NCAA Picks for Sat, Feb. 17
Always too many games for me on Sat. to get caught up in, but one game stands out to me (and probably b/c it's usually a big game between two usual powerhouses):

Mo valley: 48-21 ATS (Lost on Mo State)
Big XII: 26-19-1 ATS
Out of Conference 18-12ATS Big XII GOW: 3-2ATS
Mo Valley GOW: 6-0 ATS
Out of Conference GOW: 1-0 ATS
MO VALLEY GOM: 3-2 ATS
Big XII GOM:1-1 ATS
Out of Conference GOM: 1-0 ATS
Guys, have absolutely smoked hoops this year but having a bad week this week. I'm backing down my GOY play to a GOM on TeamFLA for the simple reason that I'm having a bad week. But I am not stopping and I've waited for the bracket busters for 3 weeks.
I'm down 15 units this week and want to keep my streak alive with my local on not paying out.
So..to do that, I have to get to -5 units to carry..but we're gonna go for it and see if we can set up a Sunday that pays out.
I NEVER, and I mean NEVER advocate you play as many as I'm planning on playing today. But I really like 5 games today and I will pickride my boys from FLA...so here's my card, play along if you like. You can tell by my unit amounts which ones are my best bet...But I will show a positive unit total for today or shut it down until Tuesday to re charge. I refuse to give a huge total back after slammin my man for the season.
Props by the way..I still had a decent night:
BP..thanks for Cornell
Sophomores..thanks for upholding the trend of kicking the rookie's ass in the rook/soph game.
Albany..thanks for showing up and gettin me an over.
Let's roll on the bracketbusters and XII:
Plays are in no order:
Play 1: Missouri Valley Bracketbuster:
ROLL WITH ME ON NORTHERN IOWA +9 1/2 (#655) against Nevada today. Too many points for a UNI team that has a stellar non conference ATS and plays slow ball. Nevada is a very good team, but Jacobsen and the boys from Iowa will give them all they can handle tonight. I expect a 3-5 point win for Nevada.
ROLL WITH ME ON NORTHERN IOWA +9 1/2)
(3 units for PC)
Play 2: Missouri Valley Bracketbuster:
ROLL WITH ME ON BRADLEY +5 1/2 @ VCU (#677) tonight. The Braves are also another of the ATS non conference beasts. They should have beaten the Illini outright instead of covering and have looked wonderful. They are a powerhouse at home and play well in games where the two opponents are not familiar with each other. They play a run and gun style that's predicated on secondary breaks. From what I've seen and read of VCU..we're gonna see a clash of contrasts. I think again the Valley has a chance for a SU win as a dog in the bracketbusters.
ROLL WITH ME ON BRADLEY + 5 1/2
(4 units for PC)
Play 3: Out of Conference Bracketbuster:
I'm 2-0 ATS on Austin Peay and I will play them yet again today. Getting 15 1/2 points is a gift. Maybe I'm missing something, but this team will only lose by 15 or more in the 1st round of the dance as a 14 seed. I can't see the Zips being 16 points better.
ROLL WITH ME ON AUSTIN PEAY +15 1/2
(2 units for PC..funny line, I'll play conservative)
Play 4: Big XII
Roll with me on Kansas to put the wood to Nebraska at the Phog. I'll lay the 16 and hope that KU's defense is as good as it was when they played in Lincoln and limited the Huskers to 29% shooting. KU is clickin right now and I can't see a falling Huskers team keeping it close today in Lawrence.
ROLL WITH ME ON KANSAS -16 @ home against Nebraska.
(3 units for PC)
Play 5: Mo valley Brackebuster and GOM:
Will be released by BP...it's an afternoon game. My best bet of the day.
ROLL WITH MY TEAM FLA GOM IN BRACKETBUSTERS:
7 units for PC
My 4 team parley:
Bradley +5 1/2, N. Iowa +9 1/2, Kansas -16, Mo Valley GOM
1 unit to win 11.7 units.
Good luck players..I will be playing a total of 7 games so far on the board when I pickride BP and JT (3 units apiece).
If I'm up going into the Creighton Drexel game I will post a play on that game. I really like it but need to see how my money falls before we lay big on that one.
BP..you know myplay...no write up..just post it as a Mo Valley GOM please. Good luck players.

Nothing much I like in the A-10 (X by 24.5 over UR, damn), but a small ML parlay on
URI/GW, pays 1:1
In the bracketbusters, I like two Patriot Overs, for the same reason (which I hope is correct):
Towson/Bucknell Over 124.5
Holy Cross/Hofstra Over 126.5
Nobody scores in the PL and nobody gives up any points either. The top two scoring teams in PL games are HC (65) and Bucknell (64). You could look at this as bad offense, but I’m going the other way and saying this is due to styles of play (and decent defense). Lafayette gives up 70ppg, none of the other 7 teams gives up over 64ppg (maybe UR should switch leagues..actually, they almost did go to the PL).
Versus LAF, Bucknell scored 76 (H) and 67 (A). I don’t see why they can’t score at least in the upper 60’s at home. Towson is 16-5 ATS L 21 road and 10-2 ATS L12 overall, so if you expect them to cover or stay close to the spread and Bucknell hits in upper 60’s, it should go over (ie 68-61).
Versus LAF, HC scored 74 (H) and 84 (A). 3 Guards from Hofstra won’t be like anything in the PL and Hofstra avg 75+ at home. Both teams over 70% FTs if close game. Think each team can hit mid 60’s.
Toledo (+2)
Both teams killing it ATS: ODU 9 in a row, Toledo 10 of last 12. I’m gonna go with the unbeaten home team getting points. Four good teams in CAA (incl ODU), on road: L12 at Hofstra, W10 at Drexel, L5 at VCU (also won in OT at decent GM team). Rest of CAA blows. They did win SU at Gtown earlier, but L17 at VT and L13 at Marist in other road games. Looking forward to this game.
Looking at an Ivy Total, but nothing from my book yet.
GL and enjoy the Bracketbusters.
A-10: 20-15-2
Other: 10-10-1

UVA/STL/NMSU ML parlay (110:100)
and
Columbia/Princeton Over 100
I copied the below from 1/12 post. Score of that game was C 64-56. Seven in a row in this series have now gone Over.
I think now that Princeton gets into league play where teams are familiar with their style, they’ll start giving up a few more points. Columbia seems to have faired pretty well against it in the past few years. Last year, Columbia won 65-64 at home and lost 64-68 on the road. Checking those boxscores, 4 of the 5 starters are back for the Columbia team that succeeded against that style. Games totaled 129 and 132, so we’re getting 25+ compared to the current total. I guess when you give up 28 points in the prior game though, you’re gonna see a low total.
In the last six meetings, neither team has scored fewer than 52 points.
C 65-64 = 129
P 68-64 = 132
P 68-59 = 127
P 63-53 = 116
P 75-52 = 127
P 78-71 = 149

Hoyas have covered 14 out of 15. Nova's beat em twice in a row. I like Hibbert and Green to show up and keep Gtown rolling.
