Clemson/WF Over 43.5

My friend (Clemson grad) is always bitching when they have to play WF, saying that game always scares him because Clemson doesn’t know how to defend the wishbone. After telling him to stop being a woman, I looked at some numbers.

Last four meetings have gone like this:

2005 at WF: WF 31-27 (58 points) went OVER 47

2004 at C: C 37-30 (27-27 before OT, 54 points in regulation) went OVER 52.5

2003 at WF: WF 45-17 (62 points) went OVER 49.5

2002 at C: C 31-23 (54 points) went OVER 52.5

Lowest total = 54. Avg total (not incl OT) = 57.

Games in Winston-Salem, WF has averaged 38 ppg. Overall, they have averaged 31.5 ppg last four years, with fewest points scored being 23.

On the road, Clemson has given up 20 at FSU and 24 (before OT) at BC. Home games they’ve given up total of 13 points in 3 games vs piss. Offensively, Clemson ranks 2nd in the country in scoring with 43.4 ppg.

Good news/bad news regarding Clemson’s next opponent: Good news is its Temple, so no need to worry about looking ahead; Bad news is that it’s on Thursday, so not sure if they’ll rest anyone this game (if they can afford to).

I'm holding off right now due to the weather. This total was 47.5 last night and is now down to 43.5 (again, fewest combined points last 4 mtgs was 54 AND WF never scored fewer than 23 AND Clemson is 2nd in the country in scoring). Gonna be raining all day tomorrow, up until and through the noon kickoff.

I'll decide in the morning if I'll play and how much, but wanted to get the info out there.
