ok i split yesterday as i shouldn't bet those stupid one inning prop bets. luckily i had more loot on k.c. so i won a little but i should have just rolled it on the royals as i really liked them.
record is now 65-31-4.

I can't believe I missed with the Yanks. They are a streaky team though.

Off to the cottage this weekend, but I have some NFL picks for Saturday, all for two units.
Houston +3. Houston coach is in win mode, while the Zona coach is in evaluation mode.
New Orleans +3.5 The offense is picking up their game for the Saints and Payton will want to rebound after two losses. Like Miami last night, I see them showing up for this one.
St.Louis +2.5 Norv Turner has his team in pre-season mode. Sitting Tomlinson and avoiding injuries at all costs. In the last quarter vs Seattle, his team was already on the bus! Their O was going three and out and the D let in 17 points. Good home dog here.
Seattle +2.5 McCarthy was a new coach last hear and went 1-3. Historically, new coaches are money in the preseason. It seems McCarthy doesn't care about the pre-season. Compare that with Holmgren, who has a winning record in pre-season. I think Seattle has something to prove, after last year's mediocre year.

so far i'm 2-0 in preseason.
i like the pats -5 1/2. they blew out both teams last year in their home preseason games.

The Cards have now won five straight while out-scoring opponents 46-10. Brandon Looper has owned this Cub lineup. He is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA against them this year, and over the past two seasons, in 24 innings, has an outstanding 1.13 ERA against them. The Cubs are just 4-10 in their last 14 games, and the struggles are on the mound. They have allowed 87 runs, good for 6.2 a game. The Cubs are just 5-12 in his Hill's 17 starts. He has worked through 6+ innings in 12 of his first 13 starts, but has managed to do so in just 4 of his last 10. The Cards are a hot team with a pitcher that has solved this Cub lineup. The Cubs are struggling - winning just 29% of their last 14 games.

Since July 1st, the Nats are 23-18 and the Mets are 21-19. They have been terrific at home, posting a 14-4 mark and an amazing 11-3 record as a home dog. The Nats are 18-15 vs. LHP. They feature eight players hitting .280+ vs. lefties. Since May 8th, Glavine has worked 102 innings, allowed 119 hits, and has pitched to a 4.94 ERA. His ERA prior to May 8th was 2.98. The Nats also feature seven hitters that have combined to go 37-100 vs. Glavine in their career, good for a .370 average. The Mets may be without Millege and Delgado again. My favourite doggie; a home doggie.

All right, we hit the KC under (thanks for the props phanto..good luck with Floozie or whatever the name of that sucker is) to make it 2-1 ATS preseason NFL.
Here's my best bet for tonight:
I'm gonna roll under 35 in the Jets/Vikings. Here's why:
Jets went over in their first preseason game. This team doesn't impress me as an offensive juggernaut and the Purple People Eaters Part II look decent enough. In addition, the skill players on both offenses are in flux. Pennington is trying to come back, Tavaras Jackson is trying to be the Minny starter, the running game is in the hands of rookie Adrian Peterson and some goal line bangers. I think we see a game in the mid 20's tonight unless the defenses get the over against me. No way these offenses get in a shoot out tonight.
ROLL WITH ME ON UNDER 35 in the Jets/Vikings.
Honorable mention not counting on Record:
Carolina ML +140 @ Philly. Better 2nd and 3rd units for Carolina that will get extensive time against Philly's 2nd teams. I'm interested to see how Jarret and Colbert do in the battle for position on the depth chart.
