General Data
Gonna try to base this as close to Chris's bases contest as we can to save confusion. PC hope you don't mind but I am cutting/pasting some of this right from the bases contest thread:
**100% of all entry fees goes back to contestants.
Entry Fee: 50.00 payable to contest treasurer, Ricky at Gotpicks.
Each week I will post the lines to be used for the contest, lines will go up the morning of the first scheduled game. There are no substitutes, you will use the lines posted each week.
Each handicapper will post 4 plays a week. They will be on a one unit system. They can play all 4 in one day, one a day, whatever you want. However, you will only be allowed 4 posts a week.
Each pick is worth 1 unit or 100.00. We will use spreads and totals ONLY no ML or half plays.
After Week 12, the field will be cut down to the best 6 unit totals CTD (Contest to Date).
After Week 15, the field will be cut down to the best 4 unit totals CTD (Contest to Date) Important to note..we do not reset records after any cut. All records are based on YTD totals in the contest.
Week 16 will start a head to head final four based on seedings. The #1 overall handicapper YTD will face the #4 handicapper YTD and the #2 handicapper will face the #3 handicapper YTD.
Week 17 of NFL will be the finals and 3rd place game.
GENERAL RULES
** All games ( 4 total in a week) have to be on a Spread play or a total play.
** Picks must be submitted 15 minutes BEFORE the first game that DAY, thus you will not have to pick your Sunday plays on Thursday, but you will be required to pick any plays for any given day 15 minutes before the kick of the first game of that day. **You can play all 4 of your plays in a day, 2 on one day, whatever you want. BUT IT WILL ALWAYS BE 4 PLAYS A WEEK. You can not have 3 one week and 5 the next week.
**Anyone that does not have 4 plays each week will be penalized -1 unit for each play that does not go off.
**In the event of a tie breaker for when we cut the field, here is the tie breakers:
1st tie-breaker: Best UNIT TOTAL IN WEEK 11.
2nd tie-breaker: Of all teams tied who has the best 1 Week total in Weeks 1-11.
Prize Pool Distribution:
50.00 donation to gotpicks for paypal fees at payout time
1st Place: 60% of fees (sorry fellas I'm not copying PC and gettin a trophy)
2nd place: 25% of fees
3rd place: 15% of fees
4th place: A big fat attaboy
RULES ON POSTING FOR YOUR PICKS
**You must list the Team you are playing on and the line from the post above.
**You must use the lines I have posted
**Once you post a play, it is final, any post that is edited by anyone other than a contest Mod or Ricky will be considered a no action.
**You can not post a play on a team and then pull it off the board. Once it is posted, it is final. So, with that being said, make sure they are what you want when they go up. We will not allow you to change your mind after posting. (This is to insure fairness so that people will not change their plays based on what a competitor is doing.)
So lets get it started fellas pigskins are right around the corner. We need some more enteants to do this thing. Where are you BIGDOG foots cappers? I see a bunch of new blood signed up already but where are you old schoolers at? Sunday? PC? how bout the pro's? Southern? BP? lets do this fellas.

I'm in even though I'm not the greatest at NFL...a few general questions:
1.) I assume totals are good?
2.) Can you play moneylines?
3.) Week starts Thursday or just Sunday games?
When will the lines be posted for the week/day?

Totals are good, No moneylines, lines will be posted the morning of the 1st game that week no matter if it's Thursday or Sunday. State contest..hmm guess I'll have to get ahold of CapCon for team PA huh. Thanks for gettin involved bro

Is there any way that you can either post the lines earlier than the morning of the game OR let us post our plays earlier in the week with the assumption that we take whatever line you post.
I go to all of the Bear's home games and we get there very early. I won't be able to post on Sunday morning (if there are no Thursday games). For baseball this worked out okay since there were basically games every day.
Example:
If my book has the Bears at +7 week one and I want to play the Bears, I could post them on Friday night as "bears" and it would be for whatever line you end up posting.
What do you think?

Good idea..yes that will have to work for those not able to post in a.m. of game...you could post early or just pm me either or

Tuesday is a whole better Hilly if it's not to much of a problem, but I guess since we are just doing NFL, it really doesnt matter, just as long as we get em before the weekend...

Will throw em up on Tuesday mornings. Remember you must plst a play 15 minutes before the kick of the game you want.
