FELLAS AS SAD AS IT IS TO SAY I MUST SAY I'M GONNA RETIRE FROM GAMBLING. I HAVE ACTUALLY MADE A LOT OF MONEY DOING THIS DON'T GET ME WRONG AND THAT IS VERY HARD IN ITSELF TO DO. IF YOU LOOK AT MY RECORD WHICH IS DOCUMENTED SINCE MARCH, MY WINNING % IS 60%. THAT IS A FUCKING HARD THING TO DO. HOWEVER, THE CONSTANT GRIND OF LOOKING AT TRENDS, STATS, AND OTHER BULLSHIT IS TAKING AWAY MY PERSONAL AND WORK LIFE. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I WAS 12 HELPING MY POPS OUT CRUNCHING #'S AND SO ON, BUT I MUST SAY THE SHIT JUST ISN'T FUN FOR ME ANYMORE. I'VE ALMOST TREATED THIS LIKE ANOTHER JOB OVER THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF. I FEEL LIKE MY BRAIN IS GONNA EXPLODE. I APPRECIATE RICKY CREATING THIS SITE AS IT HAS BEEN AWESOME. I HEAR THERE ARE OTHER FORUM SITES AS WELL BUT I'VE ONLY USED GOTPICKS SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN JANUARY 2004. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANOTHER NEED TO GO ELSEWHERE. I USED TO BE IN THE CHAT ROOM WATCHING WHAT GUYS LIKED AND ALSO JUST CHATTING. THERE ARE A LOT OF GOOD PEOPLE HERE AND I WISH ONLY THE BEST.
I LOVE GAMBLING AND SPORTS HAS BEEN A PART OF ME MY WHOLE LIFE SO I KNOW I WILL MISS THAT THRILL. I ALSO KNOW THAT I WON'T MISS THAT FEELING THAT I HAD WHEN TENN. GOT THE SHIT KICKED OUT OF THEM ON SUNDAY (LOL).
MAYBE THIS ONLY BECOMES A SABBATICAL. I'M NOT SURE. TIME WILL TELL. IF I HAVE SOME TIME TODAY, I WILL LOOK AT THE COLLEGE AND NBA CARD AND TRY TO FIND ONE MORE GAME FOR US TO POST THAT HOPEFULLY WILL CASH.
I WISH EVERYONE THE BEST AGAIN.

Hey JT, Good Luck!! Sometimes a break is good both mentally and physically! I know its hard to stay away, but it is nice to enjoy a Saturday and Sunday and not even think about a game!!!

I know how you feel --- It should never take over your life like that. It
should be fun and not work. Hopefully you can get some balance and just
play one now and then - That is what I have TRIED to do without sucess.
That being said - I can't help believe that seeing another MAC contest
on a Tuesday Night didn't have something to do with this "retirement".
Looking at the BOARD and seeing Toledo at Ball State is enough to make
me want to retire.

JTMONEY, All the best to you and thanks for all the posts and insights. You're right, +60% is a hard thing to do, but that's whats needed if you're in this for any serious kind of money otherwise it's not worth the time and effort. With a family and full time job it must consume a high percentage of one's free time. Gambling has the ability to grind down the toughest and smartest among us even when winning and if it's not fun then why bother?
