The Best piece of advice I can give...
[size=24]PICK WINNERS$$$$$$
Just kiddin, I'll throw my research notes out and what I look at when selecting games for consideration if ya want.
1.) Look at the lines the night before.
2.) Look at the lines when you wake up.
3.) Identify 3-6 games to look at.
4.) Go to Vegasinsider and check trends using their matchup feature and then click analysis.
5.) Read the local paper on the teams involved.
6.) Check for injuries
7.) Check coaching record against opponent.
8.) See if "revenge" is involved or if a team dominates a series ATS. (As in the Jayhawks winning 35 out of the last 36 against K State)
9.) Check betting %
10.) Read any articles involved on the game.
11.) Narrow the list down to 1-3 plays for hoops.
12.) Use my gut intuition of following the same teams for over 15 years. YOU CAN NOT HANDICAP THE ENTIRE NCAA LANDSCAPE!!!
12 is the most important. I've met many people who think they can throw down on any game in the country and know what they are talking about. You think my East coast ass knows whether or not Cal State Irvine is playing well or the coach has the lead player in the doghouse? Knowledge is power and if someone just looks at a game and says...I LOVE "Insert favorite team here" to cover then they aren't getting it done and won't win consistently. Play what you know..if you want to play outside of what you know and follow, then research the hell out of it and see what the pub is doing.
I do this for each game I look at and when I say I didn't look at it I mean it.
That's all I got.
IF ALL ELSE FAILS, Throw up a piece of paper with the two teams on your dartboard, close your eyes and let fly. Closest to the team is the play$$$$
I actually know a dude who went 62% ATS in football doing this last year. He called his plays....16grams...(as in the weight of his tips.)
peace and good luck.
