NBA Picks for Wed, March 21

Appreciate the props guys, but damn, every time I get them, I shit the bed. Have to step it up today!

I must say I was very surprised by the way the Bulls played last night, especially in the fourth quarter, getting blown away by a very poor road team this year on a long road trip.

And now my comments about Gilbert Arenas: cocky, arrogant, overrated, overhyped; he is not even one of the top fifteen players in this league, maybe not even top twenty; as a matter of fact, I could probably name twenty-five other players that I'd rather have on my team. He shoots jumper after jumper after jumper. And when he's cold, like he was last night, he stinks. I have some advice for Gil, shut your trap and play ball. I actually found out a little something for myself last night as I watched the Wizards closely. They have no chance in the playoffs. They don't drive the ball to the hoop. They just continue to shoot long jumpers, and when they don't fall, the Wizards stink. Their defense is awful. Nobody collapses underneath. Their double teams are almost nonexistent. They can't stop anyone off the dribble. I believe the Blazers drove the ball right to the hoop four times in the final two minutes. The Wizards allow an Eastern Conference leading 104.6 points per game (that is pitiful; only Golden State and Memphis are worse). {yeah, the Suns allow 103.1 per game, but they also score 110.2 per game} And I'm sure you're all wondering why I'm going on and on about this..... because the Wizards are really not that good. (BET AGAINST THEM IN THE FIRST ROUND PLAYOFF SERIES). They are probably going to get the Bulls or the Heat, and most likely the Heat. Man, I hope the Wizards get home court because the odds will be better.

And now for the big play:

CLEVELAND +3 (PUNCHOUT) (I've been waiting for this rematch for a few weeks now; last night was a fluke for the Cavs; lack of focus on the defensive end against an inferior team, especially in the fourth quarter, which can be easy to do when you're hot ; the streaking Cavs are 15-3-1 ATS & 14-5 SU over thier last 19 games; they are 12-1 SU & 11-2 ATS at home against Western Conference foes; Cleveland is 3-1 SU & ATS when needing revenge against a West. Conf. foe ; this is only their third time as a home dog this year , and that is beacuse they are a very good home team; they boast the league's fourth best home record at 26-8 ; as we all know, Dallas has been great all year, minus the first four games, but they are in a minor ATS slump ; the Mavs are 2-1 SU & ATS in the second of back-to-back games, but 0-1 SU & ATS after a win in the second of back-to-backs; and this all leads me to a 3 or 4 point win by the Cavs)

GL! I'm done for the night. Off to sleep. Falling asleep as I finish my novel here.
