First reall shitty day iin awhile yesterday...will make up for it today with Ben Sheets and the Brewers for 25 Units!!!
The Twins and Brewers open up a weekend series in Milwaukee. Tonight's pitching matchup features Carlos Silva of the Twins versus Ben Sheets of the Brewers. Silva comes in 7-3 with a 4.00 ERA in 13 starts. He has allowed 41 runs on 104 hits with 36 K's, 12 walks and eight homers in 81.0 innings. He was pushed back a day in the starting rotation after straining his gluteus muscle in his previous start last Saturday. In that game he just one run in eight hits with a career-high eight K's, no walks and a homer in 7.0 innings in a 7-1 win over the Phillies. He is 0-0 with a 3.38 ERA in five relief appearances versus the Brewers. Sheets is 5-4 with a 2.66 ERAS and is a much better pitcher than his record indicates. He ranks in the National League's top 10 in ERA, strikeouts, innings pitched and opponents' batting average. Overall, he has allowed just 29 runs on 66 hits with 89 K's, 13 walks and eight homers in 88.0 innings pitched. Last time out he allowed four runs on seven hits with seven K's, two walks and a homer and took the loss in a 5-4 setback versus Houston.
