It's time to work the magic again boyz....

I have a great best bet for this round, but I'm gonna run it by Aqua in private as he'll have much better info on the climate of the two clubs we are going to look at.

    On April 3'rd...

ROLL WITH ME ON AC Milan to beat FC Bayern Munchen @ San Siro (home game for the Series A Italian Club team).

    Reasons why:

** No Oliver Kahn due to suspension.

** Milan is tough owning Bayern and winning 15 of 18 at home in Champions league play.

Trust me, I follow and love Bayern, and they just had a huge emotional game beating Schalke who is in first in the Bundesligia.

Anyways...1'st leg of the aggregate in the quarters? I'll take the home side, especially with no Kahn in net for the Bavarians. Throw in the fact that Paolo Mandini is available for Milan and I think you see an interesting win by the Italians who will bunker in to protect against the quick strike Germans.

ROLL WITH ME ON AC MILAN 1.5 * +110

2 team parley: AC MILAN +110/ AC Milan over 2.5+155...1/2 unit pays a little under 4:1.

    April 3rd:

    Play of the quarterfinals!

    4**** play on Liverpool +130

1* back bet on the draw line +210

Two teams going opposite directions. Even though it's a roadie I can't see Liverpool not winning this game. In fact, Liverpool won't lose this game. They might have a tie, but they won't lose this game. I won't bore you with my logic since there are not that many who follow these kinds of teams. At least from what I've seen. Here's a cut and paste that somewhat sums up how I feel about this game. Liverpool will press and I see a 2H goal to seal a 2-0 result.

    Positive thinker ready for Reds

    from Eindhoven

With PSV Eindhoven struggling to find their early-season form and weakened by injury, Tuesday's UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against Liverpool FC has hardly come at an opportune moment.

    'We are ready'

Yet Jason Culina, the Dutch title-holders' Australian international, remains defiant. "We are looking forward to switching our attention to the Champions League and forgetting about the domestic situation for the moment. We are ready.

    Enough in reserve

"It has been a long season," added the left-sided midfielder, whose team are without a win in three league games with two draws sandwiching a 5-1 home loss to AFC Ajax. "But then you expect to play a lot of games if you're a top team. Obviously we have injuries to two important players but I think we have enough quality in the squad to cope." Culina himself has only just recovered from abdominal muscle problems and a niggling groin injury which prevented him taking part in Australia's recent friendly against China.

    Mr Effective

The 26-year-old's inclusion in the starting lineup against the 2005 UEFA Champions League winners would represent his seventh appearance of this European campaign. Although far from a prolific scorer - his only Eredivisie goal coming against Sparta Rotterdam in February - his pace and workrate make him an effective link between defence and attack for the club he joined from FC Twente last season. Earlier in his career, Culina had had a less productive spell with Ajax, who loaned him to KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen and De Graafschap.

    Job to do

Liverpool's 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal FC on Saturday might suggest the Premiership side are better equipped to deal with PSV than were Arsène Wenger's men, who lost 2-1 on aggregate to the Eredivisie leaders in the last round. Yet even the sight of Peter Crouch scoring a hat-trick did not faze the Australian. "Liverpool are a great team and have many good players," he said. "But regardless of who is playing, we'll just have to deal with it. We also have plenty of people capable of doing the job."

    Forward thinker

Rafael Benítez's team took four points off Ronald Koeman's in the group stage this term – a 0-0 draw in Eindhoven preceding a 2-0 home win at Anfield – but according to former Sydney United FC prodigy Culina, that has little bearing on the outcome of the impending head-to-head. "We took a few things out of those two games. Now it's different, these are the quarter-finals. We know what we have to do and we fully intend to do it."

not much time for me to study today!! However, this guy OLD TRAFFORD is good!

Wagering on the Champions League has been very profitable this season and hopefully it continues into the Quarter finals. Some real tight lines they have put out especially in totals, no 2.5 lines at all. I expect some real tight games in this round as teams that are at home in the first leg will be looking not to give away that crucial away goal. Some teams have big League games this week so I expect them to tread carefully and to save their big name stars.

    Tuesday April 3rd

    Bayern Munich at AC MIlan

AC Milan can count themselves very fortunate to be in this stage of the competiton. In their first round knockout match against Celtic at The San Siro the Glasgow side were denied not one but two clear penalty kicks. The first one being so blatant a handball on Captain Poalo Maldini that you wonder how the official managed to miss it or just choose to ignore it. Whether Celtic would have scored on those deceisions no one will know but they surely should have got at least one of them on the night. Only a wonder goal by Kaka in extra time spared them possible penalty kicks with Celtic. For a team that really shouldn't be in this seasons champions League because of their match fixing scandal in the Serie A, maybe Milan in a bizarre way are a team of destiny. Bayer Munich knocked out Real Madrid with Roy Maakay scoring the fastest goal in Champions League history after only ten seconds. The German Champions will be without midfielder Mark Van Bommel who picked up a red card in the match against Real which will be a blow to them. I think this matchup will be decided in the second leg in Munich. Play (Bayern Munich pk & +0.5)

    Liverpool at PSV Eindhoven

Both sides are familiar with each other as they were paired in the same group during the group stages. Liverpool took four out of the six points from the Dutch outfit with a 0-0 draw in Eindhoven and a 2-0 win in Liverpool. PSV eliminated Arsenal mostly due to the Arsenal sides wastefullnes with scoring opportunities which has been the theme of their season. PSV will be without their best defender Alex who scored the deceisive away goal against Arsenal. He is out for the rest of the season. Liverpool suprised most pundits and soccer fans by eliminating defending Champions Barcelona on the away goals rule. Liverpool won the Cup two seasons ago and could make a return trip if they get by the Dutch Champions. I don't think this game will have many goals in it like the group stage game but PSV have showed recently that Alex is a big part of the defence and its showed as they got thrashed at home by Ajax of Amsterdam by 5 goals if i'm correct. Liverpool have been here before and have a great coach when it comes to Cup knockout games. No doubt in my mind that they will take care of PSV and knock them out. PSV were lucky when Arsenal came to Eindhoven as they were totally outplayed but Arsenal didn't convert. I don't think they will be as fortunate this time. Wednesday April 4th

    Manchester United at Roma

I said previously that Roma are a team that is flying under the radar in this years competiton. They haven't been getting much attention but there rather easy elimination of favorites Lyon took care of that. They have in my opinion Europes most valuable player this season in Captain Francesco Totti. As Totti goes so does Roma. When he is on form and up for the match they are real hard to beat. When he gets distracted and starts to complain to the official than Roma are vulnerable. Roma are pretty strong all over the pitch and have three World Cup winners in their lineup. They possibly could be this seasons darkhorse. Man United eliminated Lille which was expected with the first game being rather controversial from the French side of view. United will be without Henrik Larsson who has returned to Sweden after his loan spell ended. I think this game will be really tight in the first leg and I wouldn't be suprised if it ended in a draw. I think it's going to be a chess match with Roma being careful not to give away that road goal. My gut insticts and past experience tells me that this game is either going to end up 0-0 or 1-0. Two goals will give the wager a push but I cannot see it reaching three goals. I also think that Roma will win this game before the return in Manchester. Roma are firing on all cylinders and won't be caught making the same mental mistakes that did in Lille. Play (Roma pk & under 2)

    Valencia at Chelsea

The way Valencia played against Inter Milan over both legs it wouldn't suprise me if they take out Chelsea. The return match being in Spain is a big advantage as they are so strong at The Mestalla. Valencias win over Inter was overshadowed by the mass brawl after they eliminated the Italian side on away goals. Inter Milan really should have taken care of the Spaniards as they were all over them in the first half of the first game in Italy. It easily could have been 4 or 5 goals for Inter in that game. Valencia are a very strong team with a strike partnership in David Villa and Fernando Morientes which will punish any Chelsea mistakes if they occur. Chelsea can thank the Porto keeper for them being here. A real bonehead mistake let Chelsea back into the game when his side was up 1-0 on the English Champions and in control. That silly blunder gave Chelsea the momentum to score a second and win the match 2-1 knocking out Porto. I don't think they will get favors like that from Valencia keeper Canazeres. This matchup is a coinflip on the side and on the total. It could be a shootout or a cagey match. Chelsea though since Jose Mourinho took over have only lost once at home and that was to Barcelona when they were down to ten men. Chelsea I don't think will lose this game. They either draw or win by just one goal. This matchup will be decided at Valencia for the return leg. Play (Chelsea -0.5)
