Picks for Wed, Nov. 1st
Damn, if I would have been around to see that Kobe wasn't playing, I would have hit the Lakers harder! Oh well, still got something from the Laker W! I'll say it time and time again: Play the injury to the star player in the first missed game (especially when you find out a little before game time when the line jumps a few points or more)! Trust me, you will win in the long run when you do this! Only in rare certain situations do I go against this! On to the next day with some more value plays:
NBA (1-0):
CHICAGO +2.5 (they are really good; can't wait to see this team really gel; look out when they do; Orlando should be able to grab a playoff spot this year, but I think the Bulls will be too much in this one, despite the back-to-back road games)
NEW JERSEY -6 (I don't know what the Raptors are doing, but I know one thing for sure: they will struggle again this year; New Jersey should be better than last year if they stay healthy)
DETROIT -7 (they still have the nucleus and added Dale Davis to help out in the middle; they aren't quite done yet; the Bucks just might take a step back this year; they are very young)
SACRAMENTO +5 (with Artest in the lineup for a full season, the Kings should be in the playoff hunt all year long; man, I feel bad for Garnett; he needs some more talent around him to make another run at the title)
MEMPHIS -5 (Isiah Thomas is absolutely horrible; let's see how long it takes for the oddsmakers to adjust the lines for Knicks games; Memphis made some moves in the offseason and will be without Gasol for awhile, but I'm not worried about this game: they are the playing the Knicks)
If anyone cares to see my NBA plays, I'll be posting them in the NBA forum that PC mentioned yesterday until football is over!
GL! BTW, I am a high roller and made a whole 50 bucks on the Lakers last night!
