NCAA Picks for Thursday, March 8th
Figured I'd start tomorrow's thread today as I probably won't post tomorrow:
FSU/Clemson over 135
that's all I got really, looking @ Nova +5 and the under there. They played GTown tough this year and both games went well under the#.
Any thoughts on this one BDogg?
Nice writeup on the tourney by the way, thanks!

2-2 on BE Tourney plays on wednesday, but good for 2.75 units. Thursday of the BE Tourney is one of the more exciting days on the NY sports scene, and I'll be at the Garden to be a part of it.
Here are my initial thoughts:
Nova vs. Gtown
Classic matchup of old school BE teams. Nova showed today that they are a force to be reckon with. Scottie Reynolds played a littel erratically, but also put up 29 points. Meanwhile Sumpter was a beast. I'm looking for more of the same against Georgetown. Spread looks like it will open at 5.5, in which case I'm leaning toward taking Nova. I think they could win this game outright.
Syracuse vs. Notre Dame
Tough for me to cap this one since I went to ND and would love to see them make a run in the BE (for once!!). But I'm just not sure it's giong to happen. First of all, as I pointed out yesterday, I think they had a weak BE schedule and are fortunate to have gotten the 4 seed. They went into the carrier dome and opened up a 19 point haltime lead after hitting 10 3s in the first half alone. Well, they wound up winning by 12 and as usual, gave up their fare share of points (91). While the Over would look tempting at around 150, I like Syracuse here getting a point. This kills me to write but I don't think ND can hang with them a second time around. Ideally, I would have loved for the spread to be +5 and have ND win but not cover, but oh well. Will do some more research in the morning but this might be my highest play of the day. Nichols will just be too much.
Don't have time to look into the night games and might lay off them completely since I'll be wasted by then. But at first glance, I think both Louisville and Pitt move on. Of course, if WVU shoots like they did tonight, no one can beat them. But I'll take my chances.
GL to all...

Okay, lines are now up and here are my plays. Tread carefully. I'm up quite a bit on the week and I'm due for a down day. Also, I won't be around a computer to play any halftime lines to hedge any of the action.
Afternoon session:
Nova +5 (bought the hook) - This is my least favorite game of the day. Basically, I'm hoping Sumpter can continue his monstrous run and that Nardi can finally pick up some slack. He was shut down the last time they played Gtown. I started to wane a little on this play but will stick with my original gut. Nova +5 for 1.5 units
Syracuse +2.5 (bought the hook as well.) - Discussed this one above. ND has notoriously underperformed in the BE tourney and at the Garden in general (see loss to SJU earlier this year). I would love to see them win by a point (or 2). But i have to take the points here as Syracuse is looking for revenge. Rautins is now more in the fold for the Orange and could be the difference maker. If ND isn't hitting the 3-ball, they don't have a chance. Syracuse +2.5 for 3 units.
For the night session:
Lville -2.5 for 2 units: WVU's performance last night was amazing, but Pitino was there to wactch them hoist up 3 after 3. Look for the bigs for Louisville to establish their presence. I see Lville winning by 7-10 here.
Pitt -5 for 2 units: Marquette was lucky to cover against SJU last night and they are really banged up. Pitt is trying to play its way to a 3 or a 2 seed with a nice run in the BE Tourney. I look for them to get the job done tonight, and get revenge for the loss over the weekend. Possibility Pitt might dominate here and even win by DD.
GL to all.

well fellas, nova got smoke in the 1H. 2h line is Nova -2. Might be a sucker bet but i fyou have some extra dough, I am playing it for 3.5 units. I think nova can manage a comeback to single digits and then possibly lose by 12-15.
