Rangers +130. NYR has played really well to close the season and they looked great against the Devils. The Pens swept the Senators, but the Sens were hurt, divided and had already given up. It was an easy series...too easy. The Rangers have the experience needed to win on the road and a far better goaltender. They won the season series 5-3, winning one in Pitt.
Stars +135. Wow. SJ, who was the public's pick to win the Cup this year, struggled to beat Calgary in 7. Meanwhile, Dallas stunned everyone with a convincing defeat of the Stanley Cup champs in 6 taking two on the road. These teams split the season series 4-4, but SJ won two of those in a shoot out. I like Dallas to shock SJ here.

We may have luck, but you clearly have the officiating. Nothing like a clear high stick goal (his stick blade landed on the crossbar!) and a phantom kneeing penalty to help you win game one. And the refs did all they could with that bogus 5 minute major penalty to try to help you win game three (which I was there for). It's okay though, the Flyers are good enough to beat both the Habs and the refs. I realize the NHL has to do all they can to keep the last Canadian team alive, but it's not going to happen.

Gyphin you are not the only one complaining about the "high stick" goal because the rule is not clearly stated but in the rule book it states that if the stick is partially split over and under the crossbar and the puck hits the stick UNDER the crossbar then it is a goal which is what happened.
As for the knee, there is NO DOUBT the hit was illegal just as there is NO DOUBT kovalev sold the call even more to make sure the refs noticed but the hit was still not legal whether he embellished it or not.

Good day guys, what did we witness last night in the game b/w Pitts and NY wow didn't I get bitten on the XXX last night it looked easy but at the end NY stayed alive, there goaltender was awesome he played well for them to live another day. My posted picks 1-2 my only winner was Detroit what a game they killed Colorado for the sweep and will meet either Dallas or Sharks.
Dallas as of today is up in the series 3-1 and tonight at 10:00 eastern will be the showdown b/w the two clubs. It's funny how well Dallas plays at the Shark Tank they won both games in the playoffs and have dominated the Sharks at there own Tank which is funny to think about a bit. The Sharks stayed alive with gritty win in game 4 but look for the stars to close the deal on the road tonight where they have won four of the five games in post season, will it happen tonight for Dallas to win is the question, I believe the Sharks are better then Dallas and if they can get Nabby to perform like he did the last two games in Dallas I believe they will win and take this series back to Dallas.

I was on Det O 5 last night (for the record, it should have hit. 5 goals in first 2 periods!) and I will take the over in tonight's game for some of the same reasons.
First, the refs are not afraid to call penalties in the first game of the series. Proof was Detroits first goal last night. Already on a powerplay, Detroit was given a 5 on 3 on a very questionable call. Consider this: In their four regular season games, Western Conference finalists Dallas and Detroit combined for 26 power plays and two power play goals. In their eight games, the Flyers and Penguins had a remarkable 86 power plays and 20 power play goals.
Second, teams are feeling each other out and play looser in the first game. Here are the goal totals for the first game of the last round 7, 9, 7, 5.
Third, I'm not sold on Philly's defence. Sure, a hot goalie can steal a round, but Philly did allow 233 goals during the reg season. And with Timonen out, they are in trouble. Timonen was their shut down guy. Who will stop Crosby, Malkin and Hossa?
I'm also on Pitt -190, but that's a lot of juice. I see a parlay in my future.

Also. I ref college hockey and that was a horrible call by ref to take that goal away. if the game was in Det, no way that call is made. the refs have been aweful in the DET/DAL series.. my oponion

Although it pains me to go against you, I had to the last two games. I haven't looked at the lines for game 5's but im sure they will be high juice for det and Pitt. I can tell you, philly did everything I thought they would. They won that first period on heart and emotion alone.. then the next two, the tank was starting to empty and you saw the talent of Pitt just dominate.. Same kind of game for dallas and detroit also in game 4.
My plays will both be on Det and Pitt but to get the juice down.. I would take Detroit and Pitt to win in regulation. The odds should be alot better. probably still high though. The over's scare me because honestly, I'm not sure I see Dallas or philly scoring agian other then a fluke goal that Dallas is living on with the exception of last game. And for Det and Pitt to score 5 them selves is hard to see considering after they get up 2 or 3, they will go defensive and start looking ahead. You cant bank on power plays late in the game to get you there because come on. if you follow the game. these guys have to much pride to start running around trying to kill each other just because they know they lost.. it doesn't happen that way.
The best part of a series is watching these guys take liberties on each other and then watching them go thru the hand shake, They have respect for one another, They understand each other's roles. Will take a look at the lines tomorrow and make my plays official..

Let's get ready to rumble tonight ..... Detroit @ Dallas should be a great game, Detroit up 3 games the 2 with Dallas winning the last 2 games. The Stars definitely look like a different team when they have the lead. The Wings need to load up in front of the net and get some shots that Marty can't see. The longer this series goes the hotter Turco gets. Detroit really needs to start playing with the energy they had early in the series.
I can hear the Wings fans sweating from here on end. Momentum is a fickle thing and it is all with Detroit now. I think the physical game the Stars have brought is catching up with the Wings. Dallas looked bigger and stronger, Turco is getting some confidence, and we might be seeing some cracks in Osgood's confidence . He was great against the Av's but I always thought he was the weak link for the Wings.
My next comment and final one is a no-brainer but the key for the Wings is to get a lead tonite and try to take some of the fire out of the Stars, although the crowd will be crazy.

If they keep playing like they are, get the brooms out. Flury looks like he hasn't recovered from falling on his face after running onto the ice in game 1. There offense just didn't make the trip.
