Props to the Suns, but they had to win early in this series to have any chance (and no, I will never give this team any respect, no matter how many games or series they win; that doesn't mean I won't play them on any particular night, though). What pisses me off, though, is the fact that I didn't play Miami the other night, and I lose some cash instead of losing a little juice with the Game 1's. Anyway, we move forward:

    Play:

DETROIT -6.5 (the Pistons will bounce back in a big way; I'm confident of that; I also like the fact that 65% of pub. is on the Heat)

    ML Play:

DETROIT -320 (they won't lose two at home to start this series)

    Playoff Record: 22-19

    Punchouts: 6-3

    Opinions: 19-13

    ML Plays: 18-8 (+11.6 Units)

Well i guess JD all last night means is that the Mavs-Suns series is gauranteed to go 5 games then!

    Its gonna be fun....

    Here's a nice stat I saw yesterday:

In Conf finals, winners of game 1 have gone on to win the series 29 times outta 32...

Now the optimist in me says thats a 90% stat my boys are riding, the pessimist says more likely, most of them game 1 winners were probably home teams with home court advantage anyways...

I am very tempted to take miami evens for the series by the way... of course they will probably lose tonight so wouldnt be getting great value, but then pistons have been shocking shocking shocking and this could be the year they get their ass handed to them much the way they did to lakers in 04... food for thought...

    Dear Self,

Your a moron!! Found a sucker line (HOU/WAS), and talked yourself out of playing it. You did however hedge it with Suns +7 when you finally pulled your head out of your ass.

    3-1 Posted plays yesterday

    Today's plays:

    Philly -152

    Seattle -150

    Small parlay of the two

HOU/WAS - Today is again the wrong side favorite. I'm not touching it.

OAK/TEX - I feel this is a sucker line also, OAK has the slight edge. Depending on how early games work out, I may play small on OAK +170(ish)

    GL TO ALL!!!

    Thanks for the props Takis.

    2-0 NBA ATS this week

    2-2 MLB ATS this week

    2-2 SOCCER ATS this week.

    Early MLB...

    Roll with me on Houston Astros/Washington Nationals under 8 1 /2 -115.

    Pettite/Armas Jr. Must go

Jdelt, your hatred of the Suns is gonna cost you some cash. That team is resilient and I don't see any way Dallas "Outruns" them or is "deeper".

And your gonna hate me but I'm about 70% sure I'm gonna take the Heat tonight...I'll be back to post that game's play for me later.

    Good luck all, let's roll$$$

Great week for me so far. .havent had a loser yet!

FYI . .hammer the Suns line now at +7.5 before it drops. (GOW for me)Dallas will not cover this number!!! If they win it will be by less than 4-6

    Todays plays:

    KC +200 (bastista)

I know they havent won a game since Jesus was a baby . .but they are due and Det is resting Pudge plus Maroth is only 9-8 this year. Not really an ace on the mound. The Under in this one is worth looking at as well.

    Parley:

    Rangers (Millwood)/Red Sox (Beckett)

GL. .and as a good friend of mine would say, "BAAAAaaaAaaaaAaaaaAAA"

4 straight losers to start the season, so I guess I'm due for a couple wins (and I'll try again against the defending champs):

    SAN ANTONIO Pick

    HOUSTON +6.5

    And PC & TQ,

I have great respect for both of you guys, no matter what happens with the Suns (the battle is actually kind of fun)! Yes, I do hate the Suns b/c, in my opinion (and we all have them), they don't play real NBA basketball! I would never cost myself too much b/c of my hatred, though! The same goes with my boys (the Steelers); I don't get too caught up with my team and playing on them all the time b/c your heart can cost you a lot of cash! Anyway, let the fun continue and keep posting the winners!

    Philly - Winner

And as posted - HOU/WAS was a wrong side favorite in the last two games of their series. Wish I had the guts to pull the trigger, I just didn't want to get caught up in a Home Underdog Chase.

    GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

    2-0 ATS in NBA

    2-3 ATS in MLB

    2-2 ATS in Soccer

Tonight in NBA..roll with me on the under 185 in Detroit/Miami. If Detroit wants this game, they will D up on Shaq and put Teyshawn all over DWade. I'm excited to watch the Wade/Teyshawn matchup. NFL winnings hit it on the head with the coaching..Flip Saunders is a proven failure at the helm..look at the talent he had in Minny and he couldn't even win a series. He was gift wrapped this team and now it's crunch time. I'll take Riley's experience over him and advocate playing Miami as well. But my play is on the under as I think Detroit D's up at the Palace tonight.

GOOD LUCK ALL AND SLAM THE MAN

    Detroit/Miami under 185 for me.

House panel approves Internet gambling ban

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The U.S. House Judiciary Committee approved legislation on Thursday aimed at banning Internet gambling, an estimated $12 billion industry.

The measure would update and expand existing law to cover all forms of interstate gambling in the United States and would bar a gambling business from accepting payment in the form of credit cards, checks, wire and Internet transfers.

It would also prohibit gambling on an estimated 2,300 Internet gambling sites, many run by offshore companies, and also require banks to block gambling transactions by customers, which the industry has argued would be difficult to identify.

Despite the committee's approval, 25-11, it remains unclear whether the legislation will reach floor votes in the House and Senate this year. Congress has a relatively few work days left in 2006 because of the November congressional elections.

"The legislation is badly needed because ... the amount of money going to these illegal unregulated offshore enterprises has quadrupled" in the past few years, said Rep. Bob Goodlatte (news, bio, voting record), the author of the legislation and a Virginia Republican.

Under U.S. law, interstate gambling over telephone wires is already illegal and other gambling is banned unless regulated by the states.

"In the United States, gambling is essentially illegal unless regulated by the states. This is a measure to work through that to make sure that the states are indeed protected in their right to continue to regulate gambling," Goodlatte said.

Some Democrats objected to the measure. They said it would do little to prevent underage gambling and it unfairly placed a regulatory burden on local banks to comply.

"I believe there are more effective Internet gambling regulatory approaches," said Virginia Democrat Bobby Scott.

The poker industry, which has exploded in recent years, argued that the bill unfairly targets its game while legalizing online betting for horse racing, Internet lotteries and certain fantasy sports.

"If games of chance are given a free pass in this bill, it makes no sense that a skill game like poker should be banned. Congress should not be picking online winners and losers," said Poker Players Alliance president Michael Bolcerek.

...the nice thing is that dreaded bill is still in it's initial stages with the judiciary committee. Being a gambling man, I'll bet our lobbyists kill that mofo on the house floor next year..if not....TIME TO CASH IN BETCRIS$$$$$

Good luck with the Sox this year...it's gonna be another heart wrenching season that goes down to the wire in my opinion. And Takis's Jays look like they might have some staying power in the East.

    Peace....

    ok folks,

usually in the playoffs i am of the opinion that the games swing from one game to the next, but with sheed n rip not 100%, i couldnt go with heat...

then with all the heat role players picking up their fg % over the past few games, and the opposite being the case for detroit, i gotta go with miami to cover 7 (bought 0.5pt)

I was sorely sorely tempted to take the heat to win the series off evens money, but i think that maybe the pistons find a way to win tonight, and hopefully by 6 or less, and i would then get possibly +150 on the heat for the series tomorrow... then will hammer it...

PC I too like the under, but think it might drift close (that 1st quarter game 1 really scared the pants off me!)

JD, how can you not like open floor basketball? I love the spurs, but even they like to play the fast break at times! nash is a breath of fresh air in a league gone stale with suffocating Defence... defence has its place and thats in the 4th quarter!

    peace out
