First, props to Team PA...a nice 3-0 yesterday...
...and thanks to PC for the Kansas Over...boy, with about 4 minutes to
go in that game I thought no problem, but then neither team could make a
basket and then Kansas started sitting on the ball...
on to my two plays for today...
Michigan State at Illinois
Michigan State/Illinois Under 121
Michigan State (17-5, 11-6 ATS, 8-3 ATS@home, 3-3 ATS Away)
Illinois (15-8, 4-14 ATS, 3-9 ATS@home, 1-5 ATS Away)
Michigan State is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games
Illinois is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games at home
Illinois has done well in the past against MSU
(7-2 ATS in their last 9 games at home against MSU),
but this is not the same Illinois team of recent years...
The total has gone Under in 5 of MSU's last 7 games
The total has gone Under in 4 of MSU's last 6 road games
The total has gone Under in 5 of MSU's last 7 games against Illinois
The total has gone Under in 5 of MSU's last 5 games at Illinois
Michigan State is coming off a heart wrenching loss at Ohio State on Saturday
and Illinois is coming off an ugly loss at Purdue on Saturday. This is about 2 teams
going in different directions. MSU is starting to play very good basketball as coach Izzo
is getting this team to gel in time for the tourney and Illinois is still looking for
an identity, healthy players, and some offense.
Good Luck on All of your Plays!

Hilly: G-Tech -5
Lets first look at common opponents:
GT -
@NOCAR L 61-77
DUKE W 74-63
FSU W 88-80
Wake -
NOCAR L 60-88
@DUKE L 40-62
@FSU L 66-74
Yellow Jackets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite
Demon Deacons are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
I am on GT, they come back after the disaster on Saturday and get back to work with a big conferance win.
Southern: Maryland +3
First off, well see an large public % backing the Seminoles tonight. Currently around 75% on the home team.
Second, Florida State does this every season. Theyll start off the year with a few big wins surprising everyone (Fla and Va Tech this season). They always seems to fade mid year and finish mid to bottom of the conference. This years FSU team is, well, just a nice team. I think Marylands starting 5 (6'5, 6'5, 6'5, 6'8, 6'9) all good sized and all athletic, can match up very well with the the Noles. Gist and Imbekwe will keep Thorton in check.
Moneybags: No Play Yet Today

here is some more info on the MSU/Illinois game...
from the local Champaign, Illinois Newpaper...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The home crowd has been a factor in the past, most recently against Indiana. If the Orange Krush can't help in the injury department, they could at least serve to uplift lagging spirits.
Jamar Smith needs a hug. His slump (he's 2 for 33 on three-pointers) has reached the stage where coach Bruce Weber conceded: "To be honest, Jamar is mentally whipped. He got a wide-open jumper (at Purdue), squared his feet and made it. But the next two were more difficult and he missed, and lost his confidence again."
And Purdue's late-game decision to disregard Chester Frazier and Calvin Brock on the perimeter has those players in a quandary. To shoot or not to shoot, that is the question.
"Defenders have been going behind the ball screen on Chester all season," Weber said. "In this game, they dropped off entirely and it threw him for a loop. It's hard to deal with mentally."
Will Tom Izzo do more of the same tonight?
"A lot of teams cheat to help on Shaun (Pruitt)," Weber said. "I would expect them to shade off Chester. But to change that drastically on such short notice is not easy. I know our kids could not do it."
Michigan State, 4-3 in the Big 10, with two of those losses coming by two points, appears to be picking up steam and leaves Illinois to play five of the last eight at home.
Neitzel has emerged as an All-Big Ten guard, and 6-foot-7 Raymar Morgan has rebounded from injury to establish himself as one of the league's top five freshmen.
"Neitzel is a great go-to guy," Weber said. "Michigan State's screening is tremendous, their kids understand their roles, and they work to get Neitzel open."
So Michigan State arrives in a positive mood ... dead opposite of Illinois. In the last five games the Spartans have enjoyed three 20-plus romps, outscored Illinois 40-23 in the second half and nearly caught Ohio State by outpointing the Buckeyes 41-23 after the break.

After getting crushed last night at home against the Rangers, I see a dejected Bruins traveling to Buffalo and getting mopped up on the Ice for a second night in a row!

Roll with me on Northern Iowa -3 1/2 @ home against Wichita State. Takis posted on Wichita State and believe me, there are plenty of reasons to back Wichita State. But I just can't do it tonight. Let's start with a look at previous matchups... Northern Iowa owns Wichita State and we won on the Panthers as 7 point dogs who won outright in their trip to Wichita this year. The Northern Iowa Panthers are actually dominating this series of late rolling to 6 wins in the last 7 played between the two. ( 6-1 SU against WSU, 6-1 ATS against WSU.) More stats...the Panthers last two victories over the Shockers were by 4 on the road and by 12 at home. In the last 4 in the series the Panthers have won all 4. Let's not forget that 80% of the players who start the game will have played the last 4 in the series.I've been to a game at Northern Iowa. The Pantherdome is no joke when it's filled up and has a bunch of farm students that go nuts when the boys bear down and play defense. I'm a big fan of the Shockers, but let's also remember that they are 5-6 SU on the road and really haven't done jack since winning at Cuse and Baton Rouge. Meanwhile, Northern Iowa has been playing to the level of their competition and sport a gaudy 11-1 record SU at home. I just can't see the Shockers pulling this one out. They need the victory desperately. However, they will have to wait until February to impress the NCAA pickers, I see the panthers winning by 8 or more. How many times does the name "NORTHERN IOWA" scare away the bettors? we've been hitten all year on these guys in big games (PC wins @ Creighton, @ WSU, @ Iowa State, Iowa)
ROLL WITH ME ON NORTHERN IOWA -3 1/2 @ home against Wichita State..GL takis..at least if I lose your hitten$$$

UNLV +2
See Below
BP
UNLV Runnin Rebels +2
UNLV is 2-0 this year as a 2 pt dog & are 6-1 ATS in away games against teams that are .500 or better! UNLV is also 8-1 ATS on the year in away games! This should be a very good game, but I look for UNLV to win this one SU. Good Luck! (Big BP Play also posted)

3 bench players have quit the team and unlv avg's a healthy 76 points a game. they'll tire big boy jason smith out i believe as well.
unlv is 15-4 ats over the last 19 when a dog of 3 or less on the road. also col. st. is 1-6 when fav. by 3 points or less at home.

Lets throw out an NBA play
Pacers 1st H -4.5
I like Indy to win tonight against the struggling Celts. However, Boston is a solid (4-0) ATS over their last 4 road games. They keep losing but grabbing that back door cover. They are also (0-4) in the 1st H ATS in their last 4 road games. I see the Pacers hitting early and sustaining a nice 8pt lead by half. Good Luck

One more NBA play tonight
Knicks -2 (just got -1.5 with my local)
I'm writing this as I'm wearing my Knicks hoody...... but I think the knicks win by 7 tonight. Knicks are 9-3 ATS over their last 12 (including 5 out of the last 6 at home),while the Lakers are 2-8 ATS over theor last 10. The Lakers will really be missing Kobe tonight who always has big games in the Garden ( I think Walton and Kwame are out as well). Watch as the Knicks have finally learned how to feed Curry the ball and Jamal's spark off the bench will be unmatch by anyone on the Lakers bench. Good Luck
