Picks for Thursday Mar. 25'th
Wanted to get these in early as I think the lines will move again (as they did with Kentucky/UAB over). I have already "booked" these plays for tomorrow..wish you all the best.
Wake Forest vs. St. Joe's
Will post some trends first:
St. Joe's 3-7 ATS in last 10 82-63 Liberty 70-65 T Tech
St. Joe's 0-2 ATS in first two rounds of tourney
Wake 4-6 ATS in last 10
Wake0-2 ATS in first two rounds (79-78 VCU, 84-80 Manhattan)
Guys, here's what I see happening in this game.
Both teams are capable of scoring high numbers as evidenced by their totals in the first round of the dance. Both teams have guard play that can shoot, handle the rock, and play up tempo. Wake has the better depth, Joe's the better backcourt in Nelson and West. I like St. Joe's to take a lead and then fight like hell to keep it against a surging, RPI tough and ACC savvy Wake Forest team. Martelli and the boys have been fighting for respect all year. This game finally shows whether St. Joe's is for real. I'll take the following...

Bama/Cuse
Real easy for me here and the least solid of my plays. Bama has played two tough teams in SIU and Stanford that can really play intense D. Finally Bama gets to a game where there offense can start shooting those threes the Gambler has been talking about all week. However, B, Cuse and the 2-3 Orange Zone are legendary..shutting down my Jayhawks and forcing a team to beat them inside. I think we'll see the over cash in for this game.

Ricky and I have been yelling about the strength of the Big XII all tourney!!! OTher than Monmouth, these are the teams you should fear. Big XII is undefeated ATS in the tourney..it continues against mighty Joe Weaver's Pitt Panthers.

2-3 ats last night! In what should be another great game tonight Pitt faces a good Oak State team!! PC is right the Big 12 is just killing the tourney!! But the Big East also has three teams in the sweet sixteen! You can make points for playing either team here, but I will tell you why Pitt will win! First of all Pitt is getting points( 2 now but spot has been moving up as Mr Public plays the cowboys! Look for a final spot of 3) This year Pitt is 6-0 ats when pick or getting pts! The latest just last week vs wisky squad! This is a very hard stat to just ignore! Pitt plays tight games as they have not lost by more than 3 all year!!(an amazing stat if you think about it) its not that they did not play anyone(Conn 3 times) if Conn cannot run you off the court with three bites of the apple well.... Lets talk experience this Pitt team has been to the Sweet sixteen last two years( lost to Marq & Kent State) beleive me they are not happy just to be here as those two losses will motivate them and just the experience of being here last two years will help them. Oak well its been awhile!!(your time will come just not now) Lets talk close game experience in the big dance? Oak has blown out its first two oppenents( e. wash & memphis) probably why Mr public has moved this line!! Pitt meanwhile played two close ones ( thats their MO) and won a very very tight game vs a good wisky team that was playing just about as close to a home game as you can get in the big dance! This is another point that is hard to ignore as the pressure of a close game will favor a Pitt team that has already been in the fire! So to recap we have a tournament tested team that has won the close ones in the past vs a team thats not been there (sweet 16) in a few years that has cruised into the sweet 16! Interesting but not done yet! The game will be played East Rutherford, now no way to know the crowd reaction but my call says Pitt here as they are the underdog(even though since the 2001 -2002 season pitt has best record in college baskets! Yea Pitt not Duke) still the dog? Crowds love the dog on top of that most of Pitt players from New york area and game site closer to Pitt! Homecourt crowd advantage Pitt! Hitting the boards up next !! I know ever since they put on the football unis Oak has been hittin the boards better. Nice touch but tonight they will wish they still had on those unis!! No way to get around the fact BYU beat them on the boards 37-18(13 off.) Mizzou had 19 offensive boards and this was takin care of by putting on football uniforms? Tonight Pitt will domonate them on the inside and when that happens Pitt wins. I look for Taft and Troutman to carry the load big time tonight and just pound them inside( got a taft big game feelin) Best team in the Big 12 on the boards is Texas! I am sorry but I have seen Texas play(good team) but if they are best in the conference on the glass well... They would be at best the 3rd or 4th best glass team in the Big East! Pitt misses a lot but if you let them control the boards its over baby! I feel this is where pitt will abuse them and use them!! Sure Oak shoots it better than Pitt. But if this was the formula for winning WASHINGTON who scored 100 would still be playing!! Its all about defense and hitting the boards at this time of year and pitt is heads over heels on these(thats why wisky scared me good defense) Finally to add fuel to the fire when ask to compare backcourts John Lucas says" we are better"! How much better he is ask? "Its not that close" he replies!! Well johnny boy thanks for the bulletin board material you are about to meet Mr Page he has shut down wayyyyyyyyyyyyy.. better guards then you(much bigger guards at that) P.S. for your sake it better not be close because Pitt is going to pound you on the boards and then show you just how close in talent overall these two backcourts are!! Had Pitt as average play vs wisky rate this higher because of three things!! EXPERIENCE! BOARDS! BULLETIN BOARDS! PITT WINS UGLY SO TEAMS AND BETTORS JUST KEEP OVERLOOKING THEM ( MUCH BETTER?) GET REAL JOHN YOU HAVE FACED NO DEFENSE LIKE THIS ONE!!! YOU AINT MUCH BETTER!! GO HUG YOUR DAD IN THE STANDS THIS ONE IS PITT!! BACK WITH LINE LATER! Also betting Conn -9 early as this one has blowout city written all over it! Ride the panthers as they have been gold gettin points all year!! PITT IS IT!!

Last night started out slow, but ended with a bang. I lost all three Small Plays, but nailed all four of the bigger plays. That's what it's all about; making a profit. My Average Plays and Large Plays have come in huge for me over the last couple of weeks. The Small Ones have not been as solid, but I guess that's why they are Small Plays. You guys can obviously tell I am pumped up right now, and I needed that night to get my confidence level back up to where it normally is. I am passing this evening, but I have a preference on San Antonio, so that probably means I will put a little something on them for fun. I like Wake Forest in College tonight as well. Good Luck!!!!!

What's up fellas$$$$ Get the $$$$ Play #2 was another easy winner!!!! Now 2-0!!!! Big Blue was dunking and getting layups on every possession. They are gonna win the NIT. Overall I was 4-1 on my own picks and my Best Bets were 2-0!!!! That brings my record to 103-100-1 and my Best Bets are 33-30. Add in Tally's GOM and I was 5-1!!!! The best night I ever had.

Went 3-1 yesterday to even out my record for the week to 3-3, up 21 units overall. Here is my play for today:
1) Iowa St (-6) - Iowa St is 8-1 ATS last 9 games and are very good at home.
