Picks for Thurs, Dec. 7
NFL:
CLEVELAND +7.5 (damn, I hate going against my boys , but I believe the Steelers are laying too many here; my hometown team should stay within the number)
Man, did that poker tourney suck for me! Lasted all of seven minutes and finished in last place! What a shitty break, losing with trip 6's (king high) to trip 6's (ace high)! Yes, I am the king of bad luck! I forgot who knocked me out, but I learned my lesson with those damn middle suited connectors (man, I hate those cards): RAISE, RAISE, RAISE before the flop!

Jdelt I like ur pick on the Browns. I don't think it matters what qb starts for the browns i believe they cover. They will be running the ball tonight with the snow. The weather will even the matchup on the line. And, Rueban Droughns should have a good game and keep them with in 7.5.

Hi Guys,
A light board tonight, but I’ve booked one game being played close by in Oxford. I like Michigan who will take on the Miami (of Ohio) Redhawks. Millett Hall can be a difficult place to play, but Michigan is clearly the better team. The Wolverines, who are bigger and more athletic, have the advantage in most statistical categories. Even coach Coles said that Michigan will be the most talented team Miami will play all year. Courtney Sims, with help from Brent Petway, will dominate in the paint and on the boards. I’m a little suspect of the line since the Wolverines are only a 2-3 point favorite. I expected it to be at least 6 points. I can’t find a reason why the line is this low. I know the "if it looks to easy" logic, but I'm riding Michigan.
Michigan -2
(8pm)
I will post my MFL pick later and possibly another college basketball game.

Haven't really posted anything on NFL on the board but figure i'll throw in my 2 cents for tonight.
have to go against you guys and take Pittsburgh. Weather might change things but all in all, i like the steelers in this spot. just last sunday people were talking about how there was no way the steelers should be laying >7 points in a game when they were playing tampa bay (-7.5).
to quote JDelt (not calling you out, just reminding people what most of us thought):
"TAMPA BAY +7.5 (-120) (the Steelers just plain old stink this year; they are the defending champs, so the line is stupid each week; why they are laying this many points is ridiculous; the opening line was 9.5, and it was hammered down immediately; definitely the correct move in my opinion)"
Well, Pitt covered the opening number by almost pitching a shutout. But that's not to say they don't have their weaknesses.
This is more a play against Cleveland than anything.
Small play for me on Pittsburgh -7.

Cleveland’s win last week had more to do with what KC didn’t do. One win does not make the Browns a good football team. Before last week Cleveland hadn’t scored an offensive touchdown in 10 consecutive quarters. Anderson had a decent game filling in for Frye, but he’s not mobile and if the Steelers have done one thing well, it’s getting to the opponent’s QB.
For the Steelers, Roethlisberger should be able to complete a lot of short passes and crossing patterns because the Browns have used mostly two-deep zones to protect their weak cornerbacks. Playing in Pittsburg is also a big advantage for the Steelers who are 4-2 at home. If the Steelers can eliminate mistakes (4-0 when they win the turnover battle) and get to Anderson, they win and cover. I think they do both.
Pittsburg -7
