let's not forget (as Teeks and I will tell you) that one of the best keepers in the planet Peter Cech will be in goal for Chelsea as well. This man is an absolute stud and in my personal rankings has passed over Oliver kahn and Tim Howard as one of the top netminders in the game.
2.5 units to win 2.5 units on Chelsea/Tottenham Hostpur under 2 1/2
Four team parley for giggles:
Arsenal over 2 1/2 (-145), Aston Villa ML -181, Man City under 2 1/2 (-140), Chelsea ML -133
1 unit to win 8.3 units (I am counting this on my record)

We hit the best bet on Chelsea under (2-0) and we hit the Aston Villa over. Parley hit the first 3 legs and I lost it by 1 goal in the Arsenal over..and that was the one I wasn't worried about.
Anyways..2-0 on the straight plays...let's hope Newcastle keeps it within 1 goal for the next game. I do have a play for Sunday.
2008 Euro Soccer record:
2-1 ATS +3.5 units
(won 2 units on VIlla over, won 2.5 on Chelsea under, lost 4 team parley for 1 unit)
Newcastle + 1 1/2 for 1.7 still pending

REMIND ME IN THE FUTURE TO NOT POST AGAINST UNITED UNLESS RONALDO IS ON THE BENCH.
My favorite player in the world just jacknifed me. 2 goals, a beautiful set up to put 3 in for Man U.
2008 Euro Record:
2-2 ATS +2.0 units
I'm adding one more today from La Liga..game goes off at 3:00 CST on Channel 729 (GolTV)
I really like watching Sevilla play. The team pushes forward and is relentless on the attack. Anyways..they talk on a very good team as well in Atletico Bilbao. I've only seen Atl play once and they are a well disciplined team in the game I've watched, but Sevilla is on a tear. This team hasn't lost in 5 games winning 3 and drawing 2. They should have the full compliment of player available today as well. I've seen both, and based off of what I've seen, we gotta back my La Liga team, Sevilla.
Sevilla +125 (Gm#28005) If you don't mind risking the juice (-133) play the spread line so you get a push if it ties. I'll take the value..I think Sevilla rolls today. Sevilla's goal differential is +12 for the year which is very impressive for where they stand in the table.
1.5 units to win 1.8 units on Sevilla ML in 90 minutes.

For some reason, Portsmouth is a great road team with a record of 7-1-3.
Sunderland is horrible this year, and is average at home.
I'll take them at +140

Bolton to win on the spread line (if they tie it's a push)
2.2 units to win 2 units.
Bolton at home should give Blackburn fits. Sherlock has a good play too on the Sunderland game. I am rollin Bolton today

Let's get to it..
BEST BET:
Chelsea under 2 1/2 -145
Big reason to risk the juice...
Terry..out with a broken foot
Lampard..questionable with a thigh injury
Drogba, Obi, Essien, and Kalua (all starters) are out for Chelsea.
They don't call their defense the Big Blue Wall for nothing with a 0.7 goals allowed average this year.
Anelka will be making his first start for Chelsea. As stated earlier with Carlos Tevez at United, it takes a while to get acclimated to your new mates on the pitch. I don't expect him to score.
Birmingham has two new players that are expected to make an impact but I doubt either will start on Saturday.
2.9 units to win 2 units on Chelsea under 2 1/2 -145
Play #2:
Sunderland/Spurs over 3 +105
Tottenham has scored 44 and allowed 40..Sunderland has scored 22 and allowed 40...Not exactly a defensive minded game. Not a huge play but I think we'll see a 3-1 or 4-2 result.
1.5 units to win 1.6 units
Play #3:
Parley: Man United -250 to win in 90 minutes////Portsmouth -250 to win in 90 minutes////Arsenal -220 to win in 90 minutes
1.5 units to win 3.1 units
3 big boys going against relegation teams. I know United and Arsenal are battling for the top of the table and I think Portsmouth knows that they need 3 and nothing else against 1 and done Derby.
Look for my thread on Sunday morning/Sat night. i got a hammer on Sunday in Italy Serie A and I love a play in La Liga as well. On Monday we're going after a surprising play in the Liverpool tilt. Good luck this weekend.

On MLK Monday I like Villa to pull the upset and I'm rollin the over as well. VIlla is playing very well while Liverpool has been in a swoon lately. I'm interested to see if we get an offensive Liverpool side or will they rely on counter attacking. I'm playing both the dog and the over.
ROLL WITH ME ON ASTON VILLA +475

ROLL WITH ME ON VILLA OVER 2 1/2 -105

Today's EPL:
GAME OF THE MONTH:
Man City under 2 1/2 @ home vs Arsenal -135
risking 3.9 units to win 3 units
Man City and Arsenal will play defensive ball in the dead of winter at the city of Lights. Anelka has trouble with Arsenal and I think the GUnnars will be hard pressed to break through.
Liverpool - 1 1/2 Even.
Seems like a lot but Sunderland is garbage and with this game being at Anfield, I think Pool will put in at least 3 today with Crouch getting a well deserved start at the striker position.
risking 2 units to win 2 units on Pool -1 1/2
Bolton/Reading over 2 1/2 +120
Reading always gets my over in the 80'th minute on but today I think your going to see the highest scoring total come out of this game.
2 units to win 2.5 units on Bolton over 2 1/2
