PATRIOTS vs COLTS 11/4
I just wanted to start a thread to gather some info/insight on this game.
The Patriots have been steam-rolling opponents thus far. It is funnny to listen to "experts" talk about "weak opponents" and bullshit about running up a score. The Washington REdskins came into their match-up with the Patriots with the 5th ranked Defense and got shelled. We all remember what happened in the playoffs last year...Up 21-0 st the half only to lose the game. Revenge?? I am sure that is on the mind on the Patriots, from Bellichek on down!
Sure, you can say this is another Messy Homer Bet...Thats fine too!! Indy has beaten the Pats 3 games in a row with the last one being the aforementioned playoff game. Brady has one career loss in a dome (again that game).
The Patriots have scored a combined total of 149 points in their last three games...which has been far more impressive than the Colts. Weak schedule? Remember just a few weeks ago, the Pats went to Dallas and faced the then Undefeted Cowboys...They "were" supposed to lose that game too!! The Final: 48-27 Patriots.
I have more research to do as the week goes on....I will try to get in here later! Let me know your opinions!!

The following according to Pete Prisco:
• The Colts have played a tougher schedule. Their seven opponents have a combined 27-24 record. The Patriots' eight opponents have a combined 24-34 record. The Colts have won two tough road games, at Jacksonville and at Tennessee, while the Patriots' lone impressive road victory was against the Dallas Cowboys.
• The Colts, according to the scoring stats, have a better defense. The Colts are giving up 14.6 points per game, second best in the league, while the Patriots are giving up 15.9 points per game. From a yardage standpoint, the Patriots have an edge, allowing 268.5 yards per game compared to 272.9 for the Colts.
• The Patriots' offense is putting up huge numbers, leading the league in scoring at 41.4 points a game, but four of their games have come against the bottom four defensive teams in the league. The Jets (29th), Bills (30th), Bengals (31st) and Browns (32nd) all fell victim to the New England offense. Those games with the Patriots have something to do with why they're down so low, but they have also struggled against other offenses. The Dolphins, another Patriots victim, are ranked 24th in total defense. New England has also faced just one top 10 defense, the Cowboys at No. 6. THATS FUNNY PETE... "The Redskins entered with the fifth-ranked defense in the NFL and left with the franchise's worst loss since 1961." DID YOU FORGET ABOUT THE SKINS??? TYPICAL FUCKING HATER!
By contrast, the Colts offense, which is averaging 32 points per game, has faced just two defenses ranked lower than 20 -- the Carolina Panthers (21st) and Denver Broncos (25). They have faced two top 10 defenses, the fifth-ranked Tennessee Titans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who come in at No. 8.

It’s downright scary that New England is outscoring its foes by an average of 25 points and that Tom Brady has a 30-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio while leading the NFL in passing. Not only have the Patriots covered all of their games, but in six of eight they have beaten the spread by 13 or more points.
Brady has the edge in this battle, with his Patriots going 8-3-1 ATS against the Colts in their last 12 meetings. Manning has got the last laugh though, winning SU and ATS in the previous three contests including last year’s unforgettable AFC title game.
The Patriots (8-0) have scored at least 34 points in each game and have won each by 17 points or more. They've outscored opponents by an average of 41.3 to 15.9.
The Colts have the league's No. 2 pass defense, the Pats the No. 1 pass offense

Messy-
I'm with you brother! I learned me lesson the hard way with N.E. and I'm NOT going aginst then again until at least they come back down to earth. I rode them hard the last time they won it all..........looks like I'm going to have to get on board with it again. They are out to prove a point PEROID, I think that they have decided NOT to play by the NFL (National FIXED League ) since they were fined ect. and being put down by most of the media.
* * * Their point is we'll score as many as we want to, crush your spread and "NOT" lay down when YOU want us to.
That said Messy, you can go both way on this game.
1. New England -5 straight up.
OR
2. Pound the OVER 56- . Hell look at you projected score !
I'll be on the over..... Colts no Huddle v.s NO Prisoners....either way I see 56- being crushed.
Good luck brother and Congrads on you BO SOX !

Messy,
All your numbers tell me that these two teams are pretty evenly matched. Add three points for home field advantage and the spread says that the pats are 8 points better then NE.
That seems high for the defending Super Bowl Champs, who are undefeated this year. Indy also has a lot to prove. They crushed both Jax and the Panthers, both on the road.
You love your Boston teams and that's cool, but Indy is a pretty good foe. If both teams are close to even, wouldn't the smart bet be to take the home dog? If it was any other team other than your home team, you'd be on the Colts.
Myself, I think I'll just watch this one and enjoy the best game of the year. A lot better than watching Miami and NYG in London. Yawn.

Thanks for your opinions Sherlock But I will add that Brady has lost ONE career dome game and that is the same game that I am speaking of the Revenge factor. Also, If the "other team" had the Pats Defense as well as Brady throwing to Moss,Welker and Stallworth, I would NOT take Indy! Revenge is a serious component in these games...Yes, I love my hometown teams...especally the 8-0 ATS Patriots!! Break down the individual players....Tell me who has the advantage!!
Are you a closet hater Sherlock????

I'm not a hater Messy. I just think that there are better spots in football to put your money on than giving the SuperBowl champs 5 points at home. They have won 14 in a row, and 3 in a row vs NE. I'm not saying I don't think the Pats are better, I just think win or lose, it's a bad bet.

I hear ya bro, I'm just seeing it the other way...It seemed like giving Wash 16 or so was a bad idea...Shit, people thought giving Miami that many points was bad. Then of course there was giving Dallas points at home. What seems like a bad game to bet, in my eyes is a gift. I would really like to know who is going to cover the Patriots receivers. Sure, Indy won in the playoffs...barely I might add. And that was with who going out to receive passes?? Gaffney? Now, can you tell me what Indy did to beef up thier secondary to cover Moss and company?? See, Indy was able to drop someone into the box in the playoffs to help stop the run...and we know that cannot happen on Sunday!
I value your input and I am not saying you are wrong (but I guess I am ) I just see this as a game that the Pats have had marked on thier calendar. I cannot see any game that was better than the first 8 Patriot games this year and I do not see this any differently. Do you think Vegas could've put a different spread on this game that would welcome more Indy wagers??
Revenge Revenge Revenge.....

I value both of your opinions, BUT like I said OVER is the play here. While I do agree with NE -points, I'll be playing the over big.
*Mess, you said it- what has Indy done to help in their secondary?Nothing!
*And do you think that all of the sudden NE is going to turn to the run? NO!
Indy night try to stick to the run, but you can't do that playing catch-up,so they'll be throwing as well.
Frankly I'm not shocked that the total is not higher!
OVER-OVER-OVER
that's my 2 cents worth.
