Barclay's English Premiership Plays
I have turned my full time attention to the Premiership and to the Bundesligia and to MLS this year. While you fellas knock dowan American football I will be going after this futbol with a vengenance. My first game I post in the Premiership will be on the Derby between United and City.
The Battle of Manchester is a very good match-up this year with lots of twists.
If your unfamiliar with the phrase "derby" it's the definition of a state or city rivalry English style. Sox and the Cubs would be considered a derby or the Mets and Yanks..anyways..this is an absolutely huge game..here's why:
**If you follow Euro Futbol at all you know the name Christian Rinaldo. I personally think he's the man to beat for Futbol Player of the Year. Anyways, in a sign of obvious frustration he was booked with a red card and 3 game suspension...he'll be sitting out Sunday in this packed City Arena. Christian Ronaldo is the equivalent of A Rod. However, United has about 5 A Rods..hell, maybe even 8 or 9.
**Carlos Tevez has yet to make the huge impact expected. The Argentinian is a gifted player but I don't think he will be in flow for the Reds until late September.
**Manchester United is the Yankees of the Premiership. They are the defending champs, they spend record amounts of money, and their coach has actually been knighted. I'll get more into the coaches later.
**Current standings has home side Manchester City in first in the Premiership.
**United has drawn so far this year and is yet to record a win.
**The Rooney's are at 50% and maybe less. Andy is out and Wayne looked like he got hurt in the draw earlier this week.
**I've seen two United games so far and while the offense has shown flashes of brilliance, they are still erratic and not even close to finely tuned Reds team.
**You couldn't ask for better start for Manchester City. They are 2-0 with two clean sheets. (They pitched shut outs).
I'm on Manchester City and the draw line and the 1/2 goal line. Here's how I'm laying it out.
150.00 to win 489.00 ML in regulation (+325)
100.00 to win 225.00 on the draw line if they are tied (+225)
206.00 to win 200.00 on Manchester City +1/2 goal in regulation time.
If Manchester City wins outright I hit two bets and lose the draw. I honestly believe Manchester City will continue to create a slow start for the Reds. They are in 1'st, they want the big win over the big team, and they are catching them in the midst of a transfer controversy over Tevez. Let's not forget the front runner for player of the year is out with the suspension.
I forgot to discuss the coaches..Sir Alex is relaxed and not in a panic with his all star laden team. But a severe loss here will open some eyes across the Channel. The Man City coach is the former national skip for the English national team. I can't tell you how much he wants this game.
This is a very special game in the premiership to open the season and one I've focused on since the impressive starts of both teams. Rolando Bianchi is my vote for man of the match as he will go overlooked with the much more heralded argentinian Tevez.
Final: 2-1 manchester City...good luck if you play it. This is incredible value as the betting public always backs the Yankees of the Premiership. Especially when they have started with two draws.
Good luck...

Brazilian midfielder Geovanni celebrates his strike against Man Utd.
Manchester City shocked the Premier League champions by going into the half 1-0 leaders in the Manchester derby at Eastlands. Sven Goran Eriksson's side had been second best for most of the half, but Brazilian midfielder Geovanni smashed home a long shot to give City the lead, while Nani spurned the best chance for United.

We're back in England for some more money making opportunities..let's see if we can build on the great start to the EPL..lines I'm using from Bookmaker posted below. (I add 2 hours to the start time to get USA Central standard start time on the matches)
Play #1:
Roll with me on Wigan Athletic +300 @ West Ham United. I watched the Hammer's last 2 games (West Ham) and have not been impressed. They have no outside speed and their defense is more of a bunker up the middle attack which does not bode well for Saturday's match. Wigan is cruising under the radar after posting 2 clean sheets (shut-outs) in their first 2 matches. Early in the year there is very good value as traditonal roles are broken and upstarts make runs. We cashed last week huge on a 3:1 doggie of Man City, I'm going after it again today.
Risking 1.5 units to win 4.5 units on Wigan Athletic +300 to win
Risking .5 units to draw @ 230
EPL GAME OF THE MONTH:
Roll with me on Everton and Blackburn to go over 2 1/2 +110. Two good offenses who got good results offensively in the beginning of the EPL. Both defenses are in the bottom of the early EPL season in terms of goals allowed per game. I am not impressed with either Keeper and think one goal will get in that shouldnt.
3 units to win 3.3 units on Blackburn over 2.5 +110
Third Play:
Roll with me on Chelsea/Portsmouth over 2 1/2 -125.
1.75 units to win 1.5 units
GL today. Bet em Friday night because they start early Satuday AM.

I have two in the premiership this Saturday. Record is listed above and will be updated for Sunday's Game of the Month in the premiership.
Saturday:
(BET THESE ON FRIDAY...games go off Sat. morning)
Play #1: Bolton Wanderers +160 ML
Here's why: Bolton and Derby are very unimpressive and mired in the bottom of the table for the Premiership. Derby is coming off a 6-0 loss and Bolton is considering a coaching change. I think the value is very good to see Derby continue to mire in an offensive slump. Very good value and I'll back Bolton.
Bolton Wanderers +160...2 units
Play #2:
Arsenal/West Ham over 2 1/2 -120
Arsenal scores like a blitzkrieg and they play a pushing style of futbol. West Ham doesn't have the Defense to contain the attack that Arsenal brings from the wings. THey are a very UN EUROPEAN club team in that they press so much. West Ham might be able to get one, but I think Arsenal takes the total on their own side.
Arsenal/West Ham over 2 1/2...2 units
2-3 ATS +4.4 units

10-21 PLAY:
Roll with me on Newcastle United to win in regulation time.
+130
1.5 units to win 1.95 units
GL...
I'll have a play as well on the MLS regular season finale on Sunday in that thread.
I really like Newcastle to take care of business on Sunday. The inevitable return on Michael Owen has bolstered their play with a 3 win 2 loss ledger in their last 5. Owen is out to prove that he is match fit and will show it against a weak Spurs team. They are in danger of being relegated and this is a game that Newcastle is counting on a full 3 points with a win.
Good luck...1.5 units on Newcastle to win in Regulation time.

I have been waiting for this game since we cashed on Manchester City as a huge dog at home against Manchester United.
ROLL WITH ME ON MANCHESTER CITY to get it done yet again as a dog against Chelsea.
+530..yep +530
Here's why:
I have been nailing on Man City at home as they clearly play wonderfully at home. They have to be the surprise of the premiership maintining their 3rd place spot in the table. Petrov has become a very talented scorer who keeps finding the back of the net. This play is purely value and we'll go on the best bet bigger, but seriously consider this play. Chelsea is playing well and they are tough to beat but Petrov and company should get at least one against Chelsea and their defense should contain drogba and company.
ROLL WITH ME ON MANCHESTER CITY +530 against Chelsea. If you don't have the sack for it take the -1 line at -115.
BEST BET OF EPL SATURDAY: Roll with me on under 2 1/2 in Chelsea/man City -125
Play #3: Roll with me on over 2 1/2 goals in Newcastle United and Reading. The magpies are playing tough futbol and the return of Owen makes them look formidable on the offensive side of the ball. Questionable keeper in my opinion for Newcastle and I think Reading will get at least 1 against one of the most porous defenses in the Premiership.
I will have a banger play on the Liverpool/Arsenal clash on Sunday. This is a huge game in the EPL.
Re cap for Saturday (Get em in friday because they go off early. Also, the lines will move..I got DC united under 125 this morning..it's now at -145 on the under)
BEST BET: Chelsea/man city under 2 1/2
Under 2 1/2 -130
3.9 units to win 3 units
Long shot Dog: Manchester City +530
1 unit to win 5.3 units
.5 unit on draw line
Reading/Newcastle over 2 1/2 -115
2.3 units to win 2 units
Good luck, look for my dog winner on Sunday in the EPL..Let's go Man City..you cashed huge for us against United, I expect more of the same Saturday. And if you lose, make it 1-0

jesus guys I really screwed up...Chelsea was at home..not manchester City. That's a collosal mistake on my part as Man City is night/day on the road vs. at home. Completely my bad.
EPL update;
Chelsea under..LOSER -3.9 units
Man City ........LOSER -1.o unit
Newcastle over WINNER +2
1-2 -2.9 units on the day. My bad on Chelsea..I would have never released the under if they were at home and I never would have backed Man City. I apologize for my incompetence...Get it back on my MLS plays tonight.

I played against Chelsea on the road last week, didn't matter. Terry didn't play and I thought Drogba was out. Of course he scored in 20th minute or so. Down 1-0 and having to beat Cech isn't good. Regardless, lost 2-0. Thought with all the turmoil was a good time to play against them. Tough to go against maybe the best GK in the world.
Where's Captain Kahn?
Let's get those MLS winners tonight.

I'll update my record after Sunday for this weekend:
I have 2 plays:
BEST BET: I know it sounds goofy if you follow the EPL (both teams rank 1 and 3 in goals allowed) but roll with me on over 2 1/2 in Liverpool/Arsenal at Anfield Park. They'll be singing You Never Walk Alone but let's hope the boys in Red can get at least 2. Arsenal has been scoring in droves and I think it's going to be fireworks. Both teams are at the top of the table in scoring as well as Arsenal is first with 21 goals and Liverpool is tied for 3'rd with 16 goals.
I'm on the over as pub is hammering that defense
Roll with me on over 2 1/2 goals +110
1.5 units to win 1.65 units
2nd play:
Roll with me on Everton over 2 1/2 +110. Derby is terrible but they can score. I expect 2 to 4 goals depending on the lineups.
1 unit to win 1.1 on over 2 1/2 +110
Side play opinion not counting on record but playing:
I like the Blackburn Rovers to sneak one against Tottenham Hotspur..think Bills/jets kind of matchup. Both teams are at the bottom of the table...
Spurs are in serious trouble as Martin Jol is close to getting "sacked" as they say on that side of the pond.
+220 if you like it. I'm on it small

Going with both favorites laying action:
All lines from bookmaker
Not a 90 minute play but final result:
West Ham -1/2 -105 @ home against the Bolton Wanderers. ( Bolton has their entire strike force injured and West Ham is missing a key player as well. However, I won't advocate the under, just roll on West Ham and hope we get the first goal.)
West Ham -1 -105
2.1 units to win 2 units for me.
My boys Man City are back at home where they carry a 6-0-0 ledger at home. I personally think Sunderland is garbage since their promotion to the Champions league and my boys Petroz and Kaspar will take care of their responsibilities on the pitch today. man City in a rout at home.
Man City -1 +110
2 units to win 2.2
NOTE: Both games are final score games, not regulation time. So Man city wins by a goal I will push not lose.
GL players..have a great Sunday with the futbol.

I got one for ya this monday Afternoon.
Roll with me on top 4 team in the table Arsenal -1 goal -130 in regulation time. Reading isn't a bad team and has some capable scorers but Arsenal is a force and can't let this opportunity for 3 points slide. I don't expect a tie, but a win. Whether we push or win the ATS is in question but Arsenal is not losing this game or tying this game. It will come down to how many goals they win by. Better strikers, better defense and overall a better program.
ROLL WITH ME ON ARSENAL -1 -125 to start your betting week.
2.5 units to win 2 units.

The premiership returns, but England the country is crushed as they got dropped by Croatia at Wembley in EURO qualifying. How serious is it? They fired the national coach, and they make it sound like England is under some serious diress. Anyways, the Premiership is back this Saturday, here's my card for GP:
1.) Portsmouth +130 to win in Regulation time over Birmingham City.
Portsmouth has quietly snuck up to 6'th in the table behind perennial power Arsenal. This team needs the 3 points it can attain with a win over Birmingham City. I really think Portsmouth has the ability to pull away and they play stout defense allowing only 13 goals so far in 13 games while scoring 23 in the same time. In addition, Portsmouth has a difficult schedule, and unlike American futbol, this isn't a trap game. They need the 3 points badly heading into a crucuial stretch of the schedule in which they play the upper echelon.
ROLL WITH ME ON PORTSMOUTH +130
2 units to win 2.6 units
2.)Manchester City over 2 1/2 goals -110.
You guys know that Man City is my favorite team and they are still undefeated at home. Reading has some decent strikers but I expect a 2-1 or larger result for Man City. Petrov should have a field day feasting on the poor Reading defense.
ROLL WITH ME ON MAN CITY OVER 2 1/2 goals
2.2 units to win 2 units
3.)Manchester United under 2 1/2 goals -115. There is a very good chance Carlos Tevez won't play for United due to Copa qualifying for the Argentinians in South America. Even if he does play, he's not gonna be fit for the game. In addition, Rooney is still hurting and Ronaldo might sit as well. United has plenty to take care of bottom feeder Bolton, but the Wanderers should and will bunker in to try to get at least 1 point.
ROLL WITH ME ON MAN UNITED under 2 1/2 goals -115
4.)Arsenal -2 goals over Wigan. I'm tellin ya, 4-0 or higher is more like it. 2 goals is similar to the 22 the Patriots are giving at home against Philly. Like New England, feel good about laying this large #. Arsenal is the real deal and Wigan is getting ready to go back to the English championship after a 1 and done in the high level of futbol called the Premiership.
2 units to win 2.1 units on Arsenal -2 goals over Wigan.
Summary:
BEST BET: Man City over 2 1/2 goals (-110) 2 units
Arsenal -2goals +105) 2 units
Man United under 2 1/2 goals (-110) 2units
Portsmouth (+130) 2 units
Good luck fellas....

We have smoked the last 5 going 4-0-1..here's what I have for today. Hurry because it goes off soon:
Blackburn Rovers +130 in regulation time to win over Fulham.
Should be a 2-0 or 2-1 result for the Rovers.

Here's my card today:
Arsenal/Villa over 2 1/2 +105
Two of the top scoring teams in the premiership hook up in what I think is the game of the day. I'm excited about seeing this game late on tape delay so I won't check this thread until after. Hopefully we're postin that we hit at half. Anyways...Moneycanada was doubting the power of Arsenal's 2nd half offense last week as we needed 2 goals to push and 3 to win our play..they ended up getting 2 in 4 minutes late. Anyways, both teams have capable scoring and Villa is not going to get shut out at home. Since I think Arsenal wins I'm rollin for a 2-1 or 2-2 final.
ROLL WITH ME ON VILLA/GUNNERS OVER 2 1/2 +105
2 units to win 2.1
Reading/Middlesborough over 2 1/2 -110
These two teams play terrible defense and should allow each other plenty of opportunities to bulge the onion bag. The Middlesborough keeper is the worst in the EPL in my opinion. Reading hasn't pitched a clean sheet in over a month.
2.2 units to win 2 units on the over 2 1/2 in reading
Play#3
Blackburn -125 ML to win in regulation time.
This team seems to be turning the corner and against Newcastle they have a great opportunity. Newcastle is missing key players up front due to fitness and injury and Blackburn should be able to capitalize. I think we'll see Blackburn squeak by in this one.
1.75 units to win 1.5 units on Blackburn.
Play #4
Arsenal to win in regulation time -105.
Put simply, I think the Arsenal side is playing the best futbol in the premiership. They lead the table with 33 points and have the most goals scored while playing a stifling defense. If they want to stay in front of United and Chelsea, they have to have 3 points in games like this. A road tie simply won't do.
2.1 units to win 2 units on Arsenal to win in Regulation time.
GL fellas.
Best bet is Arsenal over if you only want to play one.

I got 2 for today:
BEST BET: Liverpool/Reading over 2 1/2 -110. Even though Liverpool has only allowed 6 goals all year in the premiership, they could give one up. On the other side of the defense, Reading has allowed 32 goals and has serious issues on defense. Torres, Gerrard and Crouchasauraus can all bulge the onion bag and as long as the weather isn't too bad, this game should hit for us. Liverpool has put up 8 goals in it's last 2 games at Anfield and I expect them to coninue their latest surge at Reading.
Over 2 1/2 -110
2.75 units to win 2.5 units
BEST BET: Birmingham City/newcastle over 2 1/2 -125.
Both teams can score and both have shoddy defense. As the Euros say..this should be a "cracking" game on the pitch with lots of offense.
1.25 units to win 1 unit on Birmingham over.
Last play: I can't help myself..man united -2 1/2 goals over Derby. Even though Ronaldo and some others should rest, Derby is god awful and headed to the championship. This is like laying 24 but man the pats of the EPL should just lay into Derby at Old Trafford.
1.65 units to win 1.5 units on Man United to cover 2 1/2 goals
13-10-1 ATS +8.95 units in the EPL.
Good luck fellas.

Reading over 2 1/2 -110 WIN +2.5 unit

I did find two I like for Sunday in the EPL..these games go off early..so check them out tonight if you want it.
Roll with me on Wigan/Bolton Over 2 1/2 +120
Here's why I'm playing this:
I personally believe both teams have decent strikers that can put the ball in the back of the net. But the main reason I'm rollin over is the defense. Both teams let huge opportunities arise because their defense is no good. This is obvious when you look at the table:
Boltons' allowed 22 goals
Wigan's allowed 26 goals
Now..on the other side of that coin Wigan plays better defense at home and Bolton struggles to score on the road. But I'm a firm believer that if you put two bad teams together, they will produce points.
Small play:
Wigan/Bolton over 2 1/2 ....+120..1 UNIT
BEST BET:
let's stay on the train...I'm rollin Arsenal -1 -110 for the game meaning if they win by 1 I push. I know it's a tall task but until someone stops the Gunnar's offense I will keep playing on them OR the over. Today I expect a 2-0 result as Arsenal plays very good defense away.
2.2 units to win 2 units on Arsenal -1 in the game line.
16-10-1 ATS +13.45 units

Oh my god am I hyped for this Sunday in the EPL. I will have my first ever game of the year in futbol (I'll have two during the regular season, one side, one total.). It's on the biggest match of the year..>Chelsea/Arsenal.
I can not fricken wait for this game. If you don't have the sports add on for your digital cable or direct TV (Fox/FSC/NFL Network) get it and I will pay your first month's add on cost. (Should be anywhere to 4.95 to 6.95 a month)
I'm serious. If you've never watched a futbol game get the add on which is dirt cheap and watch the game on FSC (Channel 728) at 10:00AM CST. This is a great play to get you with some scratch in your pocket as you hit the first round of NFL games.
Private message me an order confirmation of new service and I will pay the ADD ON FEE ONLY (should be cheap monthly) and then we'll see if we can hit the GOY in Futbol to pay for the year's service. It's my small way of getting America more hyped on futbol...just have to do it through gambling.
Anyways...let me hype this game for those that don't know or don't care about the EPL:

As you can see the two teams are mirror images of each other. They both have scored 16 goals YTD..they have allowed 10 and 11 goals defensively. They both boast two of the league's top scorers in Chelsea's Drogba and Arsenal's Adebayor. Both teams have plenty of talent and capable scorers and I'm tellin ya, this game will be 90 minutes of singing, chanting, and top notch futbol.
Drogba is not going to be available for this game and I think you will be surprised at my play if the line stays where it is. Guys, I'm hyped about this game and if you ever wanted to give a game to watch a chance, this is it. The fans will be nuts, the play will be top form, and it's the most important game in the premiership until Man U and Chelsea hook up and then Liverpool visits Arsenal...3 great games in the next 3 weeks.
Anyways, I'm working on the play and hope you followed my post on Moneycanada's line. Sevilla hit, Sevilla over hit, Stutgart over hit, Roma under hit, but lost on Roma which I jinxed by going another way with it
Look for the EPL this Saturday..3 plays, but I'm hammering on Sunday's lone play on Arsenal and the Blues at Emirates Stadium.
Gunners and the Blues to start NFL Sunday...I promise you it's worth the add on. And as a bonus, the Fox channels will add to your college football with Pac 10 and Big XII and SEC games each week in both hoops and football.
Take care all...Money...it's all good...you can't hit every day...nice start and keep hammerin. And for the record, if you want to post soccer knock yourself out. There's one guy on this site who I wish would share his valuable nag hoops plays in the dance next year. His plays are cash money and even though I don't enjoy the women roundball, you can't turn away the good money. EJ>....let's roll...and when are you gonna start posting futbol? Win or lose, the more posting the better. There are a lot of leagues in futbol and I only follow 3 of them religously. Nice to see Money working Holland and the Far east...that leaves about 15 professional leagues that have daily lines.
I'm out..sorry for the ramble..looking forward ro rollin with you boyz on the big game Sunday morning. Will have my Saturday EPL card up on Friday night.

PC,
I'd love to cap some futbol for ya, but I've learned long ago that I'm no good at it. I'll leave that up to you and MoneyCanada. I've been pick riding all year and I want to thank the both of you for all the hard work.
I'm pumped for the game as well. As a Man U fan, I'm rooting for the draw.
For this weekend, I think there's tremendous value on Middlesborough over Derby at +140. A draw is a possibility, but I think Derby has shown that they don't deserve to be in the Premiership. They seem to be getting worse as the season progresses.

16-10-1 ATS +13.45 units
Play #1:
Portsmouth -1/2 +110
Portsmouth has made a surprising run all the way to 5'th in the table and now are realistically thinking about Europe. (EUFA play in either Cup or Champions). They have had a nice run and played well. Even though Spurs have made some changes and are starting to play to potential, but this team should focus on staying in the premeirship and getting back to last year's form. I like Portsmouth to win at home.
1.5 units to win 1.65 units on Portsmouth - 1/2 goal.
Play #2:
Manchester City -133 ML at home against Bolton. The Wanderers have played better lately but I'll take the juice and roll Sven's boys at home where they are yet to lose.
2.66 units to win 2 units on Manchester City to win in regulation time
Play #3:
Aston Villa/Sunderland over 2 1/2 goals +115.
You gotta be kidding me, two teams that don't play defense (19 and 31 goals allowed respectively) and both teams can score. The juice should be on the over, not the under. These teams should hit 4 goals as Villa finally has fit strikers for this match.
1.5 units to win 1.7 units on Villa over 2 1/2 +115
Play #4:
Blackburn Rovers +125 ML to win in regulation time. Blackburn has been playing much better lately and I don't see Wigan snapping their 5 game winless streak against a Blackburn team that plays good defense. THe under is a good play too but I'm just rollin Blackburn to win in regulation time.
1.5 units to win 1.8 units on Blackburn in 90 minutes

In what was clearly a defensive first half, the boys in Blue had very few chances but some nice shots on goal against Arsenal. It was interesting for me to see that John Terry has been a marked man. His 2H substitution is almost certain and that's good news for the gpers on Arsenal. he's a world class player for Chelsea's defense and it could open up fabregas on a 2ndary run.
Anyways...Arsenal puts one in right before the half as world class keeper Petr Cech makes a rookie mistake on not coming off his line for a corner. Arsenal finished with form as William Galles bulged the bag and gave us the 1-0 lead right before half.
Let's hope it holds....but I really think if you watched this first half that Arsenal at home was pressing hard and at least getting involved. Chelsea had a few good strokes but with Wright Phillips as one of your weapons and no Drogba, your in trouble.
LET'S GO ARSENAL

I got what I think is an easy winner. Even if Sven sits Petrov and others, I'll take my chances that Man City and my boys can keep their undefeated ledger at home. The only team in the premiership who has won every game at home and now they face a side which just got their first road win of the season. I think Man City continues the home ledger.

I got 3 today and a best bet:
BEST BET: Bolton -1/2 -117
2.3 units to win 2 units
Bolton is on fIYAH! They beat Man City at Man City to give them their first blemish. This team is firing right now and I'll ride them after they burned me last time out against Man City. Should be a high scoring affair as well.
2nd Play:
Roll with me on West Ham +130 for the game line. (THey tie it's a push.) Something tells me West Ham takes 3 points today in a game that they should strive for 1. This team is not playing very well but the trends in this match suggest West Ham will win.
1 unit to win 1.3 units on West Ham
3rd Play:
We've been hammering selectively on this when Liverpool is at Anfield and singing you Never Walk Alone. Easily one of the top 5 home venues in futbol around the world in my opinion. This team plays beautiful futbol and has a plethora of forwards who can score. I am one of the few Yanks who thinks Peter Crouch deserves full time status in the starting 11. He's on a 3 game ban for a Chelsea red card, but there is still plenty of talent including the return of Alonso at midfield from injury. Liverpool needs the 3 points desperately after losing to Man United last Sunday. I can't see them getting shut out again and they should unleash Gerrard today on a hapless defense.

Guys, I got two for today...if you know ANYTHING about futbol there is a huge one on the radar today as Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona do battle today at 12:00PM CST. I will post on that and the Chelsea/Blackburn tilt...
Chelsea/Blackburn...
We're gonna take a risk and roll on Chelsea -1/2 -117. I think that Lampard and company won't allow back to back losses for the first time this year. Chelsea was 4-0 in their last 4 on the road before running into Arsenal and PC's GOY in the EPL last Sunday. Even without Drogba, I think Chelsea will capitalize and win the 3 points against a Blackburn team that won't get relegated, but doesn't have the talent that the top 5 have.
ROLL WITH ME ON CHELSEA -117 -1/2 goal
2.3 units to win 2 units on Chelsea at 10:00 AM CST
LA LIGA:
Man, what a game with what names. Henry, Ronaldhino, the Ruud boy, it's an all star clash for braggin rights at the top of La Liga. Barcelona can lose this game and still maintain their top spot at the table. But we gotta play this one. I can't get away from the value and I'm gonna risk on this one.
Roll with me on Real Madrid to pull the upset. I've watched both teams a lot this year and right now I think Real is playing the better futbol. They are also 4 points behind in the table and this would be a huge statment to get 1 or 3 points on the road. They have the talent and the value is wonderful on the upset.
ROLL WITH ME ON REAL MADRID +245
1 unit to win 2.4 units
GL Boys...
If you want more action consider the over in Derby and CA Osusuana (+110) in La Liga.
Only counting the posted two on record..>GL today.

Here's what I got for today:
Play #1:
Bolton over 2 1/2 -105 @ Everton. The Wanderers cashed for us last time out and I still think they are a hot team with good goal scoring. I expect a 3-1 or 3-2 final
2.1 units to win 2 units on Everton/Bolton over 2 1/2.
Play #2:
Manchester United -1 1/2 goals +110. Damn, on the road, laying 2 goals to win is a tall task, but Man U is up to it. With the holiday break, we'll see both Tevez and Ronaldo on the field and a return of VanDeSaar in the goal. This should be enough to get United a 2 goal winna. i can't see Sunderland getting through the solid defense of united. The question is whether United can get past the "bunker in" defense of mentality and give Christiano a shot to finish.
Roll with me on Man united -1 1/2 goals +110
1 unit to win 1.1 unit
Play #3 BST BET:
Arsenal/Portsmouth under 2 1/2 goals -125. I hate the extra juice but Portsmouth is a defensive juggernaut at home and has an incredible record on the under. In the last 5 games at Portsmouth there has been a total of 4 goals scored in the last 5 games. In addition, the last time these two hooked up at Portsmouth we saw a 0-0 draw. Portsmouth gives Arsenal fits at home and I don't expect that to change. Let's say 1-1 final.
2.5 units to win 2 units on Arsenal under 2 1/2.
GOOD LUCK ALL...Hurry up, they start quick on the first one, 1 1/2 hours on the second one, and 1:45 PM CST on the Arsenal under.

You know I'm on it.
Roll with me on Manchester City @ home against Blackburn. Game of the month:
3 units to win 3.2 units on Manchester City to win in regulation time at home against the Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday morning.
2-1 ATS today (tuesday)
+1.0 unit
Man United (4-0) Win +1.1 unit
Bolton over 2 1/2 -105 (2-0) Loss -2.1 unit
Arsenal under 2 1/2 -120ish (0-0) Win +2 units
26-17-1 ATS +24.1 UNITS
Congrats..sorry we didn't go 3-0 ATS. The wankers callin the Everton game took away a Cahill goal calling it offsides. it wasn't, but that's how it goes. I'm bitter, I wanted the streak to continue but I'll take a 2-1 day again.
ROLL ON MAN CITY GAME OF THE MONTH...They are gonna win this one convincingly.

Lost on man City -3 units today. Sorry fellas...we had a 2-1 lead in the 84'th (and were lucky to have it) but the tying goal was beautiful. Sorry bout that, thought we had a sure fire winner. Blackburn might be a team on the rise...

BEST BET: ARSENAL/EVERTON over 2 1/2 -105
3.15 units to win 3 units
2nd play: Birmingham - 1/2 goal -110
2.2 units to win 2 units
3rd play: Manchester United -222 ML to win in 90 hooked up with Tottenham Hotspur over 2 1/2 -155
1.5 units to win 2.9 units
Re cap:
Arsenal over 2 1/2 (-105) 3units
Birmingham - 1/2 (-110) 2units
2 Team parley, Man United ML -222/Tottenham over 2 1/2 -155 (1.5 units/2.9units)

27-20-1 +20.4 Units (1-2 ATS -0.7 units on 12/29.. Won Arsenal +3, Lost two teamer -1.5, lost Birmi -2.2)
Call me a homer..I am taking them money line against Liverpool. Man City has been a monster at home although a draw and a loss in the last 2. Liverpool is considered a big 4 contender but I don't think they have the team chemistry. There's a backlog of talented forwards, accusations of racism against Crouch (which are ridiculous charges stemming over diving by European players), and Rafael Benitez the skip sounds like he's in denial. With Man United's loss today, Liverpool will feel they have a huge opportunity to make up some ground. Well guess what, man city is right there too. You can take the + 1/2 goal if you want, but I am rollin the money line in regular time.
1.5 unit to win 3.6 units (+240) on Manchester City over Liverpool
.5 unit on the draw line to tie in regular time (+215)
Second Play:
To cover my homer play on man city. I think Blackburn has more than enough in the tank to take down doormat Derby on the road. The Rovers have been playing well and are hungry for an "easy" 3 points in the table. Finally healthy, Blackburn looks like the team that has made some serious headlines in finals the past few weeks. I only hope they don't come in over confident.
2.5 units to win 2 units (-125) on Blackburn -125 to win in regulation time. (No back on the draw line)
GL Sunday.
Thanks Scrilla...Middle almost made it a very good day and fricken Ronaldo misses a penalty kick that would have made it at least a 1 team hit on the parley..but I'm not bitching..the Everton/Arsenal game was very enjoyable. I thought we were gonna see a good old fashioned English scrap on the pitch at the end of the game. And whoever the Arsenal fan was, I'm becoming a huge fan of the keeper. He never seems to be out of position. And I've seen a lot of Everton lately. Arteta is a special player and one of the reasons they have become competitive. We got some time off from the EPL during winter break. I'll see ya in a couple of weeks. Hope your enjoying the futbol posting in it's first year. After Sunday I'm gonna go to all the threads and add up my futbol record for the 1'st year on Gotpicks. You guys have a great New Year's and thanks again for the futbol thread on Gotpicks. Great to see the beautiful game getting some play on Gotpicks.

Here's my card:
PARLEY:
1 unit to win 4.1 units
Bolton -200 ML to win in regulation time
Blackburn -175 ML to win in regulation time
Man City under 2 1/2 -150
Over 2 1/2 in Wigan/Liverpool.
I love all four of these plays but don't like the high juice. So I have this 4 team parley I'm advocating you play. If you don't like the odds on 4 legs bump off Bolton or Wigan over..
Play #2:
Sunderland over 2 1/2..they might get one but Blackburn is gonna get a whole lot more. Should be a 4 or more game especially after the EPL did not see ONE game go over yesterday. Law of averages says we are gonna have barn burners today.
2.2 units to win 2 units on Sunderland/Blackburn over
Play #3:
man City/Newcastle..>Draw line
1 unit to win 2.2 units
I thin these teams are going to draw either 0-0 or 1-1...which leads me to my next bet below....
Play #4:
man City/Newcastle under 2 1/2 -150
3 units to win 2 units. This bet is my Best bet and to cover the tie I'm going after on Play #3.
GL today.
Got these games intersected in parleys and straight..but I betcha I come out ahead$$$

Let's bang:
I'm on the over today in Liverpool 2 1/2.
4 units for me. Should be a cracking day on the pitch with Liverpool's ownership, coaching, and players all in a tiff. Every time they gotta circle the wagons they explode offensively. Should be a good one today but I got the pool to get me over 2 1/2

got banged on the pool over last time out..here's my card for today:
Man City +330 to win...1 unit ( I just can't go against my boys at home. Remember Man United..Chelsea might be looking ahead to the Champions league and other competitions.)
BEST BET: Reading/NewCastle over 2 1/2 -110. Reading always gets me the over and Newcastle has finally awakened from their slumber to avoid relegation. A big big game for both teams. I think we'll hit this easily.
3 units
BEST BET: Birmingham/Wigan over 2 1/2 +130
Pompey and Wigan should be a barnburner today. I think the line is in favor of the under due to weather and injuries..but man, I'm tellin ya, these two teams can bulge the bag, especially with the defenses they are playing today. Big game for both as we approach the end of the season. I'm predicting a 2-2 result.

1-2 last post out..got robbed on my 2nd over.
Anyways..got my 2008 Game of the year in the EPL
BEST BET:
My first ever 5 unit play in the EPL..
If your familiar with European futbol, you know they do a very interesting standings (called table) where at the finish of each year, the bottom 3 teams get sent down and the top 3 teams come up.
For Example:
In the english Premiership (EPL)
3 teams will fall down to the English championship AKA the Coca Cola championship...the top 3 teams at the end of the regular season in the English championship will then move up to the Premiership. I think it's a great way to leagues and keeps the talent fresh. Anyways, I apologize if you already know this, if you don't you need to if you follow my play in the EPL this Saturday.
Fulham vs. Reading
Let's start by saying you won't see a team with more Americans than reading. I've had a blast this year watching Clint Dempsey hone his skills in the EPL. Three americans are starting in the goal in the EPL, and overall, America is starting to get representation on the fields (pitch) of Europe. This game is huge, first let's look at the standings:
1 Man Utd 33 15 1 1 41 5 9 4 3 29 12 +53 77
2 Chelsea 33 11 5 0 32 10 11 3 3 26 13 +35 74
3 Arsenal 33 12 5 0 34 11 8 6 2 29 16 +36 71
4 Liverpool 33 10 6 1 39 12 7 6 3 18 13 +32 63
5 Everton 33 10 3 3 29 13 8 3 6 20 14 +22 60
6 Portsmouth 33 7 7 2 24 12 9 1 7 23 21 +14 56
7 Aston Villa 33 9 3 5 29 19 5 7 4 27 25 +12 52
8 Blackburn 33 7 6 4 22 17 6 6 4 21 22 +4 51
9 Manchester City 33 10 4 3 23 16 3 6 7 14 23 -2 49
10 West Ham Utd 33 6 5 5 18 19 6 3 8 17 21 -5 44
11 Tottenham 33 8 3 5 44 30 2 7 8 18 26 +6 40
12 Newcastle 33 7 5 5 23 24 3 3 10 17 34 -18 38
13 Sunderland 33 8 3 5 19 16 2 3 12 13 34 -18 36
14 Middlesbrough 33 5 5 6 17 21 3 6 8 13 26 -17 35
15 Wigan Athletic 33 8 3 5 20 14 1 4 12 10 33 -17 34
16 Reading 33 8 2 7 19 22 1 3 12 18 39 -24 32
17 Birmingham 33 5 6 5 23 19 2 3 12 15 32 -13 30
18 Bolton 33 5 5 7 20 18 1 3 12 10 34 -22 26
19 Fulham 33 4 5 8 20 29 0 7 9 10 27 -26 24
20 Derby County 33 1 5 10 10 27 0 3 14 6 41 -52 11
Fulham has 24 points, Reading has 32. The bottom 3 (currently Bolton-26, Fulham 24 and Derby..who has already clinched a step down) are all fighting to stay out and for Fulham, this represents the best chance to get 3 and fight out of the 18'th spot. Reading is in the same boat, one or two more wins, and they will be "safe" for next year's competition. Here's why I'm so heavy on this game:
1.) I've been playing Reading over all year. Go check out the thread if your bored. Anyways, I play on the Reading over based again on their numbers. Let's break down how they roll both home and away. (And Yes, PC is a homer because he follows the Yankees in England..can't wait for the day we own that league$$) Here are some trends and stats for ya:
**In 33 games, Fulham has allowed 52 goals, Reading has allowed 61.
That's damn near 3.6 goals a game allowed average. (I use a little bit more complex formula than just 113 divided by 33..factor in injuries and weather as well as strength of schedule).
**To give you an idea of how bad defensively these two teams are, here are the top 4 teams in goals allowed this year in 33 games:
--Man United 17 goals
--Chelsea 23 goals
--Arsenal 27 goals
Liverpool 25 goals
**The first matchup was a 3-1 score.
Let's look at the offensive side of the pitch:
Bolton's scored 30, Reading's scored 37.
Clearly, two teams that have terrible defense. Don't let the low goal totals scare you. Remember that when your losing 2-0 or 3-0, most teams are playing defense and trying to quell the storm. But from a numbers perspective, the defenses should allow both teams to excel on the offense.
Keepers:
American Marcus Hannehamn (sp?) is a good young prospect for the US National team, but not on the level of Howard, Keller(his opponent this match) or even Friedel. He's getting there, but he comes off his line way too much.
Americans:
wow, we got a lot of em. Bobby Convey, Kasey Keller, Marcus H, Clint Dempsey, Brian McBride, Eddie Johnson..it's great to see. Anyways, they will have a huge impact on the game and decide the outcome. I know the US national team looks bad offensively in the past, but Dempsey has been playing very well in the midfield and if McBride is teamed with Healy, I expect 5 goals today.
My logic:
Both teams are fighting to stay in the Premiership with Reading having the upper hand. This translates to high scoring for both teams as they are desperate to get the 3 points. I really think because of the relegation battle both teams will go hard on the offensive. I'm really hoping we see McBride and healy on the pitch..it will translate to our over.
This is a desperation game and one team won't bunker in at 1-0 or 2-0..the action should be very fast as both offensive minded teams with weak defense try to get a big lead.
PC's 2008 ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP GAME OF THE YEAR:
Over 2 1/2 Reading/Fulham +105
5*****
Disclaimer: If it is snowing or the weather is extremely bad, I'm down to 2 units. But from what I saw tonight, it should be fine.
GL whatever your on.

LOST GOY on some wood last time out...
Today...
Chelsea Even to win in 90 minutes against league power Everton.
2 units to win 2 units
We're close to the end of the season. Chelsea can still catch United and have a huge match at Stamford against Man U later in the week. This is a must win on the road if they have any intention of hoisting the Barclay's trophy in a couple of weeks. everton is a solid squad, but Chelsea is the ONLY team with a chance to catch Man U and I think we see their desperation today.
Prediction: 1-0 Chelsea

Let's roll:
EDITED AFTER I JUST BOOKED WITH LOCAL..>BETTER LINES
I have an interesting card but it's based on value and trying to stay away from the heavy juice we see this time of the season in the EPL. Relegation and the title are still up for grabs..let's see how it plays out.
BEST BET:
West Ham over 2 1/2 -105 WIN
3.15 units to win 3
Toomuch numbers and logic. Put simply, my biggest futbol bet of the day.
Play #2:
Liverpool +130 to win. (Will they look ahead to Tuesday's huge match against Chelsea in the Champions League Semi final? I don't think so and you'll see Benitez sharpen the pencil to get 3 points and stay wide of Everton in the chase for Europe. Fulham has the squad to pull the upset but they would be well served to get 1 point, but I just don't see it happening. Pool is rallying around their team as the ownership has more drama than Steinbrennar during a losing streak. Don't believe me? Go to soccernet.com and check out the drama behind Liverpool's ownership. An American and a wanker battling it out for supremacy. The deeper pocket wins but Hicks and Perry are the sideshow, the real drama is unfolding on the pitch and I'll take Pool to get by Fulham in a tight one.
2 units to win 2.6 units. WIN
Play #3:
Spurs over 2 1/2 +100
Again, going on a totals formula I use. This one should hit 4 but we'll see.
2 units to win 2 unitsLOSS
Play #4:
I'm a glutton for punishment. READING over 2 1/2 against Arsenal
3 units to win 2 units over 2 1/2 in reading. LOSS
All 4 hooked with Man United for an EPL 5 teamer. That's right, 5 teamer.
Man United -200LOSS
Spurs over 2 1/2 +100
Reading over 2 1/2 -150
Liverpool +130
West ham over 2 1/2 -105
**1/2 unit to win 18.5 units. I am counting this one on my record. I studied hard for this week's fixtures. I'll double check weather but this is the card I've layed out since Wednesday. United looks good, but I won't risk the juice on a team that might be overplaying and waiting for their own Champions league match against SuperLiga Power FC Barcelona.
Gentlemen, the Champions league semi's are Tue and Wed. the next two weeks at 1:45 PM CST..it is your American right to skip work and watch these fabulous matches. Tell your boss to call me if he or she has a bitch, I'll set em straight.
Best week of the year for futbol..Euro 2008 getting ready to kick, Semi's of the champions league, MLS is in full gear, the Euro leagues namely the EPL and La Liga are gonna go down to the wire and maybe even the last matchs of the year. Get excited, I'm gonna be flappin my gums all week. Look for Champions League plays, I already got them figured out for this week in the Chelsea/Liverpool (total play) game and the United/Barcelona game (side.)
Let's ROLL
Olay
Ole ole ole

OLAY$$$$
Edited my card after shopping the lines for the last hour. I implore you, if you only use a local, get an online..they are sometimes so far apart it's amazing. Takis gave me another site that has opposite lines so I'll play that malarky all day. Who needs Vegas, just shop and you'll get good value.

Man what a game between Chelsea/United on Saturday...
anyways..I love the over 2 1/2 in everton/villa today. Everton still dreams of Europe and this should be a very entertaining game. I worry that both teams who are secure from relegation will start some younger lads on the pitch to see how they do, but Everton still dreams of Europe and UEFA cup play so they should come out with a positive result. Villa is a solid team and very offensively minded. I'm going small because it's the end of the year but I do like this play enough to post and play.

1.) Man united over 3 goals (3 is a push)
3.45 units to win 3 WIN
2.)Spurs/Reading over 2 1/2 -120 LOSS
3.6 units to win 3
Opinions not betting:
West ham to draw +450 (Man U letdown game after winning a trip to Moscow against Barca earlier in the week)
Birmingham to surprise and win @ +185 over Fulham. (This line is low because Fulham is trying to avoid relegation to the championship)

WE HAVE TONS OF DRAMA THIS WEEKEND. I will finish up my first year of Premiership on GP with a solid card that includes 2-3 unit plays and a nice sized doggie that I've circled since Monday. Let's go out with a bang. It's been a nice season and I thank those that trusted me pick winners for ya in futbol. Overall we had a good season and definetely showed a nice unit profit. Thanks for following futbol and riding on the premiership. Glad we could make some loot this season.
