WOW- what a bullshit way to have another winning day killed. F'n empty net goal with 18 secs left had me down a grand total of $30 tonight.
I should have been up a cool $400 on the day...muther f'rs...
anyways, we are getting MESSY over here also. I'm all about the experience and Beckett to end this streak.
But, I cant pay too much for the -240. I'm still butt hurt from the -195 the Yanks jacked me on.
480 to win 200.
If I do anything tomorrow, it might be the RL...

This is the World Series and Vegas sets a line like this:
901 COL GM#1, Pitcher: J FRANCIS-L +205 +1½-110 o8½-120
This is unheard of. And I think it's gonna go up more. They are pushing people off of action in my eyes.

They are def. trying to shade people off this game. and who the hell wants to take the RL in a WS game.

Whats up fellas!!! I havent made my decision yet.....
Beckett is on his game and Sox offense is firing! Yes, the Rockies have won 21/22 BUT haven't played a game in 8 days....I dont give a shit how many practices or simulated games they played..Its not the same!
The line is HIGH....Fuck the run line at -1.5 -115
You know I keep it real with you guys...Yeah, I think the Sox will handle the Rockies in this series...But I may actually lay off this game, sit back and enjoy it! I can't find the value in it...I am up for the week and booked the Sox at +120 to win the series....I am trying to stick to being disiplined (This is the longest I have ever made it!!!) so i do not want to ruin a good run!
This is BY NO MEANS a suggestion that I think the SOx do not win....It is just money management....There will be atleast 3 other games in this series!!!
I'll be back to let you know what i do!
Record 8-3 (+13.5 UNITS)
GOOD LUCK BOYS!!

Bucking the Red Sox trend here for another dog value
Rockies +1-1/2 (-110)
My first run line bet this season. It has the requisites: Big price drop between m/l, visiting team, and no public support.
Also,
Rockies/Red Sox over 8.5 (-115)
Post season record 5-4 (+1.4 units)
Final regular season 84-53-1 (+21.86 units)
Good luck

I see big value on the money line here for Colorado. No doubt the Red Sox are the team to beat here, but how disrespectful for a team that deserves to be there for Colorado.
All the stats as far as I am concerned are re-set starting today with past performance and trends less reliable.
We are down to best of 7, and we all no anything can happen. I will take the value all they way through this series starting tonight with:
COLORADO +1.5 -110 5 UNITS
COLORADO +195 2 UNITS
Besides, Boston is not due another WS til sometime later this century aren't they???

Boston Red Sox w/Beckett
Beckett has been arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball this year, and on a big stage, he is even better. This postseason, he has three starts with a 1.17 ERA. At home this year, he was 11-5 with an ERA of 3.82. He got bombed by the Rockies at home this year, and will be looking to avenge that start.
Game One. World Series. This is all about pitching, and who can come through in the clutch. You saw Beckett do it and win the World Series MVP back in 2003 against the Yankees. You'll see him do it again this year, and it starts off with a bang tonight as the Sox win comfortably.
The Rockies are in for a rude awakening this series, and it starts tonight. They have won so many in a row, it is a no brainer to think that they'll keep winning.
Think again. This Red Sox team is clearly the best team the Rockies have faced this postseason, and has the best lineup of any team in the playoffs. Add Josh Beckett to the equation and you have an easy win for the Sox.
Beckett has been impeccable so far this postseason, giving up just three earned runs over his three starts. Francis is good, but he'll have 38,000 screaming Red Sox fans in his face. Red Sox win game one.

BoSOX (ALCS MVP Beckett)----------- -220 2 UNITS (440-200)
Now, I am biased but Sox should win easily...Looks like Vagas may look to make their money on what is viewd as a "value" bet... Becareful guys!

All right..I had a dreadful 2-4 record (I think) on posted MLB and I waited til the big show to get back.
Fellas..sorry to disagree with you. Everyone and their mother except apparantly Wylie, GoCubs, and myself think the Sox are a mortal lock. For the record..the opening line is not crazy off, one only needs to look at the last 3 years World Series to see crazier lines. Funny thing is, the dog came in most of those games...Do the words Dream Weaver jolt your memory?
Anyways, let's get to Game 1:
Sox are easy? WTF???
Same Sox team that lost 2 of 3 to Colorado at home with Schills and Beckett both getting the losses?
Colorado has a better ERA and a better bullpen than Sox since the All Star break?
Jeff Francis has a lower ERA than anyone not named Beckett on the Sox team?
Total is 8 1/2 in mighty Fenway with the mighty bats of both teams?
All this tells me I'm on the Rocks for Game 1 on the run line. I hate run lines but I agree with Wiley and with GoCubs...the Rockies RUN line is a great play.
My facts..not opinions reasons I'm playing on the Rocks:
**Beckett lost 7-1 as did the Sox to these same Rocks and the same pitcher Jeff Francis.
**Beckett's ERA at home 3.82..on the Road..2.11
**Francis is a giant killer. He's won as a +150 dog or more on juice in a league leading 7starts this year. Translated that 9 times this year the Rocks and Francis were listed at +150 or better and seven of those times they covered with a SU win.
**I am one of the few people on this planet who would not start Ellsbury in the Series..mark my words he's gonna bomb like a Bill buckner slow roller.
**Holliday and Atkins are hitting 500% lifetime combined against Beckett in their careers. (12-24 with 2 HR's and 3 K's)
**For the year, the Sox are +4.94 units if every game is worth 1 unit. The Rockies are +32.13 units for the year. You don't even want to know the underdog ATS for the Rocks on the road..it is sick.
I know the Sox are a great team and CAPABLE of winning this series. I do not think it's a foregone conclusion the Sox just roll the Rocks. I don't care about layoffs, I personally prefer the team who has had a chance to rest and study. Here are the issues I think decide this series.
--Which team is a better cold weather team? As in hits better in the cold weather and fields better. Cold weather always favors the pitcher in my opinion.
--Is Boston or Colorado favored by the layoff or turn around time of a 7 game series?
For those that are backing Boston for the series...give me some logic other than a flashing Red Sox monikor or the logic...."It's the Sox$$$"
I think the series is very hard to predict and I won't play a series play although if I did my lean would be on the Sox in 7.
Tonight's game is going to surprise a lot of people. I'll take the run line to be safe but Boston is NOT going to blow out the Rocks tonight. In fact, don't be surprised if it's the other way around.
WORLD SERIES PLAY #1: Let's roll Wylie and Cubs.....
Colorado RUN LINE + 1 1/2 -110
Good luck boys..I'm on the Rocks run line as well. good luck to everyone. Very strong opinions both ways on this series...Very easy to back a -210 favorite...very hard to justify +205 dog...I'll split the difference, take the runs, and hope Sox ML backers hit their play with a 1 run win.
Have a good one everyone.
Great thursday night game tomorrow in college foots.

Beckett was 20-7 3.27 ERA
Josh Beckett went 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his two ALCS starts
3-0 record and 1.17 ERA in 23 innings in 07 Post season play!
Career Post Season 5-2 1.78 ERA In 65 Innings with 73 K's
Beckett was the 2003 World Series MVP and just captured the '07 ALCS MVP award.
Among pitchers who have thrown 26 or more postseason innings, Beckett is the hardest guy to hit in history -- 4.66 hits per nine innings. His WHIP (walks and hits per nine innings) of 7.16 is also the best in history among those with 26 or more innings.
Francis was 17-9 w/ a 4.22 ERA This season
His career post season is THIS SEASON ONLY!
There is no way that you can compare the offense of the SOX (right now) to that of either Philly or Zona)
In 6 playoff games, Rockies outscored opponents 32-16
In 9 Playoff games, Sox outscored opponents 61-35 including 30-5 in the LAST 3 GAMES!
Sox have experience and home field for game 1 with an EXCEPTIONAL post season pitcher on the mound.
I know the what the Rockies did in June against Beckett and Schill here at Fenway.....But this is OCTOBER!!
GOOD LUCK BOYS!!!!

Sox are loaded and don't think I'm hating. I won't use the word value. All I'm saying is the Rockies are in top form and should not be regarded lightly. Sox might drill em tonight but I really do expect a tight game. Good luck and hope your boys win this sucker..I can't bear to hear the bitchin if they don't$$$$
Take care...when we going to a Celtics game?

Rockies +1.5 - 110
After looking at this game for most of the day, I was still confused. This is the best value play of any side wager on the game. I hate taking the RL on a home team because they either totally lose their last at bat if winning, if tied or losing, very hard to win by 2 in 9th or extras, has to be a homerun.
