How to play long term...
A friend asked me the other day how I managed to gamble straight for over 10 years and I thought it was a good question. I'm a daily player year round for over 10 years running and I gave him 3 tips to staying in the game:
1.) when you win, put 1/2 of your winnings that week away and spend the other half. Every schemp I know that got busted by gambling spent his winnings like an idiot week in week out.
2.) Know your strengths and weaknesses. I am one arrogant Son of a bitch when it comes to college hoops. I'll put my Mo Valley record 3 years running against any capper in the country ATS and unit wise. My point...I rock hoops and usually MLB (a little cold the past few weeks) and some other sports..but I know when to pickride or not play. NFL sides I did allright on webcomo last year and totals here okay. But I ride guys that I know can produce and it works.
3.)MOST IMPORTANT: don't go overboard. As Ultimatecapper will tell you, I've had to take 2 or 3 weeks off from playing to make sure I wasn't dipping into MY money. When losing, don't chase and play out of your boundaries. Every guy I know who is busted is out because he owes a huge amount he can't pay. If you cut yourself off when your having a bad week, you can shoot back..Hell, if it takes you 2 or 3 weeks to catch up, don't play. By following 1 and 3 you can play all day, all week, all year.
That's all I got. It was a good question and I thought I would throw it out here. Most of you already know this...guys like BP, Ricky, JT, Takis, Sunday, and Como have proven to me that you can pickride with success. I never played a hockey minute in my life but I showed a 4K profit this year in pucks thanks to Takis and MC and a few others. Know who to ride and take the time to research their records. I have tons of respect for guys who post their records every day. It's hard to do when your cold, but it's fair. I wouldn't want people riding me if I'm cold and I think that people don't post their records sometimes because they are embaressed. Anyways, good luck this year and let's roll$$$$$

It isn't hitting 70% over 10 years that makes one succesful, because to be honest, THATS NOT GONNA HAPPEN .. but "UNDERSTANDING" what we do here ... This is more a head game than a Knowledge of a sport game (The most Knowledgable will lose $$) ... Gotta know as PC Said your strengths your weaknesses, and when to take a break and when to push forward. I (BP) take breaks here and there ... knowing your spots is important ... NEVER FORCING ...

KNOWING HOW TO LOSE IS THE KEY TO WINNING OVERALL !!!
Anybody can win a day or a week ... but WIN OVERALL and thats where you are a winner .. LONG TERM !!!!

Very good points guys. I have been doing this 4 years and have been in the positive every year.
I have had a few weeks where I pay the piper like all. I know when to shut it down and try again next week. Its alot easier for me to stroke a 3k check vs. chasing it and end up down 9k.
The key for me is to focus on one area of the sport and cap the hell out of it vs. trying to 1/2 ass know 120 college teams. I try to know alot about 10 or so and pick my spots.
I will also ride a hot team ATS til they don't cover. I made a nice handful of cash on BYU 1st qtrs last year. Mavericks O 1st 1/2's at home this year where on fire all season!!
I have gained something from each guy on this board..except GT, he's a wanker
(kidding)Most guys on here excel in certain areas and thats what, "This thing of ours" is all about. If I can lean 3 others in sports I am weak on..I just became 4X a better capper and put the full nelson on my book that much more. I can't tell you how many times I heard,"WHO THE FUCK TAKES CREIGHTON?" When I was picking up cash that week.
My point to all this rambling is there are some great guys on this board and over all we all become better gamblers with the help provided from most. Thanks to all that post and cap in chat!
P.S: I will be sending my book a postcard from the Bahamas this week saying thanks!!
