Why I'm backing the Heat: Home opener and Flip is one of the NBA's worst coaches. Everyone talks about the Pistons getting old but with RIP that's not the case. With him out tonight, the dynamic changes for Detroit. They will lean more on Chauncey and Sheed which will lead to more outside shooting. Miami has ball hawker Ricky Davis in the mix and he will be eager to be a 20 point scorer again on a team that desperately needs his explosiveness. With the home edge, Shaq Fu bringing it the best he can, and the temporary loss of Rip, I have to back the Heat tonight.
let's not forget that Miami is 7-2 ATS in the last 10 in this series and I really do think Flip is garbage. His lineup tonight is interesting. McDyess will be forced into major minutes and not having Webber tonight is now huge.
