Ricky..this one's for you bro. I told ya in chat I was gonna play the Monmouth home opener.
Here's why I'm on it...Public name recognition will put action on ODU. Monmouth is not a bad team returning some studs. They have 7'2" 300 lb. John Bunch playing on the inside and all conference PG Marques Alston. This team went 19-15 and lost by 13 to a Villanova team in the dance that featured 3 of the best players in Sumpter, Foye, and Nardi. Monmouth returns their core and runs a motion offense that any non conference opponent will have trouble with. The Hawks are the defending conference champs of the Northeast and should represent well tonight. If this team which returns the monster inside Butch and the best PG in the conference in Alston will give ODU everything they can handle both inside and out. This time of year...I'll take the team with the all conference guard over ODU, which lost it's top two scorers Isiah Hunter and Alex Loughton.
I'm tellin ya..the pub is gonna hit ODU hard and Monmouth might win straight up. if they can keep that nova team within 13 last year in the dance they can definetely give ODU some game tonight.

ROLL WITH ME ON Iowa State -17 @ home against Cal Riverside in the Hilton Classic in Ames. For anyone that follows Big XII ball, you know the Hilton in Ames is a classic upset special. Well not tonight. ISU is not bad and returns some serious talent from last year's underachieving team. Underneath a head coach, they will use the home crowd advantage at Hilton (and yes the stands will be packed, there's not much else to do in Ames IA this time of year) and run this team out of the gym.
