Here are the group brackets...US has a killer group and It will be interesting to see...

I will start my capping on this tourney with plays for each group. If anyone wants to advance plays send me a PM. I only know of one GPer that plays futbol regularly and would play to advance lines.
Take care...let's ROLL USA....Great showing in CONACAF..now we get Latin America's best.

Uruguay
Peru
Bolivia
Group B:

Copa AMerica Play #1:
Roll with me on Venezueala -1 goal -120.
The host country fields their best futbol team in years and looks to make an impression on the home crowd. Bolivia is garbage and shouldn't do much other than enjoy pool play. I can't see Venezuela not winning this one by 2+ goals.
1 unit on Venezuela -1 -120
Copa America Play #2:
Uruguay ML -125
Again, a better team playing an inferior one. I only need a win to cover this one and don't have to lay the goal. Uruguay should get it done today with their solid defense. I just hope we don't have a 0-0 tie.
1 unit on Uruguay ML -125
good luck boys.
Copa America record: 0-0 ATS 2 games pending.

Chris...nice to see you on Uruguay. Picking my spots these days and I love this team against Peru tonight. Recoba, arguably their best player, is doubtful for Uruguay but Peru also has a couple key injuries tonight.
Uruguay -125 ML for me too!

Real bad start 0-2 -2.5 units
Here's what I have for tonight:
I'm on Brazil/Mexico over 2 1/2 goals -110. A huge matchup and an exciting game, but I think we're going to be surprised at the scoring. Drtnapper, I feel for ya on the games last night. Very unexpected results..especially Bolivia and the 4-0 spanking.
Anyways, back to this game. The Mexicans are coming off the 2-1 loss in Chi Town and will play a team that opens up offensively. The best thing that can happen is a Mexico first score which will make the Brazilians push. Sometimes I think Brazil trys to look perfect and over passes but in tonight's game they will take what they can get from the Tri Colores.
ROLL WITH ME ON OVER 2 1/2 goals -110
2 units for me
I'll put 1 unit on Chile +155 in the 2nd game. The draw seems to be the play but this tourney had a very unexpected start and from what I've seen and read of Chile...I have to play them to win in 90 minutes.
ROLL WITH ME ON CHILE +155 1 unit

We are bringing a "B" team to Venezuela. The way it's going though, I wouldn't count out the US...we are going to be huge dogs tomorrow against an Argentinian side that brought their A team. let's hope we can take 2nd in the group.

Copa America purely a learning experienceFrank Dell'Apa

On the final day of group games in the 1995 Copa America, Argentina coach Daniel Passarella decided to rest several starters against the U.S. After the U.S. took a three-goal lead, Passarella sent in Gabriel Batistuta and others, but it was too late; the U.S. avoided a quarterfinal date with Brazil, which instead eliminated Argentina.
Tony Quinn/WireImage
Benny Feilhaber will anchor the U.S. midfield in the Copa America.
Alfio "Coco" Basile has returned as Argentina's coach -- he was replaced by Passarella after the '94 World Cup -- and he is not likely to underestimate the U.S. However, this U.S. team should not be overestimated since it is a "B" team, a hodgepodge group scraped together a few days before the start of the tournament.
And the U.S. is getting thrown right into the deep end of the Copa America pool against a likely Argentina starting 11 of Roberto Abbondanzieri, Javier Zanetti, Roberto Ayala, Gabriel Milito, Gabriel Heinze, Juan Sebastian Veron, Javier Mascherano, Esteban Cambiasso, Juan Roman Riquelme, Lionel Messi and Hernan Crespo. Basile's only doubt is whether to stay conservative, with two holding midfielders, or to go offensive by replacing Cambiasso with Pablo Aimar.
The days of the U.S. taking teams by surprise should be ending. But the U.S. is still developing an identity. U.S. players will be persistent and well-conditioned, with individual skill. Copa America should show how these qualities translate into a team game in international competition.
Several years ago, top-level national teams seldom compiled an accurate scouting report on the U.S., believing the team was a homogenous group. So Brazil, for instance, did not pay attention to Preki and paid the price in the 1998 Gold Cup. Argentina, Paraguay and Colombia probably viewed Benny Feilhaber's long-distance ability in the Gold Cup final against Mexico, and now Feilhaber will likely be marked even more closely than he deserves.
How Feilhaber responds could be an indication of which direction the U.S. goes. First, Feilhaber's survival instincts will be tested by Mascherano and Veron. Will Feilhaber then retreat into the U.S. half, as Claudio Reyna tended to do? If so, will Feilhaber still be able to influence the game, as Reyna was able to do?
And, should the U.S. be without a Feilhaber or Kyle Beckerman, it will need to produce threats through individual enterprise. The team was able to do so in the Gold Cup, but that was because of the abilities of DaMarcus Beasley, Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan; without those players, it is difficult to imagine the U.S. presenting much of an offensive threat. So that means the team will have to be in a defensive alignment, though that plays directly into the hands of an Argentina. Yes, Ricardo Clark should play a big role in midfield, as he did against Mexico in Chicago Sunday. But against Argentina, Clark will also not be able to get away with weak clearances, as he did against the Mexicans.
It is always fascinating to observe how U.S. players measure up on the international stage. Jonathan Bornstein has passed every test so far, but he will have to be more cautious in his upfield forays in Copa America. Beckerman's guile works in the MLS, but he might have to be even more clever now. Justin Mapp easily glides past MLSers, but can he do so against ruthless South American internationals? How will the speed of Charlie Davies and Herculez Gomez measure up?
U.S. players such as Eddie Johnson and Taylor Twellman have flaws but, placed in a favorable environment, surrounded by top-level players, they would thrive. Unfortunately, that will not be the case at the Copa. Some unfair judgments could be made of U.S. players, should the team struggle in this event. But the experience should be worthwhile. Tournaments such as the Copa America are the only way for the U.S. national team to make progress before the 2010 World Cup. The U.S. likely will not return to the '09 Copa America, since it will be playing in the Gold Cup and Confederations Cup that year.
The U.S. needs to approach Copa America with low expectations, take some lumps, and learn some lessons.

Lets not forget Argentina has TEVEZ on the bench as well. It will be hard for the USA to match up against the firepower Aregentina has to offer. Argentina will put in 2 or 3 tonight unless Keller ha a blinder. The USA has the means to score so I will agree with PC on the over 2.5.. Watch how quick Justin Mapp gets up and down the filed....I just wish he could cross a better ball!
By the way, Mexico always plays South American close and quite frankly frequently upsets them. Also, Hugo Sanchez is in deep shit and needs to save his job. Look for Mexico to have a nice run in the COPA.

I tried doing the same thing, but nogo. Instead, I parlayed it with the Phillies.
One of my books stopped letting me parlay ML with O/U for NFL at the end of last year.

They won't allow side parleys unless the game HAS TO HAVE a winner...i.e...final game of copa won't be a tie but go to PK's.
General rule of thumb...if there is a draw line you can't parley a side. Only totals and end result plays.

Copa Record 2-3 ATS -0.8 Units
(hit last two plays Chile and USA over)
Tonight, I got some action for us:
ROLL WITH ME ON COLOMBIA ARGENTINA OVER 3 +100
TOTAL OF THE COPA PLAY
The Argentinian side is loaded on offense and they felt lucky to have the total they had against the US> but I'll tell you this, Crespo looks amazing and I think we'll get to 5 in this one.
ROLL WITH ME ON ARGENTINA over 3 Even
4 Unit play and my total of the Copa.
US game:
I'm taking a small stab at the US +250 ML..Is Paraguay any good? They lost to Colombia a team many picked to finish last in this group. Maybe the US catches them napping and uses the superior conditioning to sneak one at the end.
USA 1 unit to win 2.5

COPA: 3-4 ATS +2.2 units

BEST BET:
Roll with me on Uruguay under 2 1/2 -110
2 units

1-1 ATS yesterdayy..4-5 ATS for the Copa +3.2 Units
Tonight I got two:
Roll with me on over 3 +100 in Brazils' total tonight. They are so due for an offensive explosion against a skilled team. Any time I see 3 I usually roll over but I'm a little leary of this one.
1 unit on Brazil over 3
Roll with me on Mexico -110 ML to win their game. Throw brazil away, the Tri Colores will be effective tonight. They have also captured the home fans and they should have a "home team" kind of feel tonight. I see Marquez and a late subbing Blanco giving us the 2 goal lead late in the 2nd half. Blanco is very overdue as well but I like the new counter attacking that Mexico has been presenting. Marquez is special and I'm not looking forward to seeing him in CONACAF.
2 units on Mexico -110 ML
good luck boyz..taking a break from MLB for a few days.

Tuesday 7/10
Uruguay +450 ------- Over 2½ -125
Brazil -175 ----------- Under 2½ +105
Draw +300
I see VALUE with the DRAW LINE and the UNDER 2-1/2
Brazil has a five-match winless run against their smaller neighbours
Uruguay. Since Brazil beat Uruguay 3-0 in the 1999 Copa America final,
there have been three 1-1 draws - including the 2004 Copa America semi-
final which Brazil won on penalties - a 3-3 draw and a 1-0 win for
Uruguay. Brazil is always heavily favored in these matches.
Wednesday 7/11
Mexico +465 --------- Over 2½ -125
Argentina -200 ------ Under 2½ +105
Draw +310
I see VALUE with the DRAW LINE and the UNDER 2-1/2
In 4 games so far - Mexico has only given up 1 goal, as they tossed 3
SOs - while Argentina has tossed 2 SOs. I look for this to be a 0-0, 1-0 or
a 1-1 game. I cannot see the Mexicans scoring more than one, if at all,
and the Argies will find scoring to be tough also. A 0-0 halftime would be
lovely.
Note the "Massive Parlay Potential" -
Uruguay & Mexico to win in regulation $100 to win $3000
Both Games TIE in regulation $100 to win $1500
Good Luck Bichas -

That tournament really looks like a lot of fun. Did you watch US Brazil or any of the Canada games? It's been very entertaining. Anyways...your country is doing a bang up job of hosting. May break the all time attendance record.
And as for canadien futbol..your boys are on the rise. They might sneak into the Cup this year.

I have to play this tonight:
Roll with me on Mexico/Argentina over 2 1/2 goals. From reading Drt's earlier posts and watching most of this tournament with our friends from Univision. GOL, GOL, GOL, GOL< GOL< GOL...sure beats the hell out of GOOOOOAAAAALLLL in my opinion.
Anyways, on to the game. Dirt, your right about the Mexico defense. But Jesus, they are facing the best that Argentina has offered in a long time. This team is better than the Cup team of 06. Crespo is playing like the world's best player, and from what I've seen, the Argentinian counter attack leaves the wings exposed big time for counters. I don't think either team will get shut out tonight. I'm rollin on the over 2 1/2 goals as I think we'll see at least 3 in regulation time if not more. Mexico hasn't faced an offense this good yet in the Copa (no disrespect Brazil but Argentina is fuckin loaded) and they will be severely tested. If I was Hugo, I would have Blanco (#10) in from the get-go instead of bringing him off the bench in the 2nd half.
This should be a great game that shows the true beauty of the game. I'm very much looking forward to it and hope my over cashes for us. We can't push Drtnapper so one of us will hit. Let's say for PC since I gotta lay the heavy juice.
2 units on over 2 1/2 -140
.5 unit on Mexico to advance +365
.5 unit on Mexico 1H +365
Good luck boys..will update my copa record tomorrow. I haven't bet on the US yet in under 20 and I'm going to lay off as I hope they get a chance to stick it to Brazil again in the Semi's. I was reading the Rio De Janero paper and they are convinced the US just caught Brazil on an off night. Absolutely no fu$$in respect and I want to play them again. I won't bet on them at all as I really think the US side behind our goalie Chris Seitz (anyone see the point blank save at the end of the Brazil game) will get to the semi's or better.
Good luck boys.
