The Cubs and Astros open up a four game series in Houston. Tonight's pitching matchup should be a good one as Mark Prior takes the mound for the Cubs to face Roger Clemens of the Astros. Prior comes in 0-1 with a 4.66 ERA in two starts since coming off the DL. After missing the first two months of the season with an inflamed right Achilles tendon, Prior pitched six scoreless innings against the Pirates in his first start of the season, registering 8 K's in an eventual 2-1 loss. He was roughed up in his last outing, when he allowed five runs on five hits, with 1 K and 5 walks in just 3.2 innings in a 12-4 loss to the Cardinals. He is 2-3 with a 4.29 ERA in seven career starts versus the Astros. Clemens keeps rolling along and comes in 9-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 12 starts. He has allowed just 19 runs on 54 hits with 88 K's, 33 walks and five homers in 78.0 innings of work. In his last start he allowed no runs on three hits with seven K's and 5 walks in 6.2 innings in a 1-0 road win at Seattle. He has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his last six starts. He beat the Cubs on June 2nd when he allowed one run on five hits with five K's and two walks in 7.0 innings in a 5-1 road win. Clemens is in a groove, while Prior is still getting acclimated with being on the mound. Houston is the choice here.

LOS ANGELES -9 (Large Play) (Simply put, the Sparks will steamroll the Sun this evening; Connecticut is playing its fourth road game in six days, and will be overmatched by a solid Sparks team tonight, looking for revenge from a loss to the Sun earlier this season; Los Angeles seems to be getting on track with two solid home wins in a row; I expect much of the same tonight as the Sparks win by 20 or more)
