Guys, I'm wagering a total of 30.00 today on the Australian Open. I like both dogs and the insane payouts are why I'm playing it. Federer is bound to lose in the slam at some point this year and Robredo is a very good opponent who has been rollin through the Aussie Open.
So with that said, take the price of a cheap steak dinner and try to hit with me:
Roll on Tommy Robredro..risking 15.00 to win 300.00
Roll on Mardy Fish............risking 15.00 to win 75.00
I think Fish has a real shot at the upset and I'm just backing robredo because of the insane odds. I have hit on him twice so far this open and he is playing well. Good enough to beat King Roger, probably not. But I'll take these odds all day in the late stages of a Grand Slam.
GL...I fully expect to lose these two but early afternoon action and a gut feeling that Federer is gonna slip makes me play these.

What I am thinking, and Ricky & I have discussed is ...
Have this Daily Picks forum open for anyone to post and so forth .. then have a Private Forum strictly for people that are GP FAM ... where there is NO BS! Only viewed by the GP FAM, not just anyone ... so lets says .... Dollarbillz has a HFA posted, but no "Outsider" can see it to relay it off to any service/other sites/ whatever! Feel me?
The Bottom line is TRUST .. and the private forum for people we can TRUST ...

I would be in as well. Fellas you do not release others posts without the posters permission. Do what you want with your own plays and do not use others plays as your own. We are all here to help each other but a little bit of crap like this could drive people away from this great site.

I don't post much, at best I am a 50/50 handicapper and have the utmost respect for the guys who come in and post thier plays day in and day out. I value the info on this board and over the years it has kept me from losin' my ass!! I came over from the cbssportsline boards when they blew up with the BS and have been here ever since. I would be up for a private forum or whatever gets done.

Jesus guys, how about a reality check? You think anyone in their right mind is gonna "honor" a request to not share a pay pick? Kind of like Phantom's list that is plastered all over the web. Like it or not and speaking from experience, you will NEVER EVER HAVE private plays.
What Billz has going is the same reason I stopped posting for awhile. A certain handicapping expert who hadn't released one Valley play in 2 years had the exact same picks as mine for a week straight before I stopped posting. I could frankly care less. I've worked payservice in the past and I will probably do it again, but the facts are these...this site is free so if you think only the 1100 views a day is it your in fantasy land. Even with Billz going pay the same shit will happen..he'll sell to one person who will then PM them across GP and the gambling world.
Good luck billz..I seriously wish you all the best and know what a solid person you are both inside and outside of gambling.
There are a lot of shady mofos on this site (to borrow Sunday's line from yesterday) but much more good people. However, you guys have to realize that as nice as a "country club" idea is..it has no real chance of working. And it never will. Unless Ricky gets individual IP security (which is way expensive) for each user, you will always encounter the same problems.
Just wanted to throw my two cents in. Good luck, but I effin guarantee that Billz's plays will still be shared around..but at least he's gettin paid for them this time around. I'm out players...

I remember a lot of us on the cbssportsline expert picks a few years back and that started getting sloppy with idiots that do not respect some of the great cappers we had then so Ricky started Gotpicks around 2004. I love this site for advise, stats, peoples ideas about certain games etc.
There are some great oldtimers on this site, it's obvious who you are, and I sure would hate to lose the knowledge and advice and expertise that those cappers bring.

I realize this is further cluttering the board, but for all the Pats backers yesterday, were you also on the Pats last week against San Diego? Cause here's what I"m wondering. Why are you all crying bloody murder that the pats gave the game away yesterday yet you weren't thanking your lucky stars last week when san diego choked that one away?
vegas, i'm really not calling only you out on this. many have posted similar thoughts today. i just am very relieved today because i lost a bunch on the chargers last week and then lucked out with the Indy cover yesterday. that's the world of gambling. i'm sure most people are venting more than anything, but i just want to provide some perspective.
(i realize the pats had an 18 point lead and the most the chargers led by was 7, but san diego was equally in position to win and cover last week).
just my two cents. let's all move on to today...

Got Picks was set up by Ricky as a free site where like-minded individuals could share information,picks etc and in my view should be maintained as such but as it is Ricky's creation he should be the sole decider of it's future
if i post a play on here my only motivation is that it might provide some sort of insight and or help to another poster,if some idiot decides he can earn a few bucks passing on picks well thats for his conscience,if my play wins i don't expect thanks or congrats just as i don't expect abuse or scorn if they lose
come on guys we do alright on here but there always seem to be a few guys looking for an argument or a chance to have a gripe
if you want to post plays by all means do so, to the best of my knowledge thats what GP was set up for but you must realise that by doing so the possibility exists that someone may be profiting more than you are by exploiting your work or instinct
